Abstract

Abstract

This research discusses the application of electoral district structuring principles and Islamic political principles in the formation of North Sumatra Province DPRD Electoral Districts in the 2024 Election. Using qualitative research methods, normative approaches, and Miles and Huberman's interactive data analysis model. This research investigates the extent to which these principles are reflected in the determination of electoral districts. The results of the research show that the principle of equal vote value and the principle of proportionality has not been fully accommodated in the Determination of Electoral Districts for the DPRD of North Sumatra Province for the 2024 Election, based on the Principles of Electoral District Arrangement. According to the perspective of Islamic political principles such as obedience, justice, and equality (al-musawah), they cannot be fully applied in determining electoral districts. Further analysis reveals that the main factor causing the non-implementation of these principles is political influence in determining electoral districts for the DPR and Provincial DPRD in the 2024 Election. This research makes an important contribution to understanding the challenges and obstacles faced in realizing the democratic and political principles of Islam in the context of regional elections. The implications of these findings emphasize the need for reform to increase the value of voting representation and proportionality, in line with Islamic political principles. Practical recommendations involve policy reform and tighter oversight to reduce detrimental political influences. It is hoped that these steps will improve the implementation of these principles in future regional election systems.

Abstract

This article aims to explore Islamic spirituality as the fundamental basis for the formulation of Sharia economic law regulations, adopting an approach that integrates theory and practice. This research is categorized as library research with a qualitative approach and utilizes descriptive analysis. Primary data were sourced from scientific journals published in the last ten years, while secondary data were obtained from books and related digital references. Data validity was ensured through triangulation, with the analysis process conducted inductively, moving from general data to specific conclusions. The study concludes that Islamic spirituality plays a central role in shaping the ethical values underpinning Sharia economic law regulations. This spiritual dimension not only guides economic actors to balance material and non-material interests but also ensures the sustainability of divine values in modern economic practices. The integration of theory and practice through this approach produces a regulatory framework that is not only normative but also practical in its application.

Abstract

Women’s political participation has become an important issue in contemporary democratic studies, particularly in emerging democracies such as Indonesia, where elections serve as a key mechanism for citizen engagement. However, most existing studies still conceptualize political socialization as a passive, cultural, and family-based process. There is limited attention to how political parties actively mobilize women as strategic agents of political socialization, especially at the local level. This study aims to analyze the role of women as political socialization agents in Indonesia’s 2024 election, focusing on gendered political mobilization within the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in Deli Serdang Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach with a grounded perspective. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and field observations, supported by secondary data from official documents and academic literature. Informants consisted of female party elites, members, and cadres selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings show that women in PKS play an active and strategic role through organizational consolidation, community-based engagement, and digital political campaigns. Their involvement contributes to increasing women’s political participation and shaping voter preferences. However, an ambivalence is identified between empowerment and instrumentalization, where women’s participation simultaneously reflects inclusion and serves electoral interests. This study contributes by reconceptualizing political socialization as an active and organized process driven by political actors and by advancing the concept of gendered political mobilization in local democratic contexts.

Abstract

Indonesia has diversity, race, ethnicity, culture, customs, religion and several regions in this country have local beliefs. Many of the general public do not know that in every region there were beliefs held by people in ancient times. At this time there are still many who do not know very well about the contents of the values that exist in local beliefs and as a result there are still many who act intolerantly towards this original archipelago belief. The diversity of religions in Indonesia can be seen from the recognition of the five religions professed by the people in the country, namely Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucianism. Factors that influence the diversity of Indonesian society, both from within and outside the community itself. This diversity is a challenge that can pose a threat to the integrity of the Indonesian nation. However, the existence of a motto that is formed as a reference or as a symbol of one area is able to help and reduce divisions between religious communities in that region. After conducting research, this research focuses on, 1) Having a motto/motto in one area can encourage the growth of tolerance towards differences in race, ethnicity, ethnicity, and religion. 2) Can strengthen unity in a pluralistic society. 3) It has its own meaning and meaning for each region. This research method uses a type of qualitative research. Data Collection Techniques using Interview Methods or interviews, observation, and documentation.
