Abstract

This study aim to: (1) Produce media of math comics based on character values for trigonometry material on first grade (Class X) Senior High School which is valid and practical. (2) Determine the potential effects arise from development of mathematics comics media based on character values for trigonometry for first grade class toward student test result. The type of this research is Development Research, Formative Evaluation type. The subjects were student of Class X-1 of Public Senior High School No. 1 Indralaya Utara in academic year 2015/2016 totaling 30 students. Data collection techniques used is the walkthrough, observation and test. The results from this study are: (1) This research has produced a media of math comics based on character values for trigonometry material to first grade of senior high school which valid and practical. The validity drawn from the assessment result of validator in terms of content, construct, and language. Practicalities drawn from the results of a small group test where most student can well-use the media as planned. (2) Mathematics comics media based on character values can increase students character values. (3) Matematics comics media which is developed has a positive potential effect on students test results, it can be seen that the stundent achieving the Minimum Completeness Criteria {Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM)} of  2,51 is  amounted to 83 or as many as 25 students.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive research that aims to descrcibe students’ mathematical reasoning ability by metaphorical thinking approach in proportion section at grade VIIIA SMPN 1 Indralaya Utara. Data collection technique uses test and interview methods. The test instrument used is included of three reasoning ability problems. Data analysis technique is done by analysing the result of test. The interview is used for supporting the result of students’ test. The result of this research shows that the mathematical reasoning ability of students at grade VIIIA of SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara is medium with this details: percentage of students who have mathematical reasoning ability with category excellent is ,  have mathematical reasoning ability with category good,  have mathematical reasoning ability with category medium,  have mathematical reasoning ability with category bad, and 0% for mathematical reasoning ability with category very bad. Indicator of mathematical reasoning ability with the highest percentage is presenting written mathematical statement with 91,41% while indicator with the lowest percentage is finding out the pattern or character of mathematical indication for making generalization with 31,25%.

Abstract

Mathematical learning not only produces students who succeed in mathematical and procedural calculations but also develops religious thinking. Realistic mathematics education with the context of Islamic values makes students can imagine, which is one of the right ways to develop the skills of students’ creativity, collaboration, and communication. This study aims to describe the learning trajectory that can help students understand integers with a realistic mathematics education approach based on Islamic values. It is hoped that student responses are positive, meaningful, and enjoyable. This research uses the design research method, which is a form of a qualitative approach. There are three stages in this research, namely: preliminary design, experimental design, and retrospective analysis. The results showed that the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) trial with an Islamic value-based context showed significant progress based on student responses. Initially, students had difficulty understanding integers, but they felt delighted to follow the learning process along with the habituation. The HLT technique used in habituation was through pilot experiments, followed by teaching experiments. Students respond very positively and are happy to follow it by seeing the very significant development of their abilities during the learning process.

Abstract

AbstrakDalam matematika, kemampuan memahami, menalar, dan menghubungkan matematika termasuk dalam nilai pendidikan matematika. Fakta menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai pendidikan matematika belum sepenuhnya terintegrasi dalam pembelajaran matematika, sehingga mempengaruhi kualitas proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendekripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan matematika siswa SMA pada pembelajaran berbasis sekolah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya yang berjumlah 6 orang siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes, dan wawancara untuk mengetahui aktivitas siswa saat menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika dan untuk mengkonfirmasi solusi siswa terhadap masalah tersebut. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman relasional dan pengetahuan teoritis merupakan indikator yang terjadi pada semua subjek, sedangkan indikator penalaran kurang dominan. Untuk penelitian lebih lanjut, disarankan untuk menemukan korelasi antara semua nilai pendidikan matematika.Kata kunci: nilai-nilai pendidikan matematika; pemecahan masalah AbstractIn mathematics, the ability to understand, reason, and connect mathematics is included in the value of mathematics education. The fact shows that the values of mathematics education have not been fully integrated in mathematics learning, as a result, it affects the quality of the learning process. This study aimed to describe senior high school students’ mathematical educational values on problem-solving tasks. It was a qualitative-descriptive study. The subjects were six students of Grade X of SMAN 1 Indralaya. The data were collected through observation, test and interview to perceive the students’ activity while working on the mathematical problem, to determine the mathematic educational values, and to confirm the students’ solutions toward the problem. The results of the study showed that the relational understanding and theoretical knowledge were the indicators that occurred in all subjects, whereas the reasoning indicator was less dominant. For further research, it is suggested to discover the correlation among all mathematical educational values.Keywords: mathematics educational values; problem solving

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (development research) yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan desain pembelajaran berbasis nilai. Penelitian ini melalui 4 tahapan yaitu tahapan persiapan, perancangan, pengembangan, dan tahap akhir. Subjek penelitian adalah subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa yang mengikuti mata kuliah Telaah Kurikulum pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2011/2012. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi video yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengamati aktivitas belajar dan wawancara. Semua data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil analisis data menyimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis nilai, nilai – nilai pendidikan matematika yang muncul diantaranya keterbukaan, kejelasan, sistematisasi, kreatifitas, membuka pikiran, dan konjektur.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk (1)mengetahui karakteristik LKS berbasis Project Based Learning (PjBL) yang valid dan praktis dalam pembelajaran materi segitiga di kelas VII; (2)mengetahui efek potensial penggunaan LKS berbasis PjBL terhadap hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran materi segitiga di kelas VII. Metode penelitian pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model  ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah walkthrough, tes hasil belajar dan angket. Dari tes hasil belajar, diperoleh bahwa sebesar 82,5% siswa telah mencapai kategori tuntas dan 17,5% belum tuntas dengan KKM 75. Hasil angket respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa untuk pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan LKS berbasis PjBL telah mencapai kriteria kepraktisan. Kemudian untuk LKS berbasis PjBL yang telah didesain, divalidasi oleh beberapa pakar, kemudian direvisi berdasarkan saran dari para pakar tersebut. LKS yang telah direvisi tersebut dianggap telah memenuhi kriteria kevalidan dan kepraktisan sehingga dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran materi segitiga di kelas VII. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) LKS bebasis PjBL yang dikembangkan valid, tergambar dari konten (sesuai dengan kurikulum untuk materi segitiga), konstruk (sesuai dengan prinsip PjBL), dan bahasa (sesuai dengan ejaan yang disempurnakan (EYD)). Kepraktisan tergambar dari proses kerja siswa dalam melaksanakan LKS dan hasil angket respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan LKS berbasis PjBL; (2) dari hasil latihan yang dikerjakan oleh siswa, LKS berbasis PjBL memiliki efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar, yakni sebanyak 33 siswa termasuk kategori tuntas (82,5%) dan 7 orang belum tuntas (17,5%), dengan KKM 75.  Â DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.22342/jpm.10.2.3626.1-12

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa memecahkan masalah matematika. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami masalah dan menindaklanjuti rencana penyelesaian masalah dengan metode yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa memecahkan masalah matematika dengan metode mind mapping di kelas VII.2 bilingual SMP Negeri 1 Palembang serta mendapatkan gambaran mengenai kualitas mind mapping yang digunakan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal pemecahan masalah. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII.2 SMP Negeri 1 Palembang sebanyak 30 orang siswa. Metode penelitian ini berupa penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah dengan melakukan tes pada subjek penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas mind map pada problem sheet I dan II dikategorikan baik dengan nilai rata-rata 76,11 sedangkan kemampuan siswa memecahkan masalah matematika dengan metode mind mapping secara keseluruhan dikategorikan baik yaitu sebesar 78,93. Sedangkan kemampuan siswa memecakan masalah dengan metode mind mapping secara keseluruhan adalah sebanyak 35,71% siswa pada kategori sangat baik, 42,86% siswa pada kategori baik, 14,29% siswa pada kategori cukup, sisanya pada kategori kurang. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut, diharapkan kepada sekolah agar dapat memfasilitasi guru dan siswa untuk dapat melangsungkan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika serta selalu terbuka dengan inovasi metode atau teknik baru yang mendorong kemampuan tersebut.
