Abstract

Writing scientific papers is still a problem for students. Many lecturers complain about the systematic thinking, the sequence of ideas, the clarity of the presentation of theoretical aspects and the depth of analysis of problems or research results of students. Similar difficulties were also found in observations and experiences of guiding PGSD students of STKIP Persada Khatulistiwa Sintang. Therefore, this activity helps students overcome these difficulties by providing assistance in writing scientific papers with the help of one of the artificial intelligence technology products, namely Chat Generative Pre-trained Transforme (ChatGPT). ChatGPT is an intelligence-based machine technology developed by OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research laboratory based in Ohio, United States. ChatGPT is designed to be able to imitate human conversation using NLP (Natural Language Processing) technology. ChatGPT has the ability to produce structured and coherent writing. Apart from the controversy over its use in the world of education, the presence of ChatGPT technology is an opportunity that can be utilized to develop students' academic abilities. Assistance to recognize and use ChatGPT Open AI wisely is expected to foster students' interest and writing skills. Of course, students are equipped with insights and scientific writing techniques so that they can use this new technology in a scientific corridor by paying attention to originality and references that can be proven scientifically.

Abstract

The implementation of the independent curriculum (IC) in Indonesia requires realizing the Pancasila student profile (PSP) at all education levels, including elementary schools (ES). Project-based learning (PjBL) is a suitable model for achieving PSP but needs reinforcement, particularly in fostering attitude and character values. Integrating the noble values of Dayak culture into PjBL is identified as a relevant approach to strengthen PSP. This study explores the perceptions of Dayak culture actors and primary education stakeholders on implementing PjBL in ES to enhance PSP. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 12 key informants and analyzed thematically using NVivo software. Findings are categorized into three aspects: planning, implementation, and evaluation of PjBL. Planning focuses on defining learning outcomes, developing tools, and ensuring student readiness. Implementation involves a 5-step PjBL process integrated with Dayak cultural values, emphasizing honesty, religion, collaboration, kinship, creativity, and independence. Challenges include limited cultural and PjBL literacy, insufficient stakeholder collaboration, and inadequate monitoring during PjBL activities. These issues need addressing to optimize PjBL effectiveness in strengthening PSP.

Abstract

This study analyzes the palantar bajampi in the basuayak death ritual of the Dayak Kanayatn community in West Kalimantan through an ecolinguistic perspective. It aims to reveal the role of ritual language and plant symbolism in mediating the relationship between humans, nature, and the spiritual world. A qualitative descriptive method was applied through participant observation, audiovisual documentation, in-depth interviews, and field notes. Data were transcribed, translated, and analyzed using a semantic matrix model comprising four elements: social sense, individual meaning, social import, and personal significance. The findings identified two main bajampi processes involving six plants—malakng, jinyalo, tamparengat, porakng, daukng jarikng, and daukng bintawa’ tuha—and kalimabo and rinyuakng leaves soaked in hot water. Both serve to heal grief, dispel nightmares, and appease spirits. The study highlights how ritual lexicon and material culture embody ecological wisdom and cosmological balance, contributing to the preservation of endangered ritual languages.
