Abstract

This research aims to describe how program planning, implementation processes and supervision are applied in madrasah. The method used is a qualitative approach, data was collected through observation, interviews and document analysis. Research subjects include principals, quality development teams, supervisors, committees, teachers and supervisors. Data validation uses data triangulation. Data analysis is carried out through data condensation, data presentation and conclusions. The results of this study revealed that programme planning begins at the beginning of the year with a joint meeting between the principal, teaching team and other stakeholders. In the meeting, they discuss the formation of the research class, set the curriculum, and detail the programme plan. The programme is organised by assigning teachers who are competent in the field of research, forming an implementation structure, and a quality development unit. Programme implementation went according to plan, focusing on improving students' knowledge, developing a literacy culture, developing writing skills and participating in competitions. One of the main limitations is that programme supervision still needs to be improved. This may hinder effective monitoring and evaluation of the programme's progress. The study has limitations as it only focuses on one variable madrasah. Therefore, the generalisation of the results of this study to other madrasahs may be limited. This study makes a valuable contribution to understanding madrasah improvement practices in student-conducted research, thus providing essential and relevant insights for improving the quality of education in madrasahs.

Abstract

Regulatory changes regarding the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program have generated diverse perceptions among education students, particularly those from LPTK institutions. This study aims to explore the perceptions of students in the Economics Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pattimura University, concerning the PPG program. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation involving 30 respondents. The findings indicate that most students have a good understanding of PPG and express a strong interest in participating. However, concerns arise regarding government policies that allow non-education graduates to obtain teacher certification, which is perceived to create disparities in competence and professional competition. The study highlights the urgency of enhancing information dissemination, ensuring policy fairness, and improving program-level access. Strategic efforts are required from institutions and policymakers to refine the implementation of PPG so that it not only produces professional teachers but also maintains academic justice. Recommendations include strengthening internal campus outreach, developing adaptive information systems for PPG, and harmonizing inter-institutional education policies

Abstract

The effectiveness gap between traditional and student-centered learning approaches necessitates a systematic evaluation. This study aims to compare students’ learning outcomes in social studies using contextual and conventional instructional methods. Employing a quasi-experimental design without a control group, data were collected from two different classes and analyzed using a t-test. The findings revealed that the contextual approach resulted in higher average scores than the conventional method. This highlights the importance of learning connected to real-life experiences. The approach fosters active and collaborative student engagement, leading to more equitable and meaningful academic achievement. This research contributes to the understanding of the impact of context-based instructional strategies in secondary education. The results are relevant for educational policy development and teacher professional growth. It is recommended that contextual learning be broadly integrated into social studies instruction to enhance students’ comprehension and support the development of their critical thinking skills

Abstract

The shift in learning models due to the pandemic has driven higher education institutions to adopt blended learning as an adaptive alternative. This study aims to describe the implementation of the blended learning model in lectures at the Economic Education Study Program, FKIP Pattimura University, focusing on three main aspects: planning, implementation, and assessment. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through observation, interviews, and document analysis, the study reveals that instructional planning covers key components including objectives, methods, and assessment. The implementation follows the stages of seeking information, acquiring information, and synthesizing knowledge. Evaluation addresses cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains through various assignments and examinations. These findings highlight the importance of institutional and lecturer preparedness in managing blended learning effectively. The implication is that universities should develop standard policies for implementing blended learning and provide infrastructure support as well as ongoing pedagogical training for faculty members

Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ perceptions of the teaching and learning process conducted by economics teachers using the 2013 Curriculum at YPKPM Christian Senior High School Ambon, specifically among Grade X IIS students. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, using a closed-ended questionnaire distributed to 20 respondents. The instrument was developed based on indicators covering lesson planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results show that students’ perceptions are generally positive. Teachers are considered capable of designing lessons aligned with core competencies, applying various methods, and delivering material clearly and systematically. During implementation, teachers foster a conducive learning environment and encourage active student participation. However, some students noted that the evaluation methods did not fully reflect individual abilities due to the dominance of multiple-choice questions. The study recommends improving evaluation methods, incorporating more interactive digital media, and enhancing teacher training to optimize the 2013 Curriculum implementation. These findings are expected to serve as input for educators and policymakers in improving the quality of economics education

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Card Sort learning method on students' learning outcomes in Economics for Grade XI IIS at SMA Negeri 2 Tual. The research is grounded in the need for varied learning strategies to improve students’ understanding of both conceptual and applied economic content. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The population consisted of all Grade XI IIS students, with two randomly selected classes as samples: the experimental class applying the Card Sort method, and the control class using conventional learning methods. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test to assess student learning outcomes. The results indicate a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental and control classes. Students taught using the Card Sort method showed improved concept mastery, active participation in learning, and better collaboration skills. Abstract

Ambon City holds significant potential in the tourism sector through its unique cultural identity in music. However, the utilization of the “Ambon City of Music” brand remains suboptimal due to weak stakeholder synergy and limited supportive infrastructure. This study aims to analyze the tourism development prospects of Ambon by maintaining its music brand as a strategic identity. The research employs an exploratory-qualitative approach using field observations, interviews, and document analysis. Findings reveal that the music brand significantly contributes to building cultural-based tourism appeal, but lacks comprehensive support from regulations, physical infrastructure, and public awareness. Despite UNESCO's recognition of Ambon as a World Music City, there has been no visible transformation of the city’s spatial identity. The study highlights the importance of integrating cultural promotion with urban infrastructure enhancement to achieve global positioning. Recommendations include optimizing music-playing regulations, establishing musical landmarks, and promoting music education across sectors. This research contributes to developing a sustainable, identity-based tourism management model.
