Abstract

Abstract The background of this study was the low of students’ problem solving skills caused by the teacher using conventional method on science subject so there were not active student activity in finding and solving problems. This study addressed to cope students’ problem in problem solving skills on  classroom by implementing Problem Based Learning model. The study followed a classroom action research through three stages namely planning, implementing and observing, and reflecting action. This research subject to fifth grade SD Babatan V/460 Surabaya on science subject. This research was conducted in two cycles consisting of two meetings for each. The data were gathered using observation, tests, and questionnaire. The result of this study showed the implementation of the Problem Based Learning Model on science subject could improve students’ problem solving skills. It was indicated by an enhancement in the average value of problem solving skills test. Furthermore, the application of this model can also increase students’ learning outcomes, teacher activity of learning, students activity of learning, and students’ responses. Thus, teachers can apply this Problem Based Learning model to increase the activitiy of learning and thinking skills in problem solving of their primarily students.Keywords: Problem Based Learning Model (PBL), Problem Solving Skills, Science.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the improvement in writing skills of science teaching materials for elementary school teachers students through the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. This study used a quasi-experimental method with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design using portfolio assessment sheets to write science teaching materials. Data were analyzed using a T-test. This study's subjects were pre-service teacher students who contracted Natural Science Learning courses in the Elementary Teacher Education Program. The study results indicated that PjBL could increase pre-service teachers' skills in developing teaching materials relevant to the 21st-century skills, students' character, and the applicable curriculum. This result is evidenced by the results of the assessment, which increased significantly from 2.04 to 3.25. It is also based on the Wilcoxon test that Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) 0.05 which is 0.000. It means that there is an influence in the form of an increase in the PjBL model's use of the writing skills of science teaching materials for elementary teacher students. This study recommends that the PjBL model can be used as an alternative learning model to improve the writing skills of teaching materials for students.

Abstract

There are many ways that can be done in an effort to improve science learning outcomes in schools. One way is to choose the right learning method. This study aims to see the effect of experimental learning methods, expository learning methods and critical thinking skills on science learning outcomes. This research was conducted with a sample of 74 students. The research design used an experimental method with treatment by level 2 x 2. Data analysis used 2-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results of this study are that there are differences in the results of students learning science with experimental learning methods between students who learn using expository learning methods; there is an interaction between the learning method and students' critical thinking skills on science learning outcomes; The results of learning science between students who learn with experimental learning methods who have higher critical thinking skills are higher than students who learn using expository learning methods who have high critical thinking skills; The results of learning science between students who learn with experimental learning methods who have low critical thinking skills are lower than students who learn using expository learning methods who have low critical thinking skills. This study implies that the application of experimental learning methods can improve students' critical thinking skills so that it can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran pokok dalam kurikulum pendidikan Indonesia, termasuk jenjang sekolah dasar.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui skenario dan implementasi pembelajaran mengenai sistem penanggalan kalender masehi dan hijriah untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa dengan model Cooperative tipe jigsaw berbantuan video pada siswa kelas VI SD. Berdasarkan hasil observasi atau wawancara peneliti dengan guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) ternyata hasil belajar rata-rata siswa dalam aspek kognitif mata pelajaran IPA masih sangat kurang. Hal ini peneliti menggunakan model Cooperative tipe jigsaw berbantuan video sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman pembelajaran mengenai sistem penanggalan kalender masehi dan hijriah untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa menjadi lebih baik.Metode penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah metode Deskriptif kualitatif, hal ini supaya peneliti dapat menjelaskan upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran khususnya pada materi kalender masehi dan hijriah. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VI di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kota Cimahi, Subjek Penelitian ini di kelas VI Tahun pelajaran 2019-2020 yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Terdiri dari 15 siswa Perempuan dan 15 siswa laki-laki. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh selama pelaksanaan pembelajaran, diperoleh hasil peningkatan nilai rata-rata hasil tes pembelajaran mengenai sistem penanggalan kalender masehi dan hijriah dengan menggunakan model kooperatif tipe jigsaw mencapai 87,20%.Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan yang signifikan.

Abstract

Keterampilan menulis merupakan satu dari empat keterampilan berbahasa yang penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1).untuk mengetahui skenario dan implementasi pembelajaran keterampilan menulis puisi pada siswa SD kelas IV dengan menggunakan model SAVI ,2). Mendeskripsikan respon guru dan respon siswa kelas IV terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi pada siswa SD kelas IV dengan menggunakan model SAVI,3) Mendeskripsikan kesulitan yang dialami oleh siswa dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menulis puisi pada siswa SD kelas IV dengan menggunakan model SAVI. Berdasarkan hasil observasi atau wawancara peneliti dengan guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) ternyata hasil belajar rata-rata siswa pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia belum terlaksana secara maksimal dan hasil keterampilan menulis belum sesuai harapan. Data empiris menunjukkan bahwa Bahasa Indonesia pada kegiatan membaca dan menulis masih rendah.Metode penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah metode Deskriptif kualitatif, hal ini supaya peneliti dapat menjelaskan upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran khususnya pada materi pembelajaran keterampilan menulis puisi pada siswa SD kelas IV dengan menggunakan model SAVI. Dalam penelitian ini, data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrument yaitu lembar observasi dalam bentuk wawancara,lembar kerja siswa dan tes hasil belajar siswa. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV disalah satu Sekolah Negeri di Kabupaten Cianjur tahun pelajaran 2019-2020 dengan jumlah 30 siswa, Terdiri dari 14 siswa  laki – laki dan 16 siswa perempuan. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh selama pelaksanaan pembelajaran, diperoleh hasil peningkatan nilai rata-rata hasil tes pembelajaran keterampilan menulis puisi pada siswa SD kelas IV dengan menggunakan model SAVI mencapai 89%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan yang signifikan.

Abstract

The culture that is owned by a community has a unique knowledge value (local wisdom). The fruit of thought from a culture needs to be preserved as early as possible to preserve the existing history, efforts that can be made are the application of ethnoscience as a learning resource in elementary schools. Past research on this topic was categorized and compared. The method used is a literature review with a sample of 12 articles indexed on Google Scholar in the last 5 years (2015-2020). The discussion on this topic is analyzed comprehensively. The results showed that there were various applications of ethnoscience in learning. This study is to provide an overview and important information about ethnoscience towards learning in elementary schools and also as a reference for further research.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using interactive compensatory model (ICM)-based integrated thematic learning tools to improve students’ reading comprehension of information text comprehension for fifth grade elementary school. This research was conducted in three stages. The first phase of the preliminary study included a literature study, field surveys and expert-validated initial product preparation. The second stage of development included limited trials and extensive trials through experimental methods. The third stage was product testing and socialization of the results to try out its efficacy. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, questionnaires and test (pre-test and post-test). This study used a sample of 504 grade fifth students in 12 elementary schools in Bandung Regency. The results of this study indicate that the use of ICM-based integrated thematic learning tools has a significant effect on students’ improvement for reading comprehension on information text for fifth grade elementary school. This is evidenced by the difference in students’ reading comprehension ability before and after learning using ICM-based integrated thematic learning tools. This research has implications for the ease with which teachers can achieve learning objectives with the support of teaching materials, media, worksheets and interesting and practical activities that can stimulate students to improve their reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the communication skill profile of Elementary Teacher Education (ETE) students enrolled in natural science online learning-based STEM. Pre-experimental research with a one-shot case study design was used in this study. The study's sample consisted of 25 ETE students from a university in Cimahi. Observation and documentation were the techniques used in this study. The paired sample t-test was used to analyze the data. The descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing with the t-test were used to check the data validity. The findings of this study revealed that (1) there is an effect of STEM-based online science learning on ETE students' communication skills, (2) that most students are still in the Intermediate category for written communication and "does not meet the Standards" for oral communication skills, and (3) that students' communication skills in STEM-based science online learning still need to be optimized. The study's findings suggest that ETE lecturers in Indonesia should broaden their knowledge and perspectives in STEM-based learning and communication management. Second, ETE lecturers in Indonesia must take the assessment of communication skills more seriously. Last but not least, the government, with the help of researchers, must devise an excellent assessment system to overcome time constraints. The results of this study revealed that STEM-based online science learning is being implemented.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi  pembelajaran sains melalui aplikasi zoom meeting di masa pandemik COVID-19. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PGSD dengan sampel 42 Mahasiswa.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan soal tes dan angket. Analisi data menggunakan analysis interactive model. Hasil dari penelitian ini, menunjukan bahwa aplikasi zoom meeting cukup membantu dalam proses pembelajaran selama masa pandemi covid-19. Adapun kesulitan dalam pelaksanaannya, diantaranya: kurang memadainya sarana dan prasarana, koneksi internet yang terganggu, penggunaan kuota internet yang boros dan dosen tidak bisa mengontrol mahasiswa secara penuh.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a large enough impact, not being excluded from learning in elementary schools. As the spearhead in designing and implementing the learning process, teachers have an important role. The learning process carried out by teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic is certainly different, learning that was previously carried out face-to-face is converted into online learning. Teachers are encouraged to be technology literate and master various online learning media. The purpose of this service is to provide training to elementary school teachers to improve their understanding of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used is training using lectures and questions and answers. Community service provides benefits for elementary school teachers in developing their abilities, especially in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.
