Abstract

This research aims to measure students' mathematical literacy skills after using e-worksheets based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) Approach. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Students in class VIII of SMP N 1 Talang Kelapa, each with low, medium, and high literacy skills, were the subjects of this research. The categorization of students is based on the number of mathematical literacy components resulting from student answers on the test. Data was collected through observation, tests, and interviews. The purpose of observation is to measure the implementation of learning through RME, and the test is to measure students' literacy skills. In data analysis, the elements that appear most frequently are communication, mathematization, and the use of symbolic, formal, and technical language operations. Component 1 appears when students write a statement containing information about a problem and representing the results obtained. Component 2 emerges when students create a mathematical model of the problem, and component 7 emerges when students use formal forms that conform to mathematical definitions and rules. The results of learning observations carried out using e-worksheets based on the RME approach show that learning can be said to be of good quality according to the established criteria.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to describe the results of designing number pattern questions used to measure the mathematical thinking abilities of students with a kinesthetic learning style. The research subjects consisted of 5 class VIII students with a kinesthetic learning style. The type of research is design research with 5 stages, namely: Preliminary Design, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), Trial, Interview, and Retrospective Analysis. The data collection techniques are learning style questionnaires, tests and interviews. The data analysis used in the research is qualitative. Based on the results of the FGD, number pattern questions can be used to measure mathematical thinking abilities, because each question leads students to bring up specializing, generalizing, conjecturing and convincing aspects. Based on the test results, it is known that students can write specializing, generalizing, conjecturing, and convincing forms. Specializing is seen when students write the form of adding numbers for each term. Generalizing is seen when students find patterns by listing them one by one or using tables, conjecturing when they find the general formula, and convincing is seen when they find other ways to prove the answer. Based on the results of the interview, students' answers were obtained through the activity of managing and simulating questions using body parts.

Abstract

Mathematical thinking involves how individuals present, understand, and critically examine mathematical truths, considering how their relation to representation or imagination. However, students often exhibit low mathematical thinking skills. Previous research shows that digital worksheets based on creative problem-solving can foster these skills, yet the relationship between mathematical thinking and learning styles remains unexplored. This study aims to develop innovative digital worksheets based on creative problem solving, categorized as valid, practical, and effective in enhancing students' mathematical thinking with audio-visual learning styles. The study employs a development method comprising two main stages: a preliminary study (analysis and design) and a formative study (evaluation and revision). Data collection instruments include tests, observations, validation sheets, questionnaires, and interviews. The analysis integrates both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The study involved 15 audio-visual learners from 24 eighth-grade students at SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang. The results indicate that students excel in specializing and identifying problems based on given information. Their generalizing skills, including finding patterns and relationships are strong. However, their conjecturing and convincing skills require improvement, particularly in making connections and reasoning. The digital worksheets were deemed 93% valid and practical, significantly enhancing students' mathematical thinking, particularly for those with an audio-visual learning style. While students demonstrated excellent skills in specialization and good skills in generalization, there is still a need for improvement in conjecturing and convincing due to errors in mathematical reasoning.

Abstract

The Merdeka curriculum formulates learning that refers to the abilities needed in the era of industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0. The assessment is carried out as an effort to measure the level of achievement of learning indicators and collect information on student learning progress in various aspects.  Facts in the field show problems in implementing independent curriculum cognitive assessments in learning. This indicates the high need for preparing independent curriculum assessments, namely diagnostic assessments, formative assessments and summative assessments. Artificial intelligence or Artificial Intelligence (AI) is part of the industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0 so that integrating society and technology cannot be avoided.  Artificial Intelligence in mathematics learning has great potential to support learning effectiveness and efficiency. This service is a lecture activity that integrates artificial intelligence evaluation courses into service activities that are integrated with community service. This initiative was implemented to support digital literacy and increase teacher competency in utilizing modern technology, in accordance with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. This activity includes training, mentoring, and evaluation of the use of AI in learning assessment. As a result of this activity, teachers are able to understand the basic concepts of AI, innovation in assessment development, and its implementation in the classroom. Through various face-to-face and online meetings, this activity succeeded in providing new insights for teachers regarding the use of AI technology in learning, although there were challenges related to initial understanding and availability of supporting facilities. With intensive assistance, teachers are able to prepare assessments that are more adaptive and appropriate to student needs, so they are expected to be able to support improving the quality of education in the digital era.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to apply worked example-based learning as an effort to improve the representation ability of junior high school students. This research is a quasi-experiment study with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Talang Kelapa, Banyuasin, South of Sumatera, with a purposive sampling technique taken two classes as the sample. Samples on select from is student in class VIII.3 were used as experiment class, and class VIII.4 used as a control class. The instrument that used in this research is a mathematical representation test. The validation of this instrument was carried out by an expert review. Analysis the data using t-test with independent samples test. From the results of data analysis show the average final ability of students' mathematical representations in the experimental class was the same as the average final ability of students in the control class with Asymp.Sig (1-tailed) = 0.086. But, the average value of the post-test in the experimental class was 60, and the average value of the post-test in the control class was 53.13. Its meaning that the average test score of students' mathematical representation abilities in the experimental class was higher than the average ability test score mathematical representation of students in the control class
