Abstract

This study examines how introverted and extroverted personalities impact the interaction of learning English at the elementary school level in Indonesia. By using a quantitative method approach through surveys, this research seeks to understand how students' personality traits affect their involvement in learning English. 300 fifth grade public elementary school students in Cirebon City were given a personality assessment questionnaire to identify introverted and extroverted students. Information about students' English learning interactions was collected through observation and self-report measurements. Data analysis used to analyze survey data using multiple linear regression assisted by SmartPLS version 3 includes the use of descriptive statistics, Outer Model Testing and Inner Model Testing. The study revealed that introvert students tend to experience higher levels of anxiety and prefer solitary learning, while extrovert students show more enthusiasm and prefer group activities in English learning interactions. Introverted and extroverted students face challenges in their language learning, such as expressing themselves and finding opportunities to practice. This finding has important implications for English language education in Indonesian primary schools. Educators can use these results to tailor instructional approaches and create inclusive learning environments that meet the diverse needs of introverted and extroverted students. Understanding the influence of personality on language learning interactions can also lead to strategies that enhance student engagement and facilitate effective language acquisition. In conclusion, this study highlights the influence of introverted and extroverted personalities on the interaction of learning English in Indonesian elementary schools. These findings contribute to the teaching of English that teachers should give different treatment to students considering that students have introverted and extroverted personalities.

Abstract

This study raises the teacher's perception of the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) as a co-curricular program in the implementation of the merdeka curriculum on the indicators of its objectives, content, process and evaluation. This is based on the importance of understanding P5 as a co-curricular program that can strengthen character and competence. To gather data, this study used a quantitative descriptive research method, in which data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 100 elementary school teachers in Cimahi city, then conducting limited interviews to 3 sample teachers to strengthen the questionnaire. Based on the findings, it shows that the teacher's perception of P5 in terms of indicators of co-curricular understanding, P5 objective indicators, P5 content indicators, P5 process indicators and P5 evaluation indicators are in the sufficient category. This was reinforced by the results of the interviews which showed that teachers did not understand the P5 plot, the P5 module components, and the P5 activity syntax. Thus the teacher's perception of P5 is still categorized as sufficient or not good. For this reason, efforts are needed to increase teachers' understanding of P5, one of which is through the use of the Platform Merdeka Mengajar as a medium for independent teacher training which can be done anywhere and anytime. The use of the Platform Merdeka Mengajar is expected to improve teachers' perceptions of P5 as a co-curricular program in the merdeka curriculum.

Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum in elementary schools requires principals to be active, visionary leaders in designing and managing programs aligned with its principles. This study evaluated the effectiveness of assistance provided to principals in understanding and implementing the curriculum to improve educational quality and holistic student development. A participatory approach was used to support 10 elementary school principals in Kabupaten Sleman through mentoring sessions. Data were collected via semi-structured interviews to identify challenges, document analysis to assess current practices, and direct observations during sessions. This approach revealed the challenges principals faced in curriculum design and management. Collaborative sessions encouraged dialogue and sharing of strategies. Pre- and post-intervention assessments showed that many principals initially struggled with understanding the curriculum, especially integrating Profil Pelajar Pancasila and designing Project-Based Learning (PBL) activities. Post-assistance, significant improvements were noted in strategic planning, curriculum implementation, and outcome evaluation. The study highlighted the importance of continuous training and collaborative forums for principals. The findings confirm that such assistance effectively equips principals with essential skills, suggesting that sustained professional development is vital for the curriculum’s success and positive impacts on student learning and character. Future research could focus on programs for teachers to support curriculum integration at the classroom level

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the concept of ethics and morality in Islam that can be applied in the education bureaucracy, identify the challenges faced in the application of Islamic ethics and morality in the education bureaucracy, and offer strategies for implementing Islamic values to create a more transparent, fair, and quality-oriented system. This research uses a library research method with a narrative review approach. Data were obtained through literature analysis from various relevant academic sources in the last 10 years. The analysis technique used is thematic analysis to identify patterns and main themes related to Islamic ethics and morality in the education bureaucracy. The results show that the application of Islamic values, such as honesty (shidq), trustworthiness, justice and ihsan, can improve effectiveness and transparency in the education bureaucracy. However, its implementation faces various challenges, including corruption, lack of transparency, low ethical awareness among education bureaucrats, and weak Islamic values-based regulations. To overcome these obstacles, strategies that can be implemented include Islamic ethics education and training for bureaucrats, strengthening regulations, improving technology-based monitoring systems, and exemplary leadership in the education bureaucracy. The implications of this research show that an education bureaucracy based on Islamic ethics and morality can create an education system that is more integrity, professional, and oriented towards the welfare of the community. Therefore, this research recommends further studies on the application of technology in the supervision of the education bureaucracy as well as more effective policy models in instilling Islamic values in the education administration system.
