Abstract

This training aims to train literacy and numeracy through making STEM-based learning media on renewable energy material. In addition, teachers are expected to be able to provide innovation in media making, which can be implemented in science learning. The method used in this activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR). Several steps are taken to achieve the set goals, namely 1) giving a pretest or initial test, 2) implementing the service, and 3) giving a final test and evaluation and reflection. This activity was attended by 30 participants who were science teachers and members of the Science MGMP. The results showed that the percentage for the pretest score with 30 participants obtained an average of 47.6%, and the posttest score obtained an average of 93.20%, for a Gain score of 87%. This value represents the interpretation of the practical improvement category. Based on the results of the questionnaire on the level of satisfaction with the implementation of the service, it can be indicated that all teachers feel delighted with the training assistance service activities. This training activity has provided practical solutions to facing the challenges of 21st-century learning, especially in areas with limited facilities.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance students' argumentation skills at the junior high school level by implementing science learning based on scientific literacy. This research uses a quasi-experimental design with a quantitative descriptive method. The instruments used were (1) an essay test with an instrument in the form of scientific argumentation description questions with as many as six items and (2) an interview with the teacher about the science learning process in the classroom. To measure students' argumentation skills refer to the Toulmin Argumentation Pattern (TAP) argumentation skills indicators. This research used a sample of one of the junior high schools in Muara Enim District. The result shows student's argumentation skills are still in level 1 with 58,1% as a weak category, level 2 with 30,95 % as a weak category, and level 3 with 10,95%. The teacher through interview sessions explains that the students' argumentation skills are lacking because they are affected by low confidence and nervousness. When learners are asked, learners give short answers which cannot provide the right sentence to explain something Learners are accustomed to using local language in expressing opinions and have not been able to express argumentation orally in the form of organized sentences. Based on these findings, further research needs to be done on the application of appropriate learning models that can train students' argumentation skills.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to find out and review the research trends of computer-based test assessment in education science over the past 10 years. The research method used is a literature study using bibliometric analysis method. Bibliometric analysis is a quantitative method used to measure and analyze scientific publications, such as journal articles, books, or conference proceedings and metadata processing. As for the metadata used in this research was sourced from Google Scholar. Database search and analysis used Publish or Perish (PoP) and VOSviewer software. The results showed that there was trends in research on increasing interest in adaptive question development, integration of CBT with LMS, and the effect of CBT on student learning outcomes. This research can be used as a reference for further research on variables that have not shown correlation through Vosviewer. Some recommendations related to this research include the importance of expanding the use of database sources to collect published articles, for example through the WOS (Web of Science) database. The implication of this research is the availability of literature as preliminary analysis results to be used in further research

Abstract

Abstract

To face the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0, the Indonesian nation must continue to prepare quality future generations through education. Educational institutions are required to realize human resources who have creative thinking, critical thinking and problem solving, communicating, and collaborating called 4C. This study aims to get an overview of the implementation of interactive conceptual instruction with multi-representation to optimize the achievement of students' scientific communication skills on momentum and impulse concepts. Employing a descriptive research design with an observation method, this research was conducted at a senior high school in the 2020/2021 academic year. This study involved 20 students in the tenth grade which were selected by using cluster random sampling technique. The scientific communication skills were reflected in three sub-skills, namely scientific writing, group discussion, and knowledge presentation. The results of the study showed that the average values of student scientific communication skills (SCS) from the first to the fourth meeting are 53.3, 66.1, 89.3, and 97.8, respectively. The average value is the result of the average value of scientific communication skills of all respondents in each session. It can be concluded that the implication of interactive conceptual instruction with multi-representation approach can optimize the achievement of students' scientific communication skills on momentum and impulse concepts.
