Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies employed by teachers to enhance the social independence of students with mild intellectual disabilities at SDN Brebes 02. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers and students in grades IV and V. In this study, triangulation was used to obtain the level of data absorption, and the type of data analysis employed was triangulation. The findings reveal that the main strategies implemented by teachers include cooperative learning, positive reinforcement (both verbal and nonverbal), social simulation activities, the use of instructional media, and collaboration with parents. These approaches have proven effective in improving students' social interaction, cooperation, and self-confidence. This study highlights the importance of ongoing teacher training and enhanced cross-sector collaboration to more effectively and sustainably support the development of social independence among students with mild intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the reading corner in enhancing the reading interest of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Sawojajar 03. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study are the teachers and fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Sawojajar 03. The study employs technique triangulation and source triangulation to ensure data validity. The results indicate that the implementation of the reading corner in improving students' reading interest is carried out in a structured manner through routine reading activities, the development of critical thinking skills toward reading materials, and the integration of the reading corner into classroom learning. The success of this implementation is supported by teacher role modeling, the availability of a variety of books, a comfortable environment, and an attractive reading corner design. However, several challenges remain in the implementation, such as the absence of reading desks, a lack of book collection updates, and the absence of recognition or rewards for students who actively engage in reading activities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of online games on the social behavior of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Limbangan 02. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method. Primary data consisted of interview transcripts and observation notes, obtained from 34 informants who were selected as samples in the study. Secondary data were collected through participatory observation at SD Negeri Limbangan 02. To ensure data validity, the study used source and technique triangulation. The data analysis technique in qualitative research includes four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that online games have both positive and negative effects on students’ social behavior. On the positive side, online games can enhance concentration, foster teamwork, improve communication skills, and develop empathy and respect for peers. Social interaction through gaming may also broaden students’ social networks. However, excessive use of online games has negative impacts, including reduced face-to-face interaction, increased aggressive behaviors such as irritability and the use of inappropriate language, declining politeness toward teachers and peers, decreased motivation to learn, and emotional as well as financial dependence on online gaming.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using Wordwall media on cognitive learning outcomes in elementary school mathematics instruction. The research employed a quantitative approach using a true experimental design with a posttest-only control group design. The study involved all fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Kalinyamat Kulon 01 and SD Negeri Margadana 04. A saturated sampling technique was applied, resulting in a total of 56 students participating in the study—28 students from SD Negeri Kalinyamat Kulon 01 as the experimental group and 28 students from SD Negeri Margadana 04 as the control group. Data collection instruments included multiple-choice questions to assess cognitive learning outcomes, and a self-assessment questionnaire was used to evaluate student engagement. The results showed that the t-test yielded a significance value of 0.012 (p < 0.05), indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This means that the use of Wordwall as a learning medium has a significant effect on students' cognitive learning outcomes in mathematics.
