Abstract

Entering the era of society 5.0, the interest of Islamic students in pursuing knowledge of Islamic, social, religious, political, economic, and legal studies derived from the yellow books is very low, considering that there are several books that have been translated and printed in book form, and some even in the form of digital applications that can be easily read by students and the wider community. However, the ability to read, interpret, and understand the contents of the yellow books is one of the requirements for students to be considered as such. The research aims to understand, analyze, and interpret the findings of the implementation of the nubdzatul bayan method and the model of accelerating the reading of the yellow books. The writing method used a qualitative approach with phenomenological type. Data was obtained through observation, interviews, and document studies. The collected data was then described, analyzed, and interpreted based on theoretical and philosophical principles by examining the research data through the interactive analysis of Miles and Huberman, starting from data collection, reduction, presentation, and verification. The results of this research show that 1) the acceleration program in learning the yellow book is an effort to appreciate the achievements of students, an effort to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the process of mastering the yellow book, an effort to increase spiritual, intellectual and emotional intelligence in a balanced manner, and an effort to provide recognition for the achievements of students . The acceleration program using the nubdzatul bayan method in learning the yellow book at the Al-Majidiyah Islamic boarding school is implemented through 5 stages or fans starting from fan mubtadi', fan Nubdzatul Bayan, fan Faraidl, fan arudl, and fan arudl. Meanwhile, the model for accelerating mastery of the yellow book through the application of the nubdzatul bayan method is illustrated through five components contained in the learning process, namely planning, materials, strategies, tools/media and evaluation..

Abstract

This study originates from the rise in violence within faith-based educational institutions, especially Islamic boarding schools (Pesantren). This highlights the urgent need to develop educational approaches that prioritize child protection. Islamic Boarding School have significant cultural and spiritual authority, giving them the potential to pioneer child-friendly education principles. This research aims to formulate and examine a child-friendly Islamic education model for violence prevention at Islamic Boarding School. A qualitative case study approach was used. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Analysis involved data description and categorization, thematic analysis and pattern recognition, theoretical interpretation, critical evaluation, model construction, validation, testing for credibility, and synthesis. Findings show the child-friendly Islamic Boarding School model is shaped by institutional policies like a “No Bullying” regulation. It also features ethical-spiritual values such as isthar (respect), tawadhu’ (humility), and pangabekti (devotion). Character habituation happens through riyadlah and mujahadah activities. Digital innovation, via the Ma’lūmat Santri application, strengthens participatory supervision that involves parents. This model reduces violence, reinforces character education, and enriches Islamic education theory based on humanistic values.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the development of fiqh education at Ma'had Aly Situbondo, an Islamic boarding school that integrates a multi-madhhab approach with democratic pedagogy and multicultural education. This study aims to identify how the multi-madhhab curriculum and democratic learning methods improve students' fiqh competence and intercultural skills. This approach focuses on more inclusive and adaptive learning, in line with the needs of contemporary multicultural societies. The methodology used is a mixed methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques. The main data sources are curriculum documentation, interviews with educators, administrators, and students, as well as participatory observation at Ma'had Aly Situbondo. The research population involves Ma'had Aly Situbondo students with a purposively selected sample. Qualitative data analysis techniques used thematic analysis, while quantitative data were analysed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-tests to measure changes in student competence before and after participating in the multi-madhhab curriculum programme. The findings show a significant increase in fiqh understanding, fiqh application skills, and student confidence in making decisions based on a multi-madhhab perspective.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of child-friendly Islamic education based on religious moderation at MAN 2 Pamekasan, focusing on learning strategies, the integration of local wisdom, and the reinforcement of love and tolerance values. Employing a qualitative case study with an ethnographic orientation, the researcher collected data through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and focus group discussions (FGD). The ethnographic lens allowed the researcher to capture the cultural nuances, lived experiences, and symbolic practices that shape the madrasah’s educational environment. Findings indicate that MAN 2 Pamekasan successfully creates a safe, inclusive, and participatory learning climate by combining teacher role modeling, religious habituation, and the integration of Madurese local wisdom, particularly the buppa’-babu’-guruh-rato philosophy. These values are embedded into the curriculum, which emphasizes active student participation in dialogue, reflective learning, and collective practices, resulting in the internalization of moderation, love, and tolerance in everyday life. The findings resonate with classical theories of al-Ghazali on adab and Ibn Khaldun on social solidarity, modern theories of Piaget and Vygotsky on cognitive and social interaction, and contemporary frameworks (2023–2025) on child-friendly learning and the Islamic pedagogy of care. This study contributes theoretically to the discourse on Islamic education based on moderation and practically to the prevention of radicalism and intolerance, positioning MAN 2 Pamekasan as a replicable model of ethnographically grounded, child-friendly Islamic education.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the gap between the mandate of Child-Friendly Schools (CFS), which emphasizes holistic well-being, and the implementation of Guidance and Counseling (GC) services in elementary schools, which often remains limited to disciplinary and curative functions. The research aims to analyze the actual role of GC services in enhancing students' psychological well-being at SDN 1 Bujur Tengah Pamekasan, explore multi-stakeholder perceptions, and formulate an integrated model. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with GC teachers, principals, classroom teachers, and students, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal three critical points: first, a dichotomy exists between the ideal GC program structure and daily practices dominated by reactive case handling, thereby neglecting developmental services for all students. Second, perceptions of GC remain fragmented and stigmatized; teachers view its impact casuistically, while student access is limited and often associated with rule-breaking. Third, collaboration between GC teachers and subject teachers occurs incidentally without institutionalized systemic support. The study concludes that GC has not yet functioned optimally as an architect of students' psychological well-being and recommends a Networked GC Model within the CFS Ecosystem. This model emphasizes restructuring programs toward promotive-preventive approaches, strengthening collaboration through formal forums and instruments, and building partnerships with parents to create cohesive systemic support for the well-being of the entire school community.

Abstract

This study examines the humanistic and moderate-oriented model of classical fiqh learning in the M2KD Program at Pesantren Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata Pamekasan. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Findings reveal four key points: (1) humanistic values emerge through egalitarian, dialogical, and reflective learning; (2) fiqh instruction applies an accelerative, multi-level strategy based on the zone of proximal development; (3) moderation is fostered through discursive methods emphasizing tasamuh, ta‘adul, and tawazun; and (4) M2KD integrates classical text mastery with inclusive character formation. This model balances tradition and contemporary relevance.
