Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing academic, social and personal pressure experienced by BPI IAIN Metro students in the digital era, which has a negative impact on mental health. Students often face various problems such as academic stress, confusion in choosing a career, and social pressure. The aim of this research is to measure the effectiveness of counseling chatbots in improving the mental health of students in the Islamic Counseling Guidance Study Program at IAIN Metro. The theory used involves the concept of mental health, which includes psychological well-being and psychological stress as well as cybercounseling based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This research is a quantitative experiment with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design to measure changes in students' stress levels and mental well-being before and after the counseling chatbot treatment. Samples were taken from BPI students who had low mental health, namely 15 students and data was collected using a Likert scale and analyzed using statistical analysis techniques. The results of the research show that chatbot counseling services are effective in improving students' mental well-being. After the intervention, there was a significant improvement in students' mental health, as evidenced by the results of the paired t-test and N-Gain test which showed a significant increase from pretest to posttest. Counseling chatbots are proving to be an innovative and practical solution to help students overcome mental health problems.

Abstract

Self-awareness serves as a cornerstone of personal understanding and consciousness. This ability helps individuals to understand themselves and grow into good people. Study This uses analysis content on several articles published in journals, including guidance and counseling/Islamic guidance and counseling throughout Indonesia, with self-awareness as the main focus of the study. This study discloses that several publications focusing on self-awareness show pattern fluctuations, of which 2022 is peak experience enhancement. Among these publications, the most dominant research design is quantitative research. Apart from that, high school students, multicultural awareness and sociodrama techniques are the targets, focus of study and most treatment. In connection with the findings of this study, several recommendations have been proposed for future research that bases self-awareness as the main focus. These recommendations include increasing the diversity of research types and choosing a more varied treatment technique.

Abstract

Social skills are an important aspect of the development of junior high school students, which are often hampered by low self-efficacy, affecting communication skills, social interaction, and conflict resolution. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of self-efficacy-based interventions in improving the social skills of junior high school students over the past decade (2013–2023). This study used a systematic review method with PRISMA guidance, including 28 studies that met the inclusion criteria, such as quasi-experimental research designs, valid and reliable instruments, and the population of junior high school students. Data were analyzed using narrative synthesis and meta-analysis to calculate the combined effects of self-efficacy interventions on social skills. The results showed that the self-efficacy intervention significantly improved students' self-efficacy, which had a positive impact on improving communication (+18%), social interaction (+15%), and conflict resolution ability (+20%). This intervention has also been shown to be effective in reducing social anxiety and bullying behavior by up to 25%. A holistic approach involving small group training programs and the integration of experiential learning showed superior results over other methods. The unique contribution of this study is its comprehensive scope, including the evaluation of moderation factors such as the duration of the intervention, participant characteristics, and the sustainability of the results. The study also highlighted the success of the intervention in specific subgroups, such as students with autism spectrum, which was previously underdiscussed. These findings offer new insights to develop more effective, directed, and inclusive self-efficacy-based intervention programs in supporting the social and emotional development of junior high school students.

Abstract

In the realm of education, fostering a moderate character is closely tied to the selection of effective strategies. The precision in executing these strategies plays a crucial role in instilling values successfully. The article aims to assess the effectiveness of group-based intelligent character education services (PKC-KO) in improving madrasah students' awareness of religious moderation. The study utilizes an experimental design with a Non-Equivalent Control Group, focusing on Class X students from Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 EastLampung, using Purposive Sampling. A Likert scale-based assessment is employed, and the data is analyzed using statistical tools such as the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov 2 Independent Samples with the assistance of SPSS. Overall, the research findings reveal the success of group-based intelligent character education programs in enhancing madrasah students' awareness of religious moderation. There is a notable disparity in the students' awareness of religious moderation before and after receiving PKC-KO in the experimental group. In contrast, the control group, without such educational intervention, did not experience a significant increase in awareness. The study underscores that PKC-KO imparts principles of religious moderation, encouraging students to maintain a balanced perspective, avoid extremism, practice tolerance towards diverse religious backgrounds, dispel stereotypes, develop positive interpersonal skills, and contribute to societal peace by respecting religious distinctions. This research holds educational implications, emphasizing the potential of PKC-KO-based programs for cultivating awareness of religious moderation among madrasah students. The study suggests that implementing PKC-KO can significantly impact students' perspectives on religious moderation, promoting a more harmonious and tolerant society.
