Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi Province has great mining potential to support Indonesia's national mining. Especially in Bombana Regency, it has the potential for gold mining, but with mining activities, the mining area becomes nutrient-poor and toxic. Based on this research, we observed the levels of pH, mercury (Hg), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Copper (Cu) that accumulated in the waters around the gold mining area. The results showed that the pH level in sector 1 was 9.5 and sector 2 was 9.72. The Hg level also shows -0.0021 mg/L and -0.0014 mg/L. On the other hand, the high TSS content for sector 1 was 930 mg/L due to the sampling point being very close to the gold mining sector, while sector 2 started to decline by 410 mg/L. Cu analysis showed the same value, namely -0.00032 mg/L, it was concluded that the gold quality in sectors 1 and 2 had the same grade.

Abstract

The community health center is one of the health service units which in its activities produces solid medical waste. The Oneembute Health Center, Onembute District, Konawe Regency - Southeast Sulawesi does not yet have an incinerator to manage solid medical waste. In this study, we analyze the solid medical waste management system at the Oneembute Health Center whether it was in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No.P.56/Menlhk-Setjen/2015 regarding procedures and technical requirements for the management of hazardous waste and hazardous materials. toxic from health care facilities. The research method was applied by using the descriptive research method and qualitative approach. Based on these results showed that the implementation of the solid medical waste management system starting from the sorting stage to the final processing stage of the Onembute Health Center had not fully complied with the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number: P.56/Menlhk-Setjen/2015 concerning Procedures and Requirements. Abstract

The provision of clean water is currently very crucial when entering the rainy season. This is because the occurrence of rainwater affects the turbidity of groundwater and surface water which is usually used for daily needs by the community. Especially in the Lepo-Lepo sub-district area, RT 012-RW 006; RT 013-RW 006, and RT 014-RW 006 are often affected by the high rainy intensity and frequently flooded. So that in this study aims to determine the total clean water consumption for the next 5 years and design a reservoir building for flood victims in the Lepo - Lepo sub-district. The quantitative method is applied by calculating flood-affected communities, projecting clean water consumption, and planning the design of clean water reservoirs. Based on our results, the population projection for flood-affected communities in 2025 is 349 people. Subsequently, the total of clean water consumption for flood victims is 38,400 liters/day which same as the average daily consumption is 6.62 liters/second and the maximum daily use has required of 7.95 liters/second. Moreover, the daily water consumption for high-intensity work is 11.96 liters/second. So we calculated and estimated the reservoir volume is 17.45 m3 with a building length of 4.8 m, a width of 2.4 m., and a height of 1.50 m with the results of 28×14 meters.

Abstract

Clean water is needed in fulfilling human needs to carry out all activities so it is necessary to know how water is said to be clean in terms of quality and can be used in adequate quantities in human daily activities. In terms of quality, there are several requirements that must be met, including physical quality consisting of odor, color, and taste, chemical quality consisting of pH, hardness, and so on as well as biological quality where the water is free from disease-causing microorganisms. One of the water sources that are still widely used by the people of Pulau Tenga Village, Kec. Menui Central Sulawesi Islands is dug well water. The high hardness value in the dug well water is 518 mg/L. It can be identified that the water contains lime so it is necessary to treat water in order to meet clean water quality standards. One of the efforts that must be done is to make water treatment by filtration. The design of the filter device is made of pipe measuring 3 inches. The filter material used for the bioring, water filter, zeolite, and activated carbon which is applied in a water filtration filter device with a filtration flow rate of 0.006 L/s.

Abstract

Nanga village is a village located in East Wawonii District which is still said lagging city. There has no effective waste disposal site, and several communities choose to throw garbage into the ocean directly and the river. So that, it can be collected and managed properly and efficiently garbage by using the planning design of an integrated waste processing site (TPST) location to handle and reduce the negative impacts of garbage. The research variable refers to regional, allowance, and placement eligibilities (SNI 03-3241-1994). Based on this research, we discover the Nanga village stated in the medium classification to develop an integrated waste processing site in East Wawonii District.

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country that actively leads development in all areas of life, one of which is the economic sector. Economic development in Indonesia is growing rapidly along with the advancement of information systems that are rapidly changing with the times. With the increasing pace of development. Therefore, this study was conducted aiming to determine the quality of sea water at Batu Gong beach, Lalonggasumeeto District, Konawe Regency in terms of physical, chemical parameters and analyze the suitability of marine tourism on Batu Gong beach, Lalonggasumeeto District, Konawe Regency in terms of water quality. The results of this study are the Batu Gong beach area on three water quality parameters that exceed the sea water quality standard for marine tourism quality standards in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of the Environment number 51 of 2004, namely the brightness at 15.00 which 2nd exceed quality standards. the temperature at 10.00 is 24°C, at 12.00 it is 26°C, at 15.00 it is 27°C exceeding the quality standard. TSS at 10.00 is 2486.66 TSS at 12.00 is 2506.66 TSS at 15.00 is 3093.33 exceeds the quality standard and in the coastal waters of Batu Gong does not exceed the sea water quality standard for marine tourism in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of the Environment number 51 of 2004.

Abstract

Along with the times, the industry in Indonesia is getting higher, especially the industry in the mining sector. Exploitation of mineral resources or minerals such as sand mining is one of the supporters of the development sector both physically, economically and socially. This study aims: (1) to find out the sand mining activities in the Lemo river body in Nambo Village, (2) to determine the effect of sand mining activities on the quality of pH, TSS, brightness, and water temperature in the Lemo river. The results of the analysis of the Lemo river water sample at the Environmental Engineering laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah Kendari University, showed that the pH value of the sample point 1 was 7.3, sample II was 7.0 and sample III was 6.9. The TSS level in sample I was 393.33 mg/L, sample II was 8750 mg/L, and sample III was 8990 mg/L. The value of the brightness level of sample I is >2 m, sample II is <1 m and the brightness level of sample III is at a depth of <1 m. While for the temperature test for sample I, the water temperature is 23°C and the air temperature is 25°C, sample II is the water temperature is 27°C and the air temperature is 25°C, while for the third sample, the water temperature is 26°C and the air temperature is 24° C with each deviation of ± 3.

Abstract

The quality of clean water is an important factor in all matters, especially for the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) which will distribute clean water to the community. Maintaining the quality of clean water to avoid contaminants is something the needs to be considered. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically test water quality in order to maintain the quality of clean water obtained, such as testing the level of turbidity and Fe (iron). In this study, the result of the analysis of water quality testing parameters of turbidity and Fe (iron) at each point namely point 1, point 2, point 3, and point 4 had different result. The turbidity level obtained at point 1 (reservoir) was 0,8 NTU, increased at point 2 to 0,81 NTU and again increased at point 3 to 0,82 NTU. Then at point 4, the result obtained are back to 0,8 NTU. While the result of the analysis of the content of iron (Fe) obtained at point 1 (reservoir) is 0,006 mg/L, while at point 2 and point 3 the same results are obtained, namely 0,0052 mg/L, then at point 4 it is much increased to 0,02 mg/L. Things that effect the result of the analysis obtained at each point, including the difference in distance and contours of the soil at each point.

Abstract

The Watubangga Subdistrict is the second most densely populated area in the Baruga District. However, the sanitation and waste management in the subdistrict are still inadequate. Waste management facilities and waste collection points in the area need to be improved. BTN Gemilang 2 Residence, which is part of the subdistrict, was selected as the research and sampling location. It consists of 62 Type 36 buildings occupied by approximately 162 residents, and it is expected to experience an increase of around 148 residents. This research aims to analyze the generation, composition, and recycling potential of waste in the residential area. Data were obtained through sampling in the residential area, which were then measured and analyzed. The analysis involved sorting the waste into eight components and determining the recyclable waste potential. The research results indicate that the daily waste generation in the residential area amounts to 41.85 kg. Food waste is the most dominant component, followed by hazardous waste, plastic, paper, glass, textiles, and metal. The recycling potential of the waste is estimated to be 57.7% of the total waste generated, consisting of PET and PP plastics, bond paper, glass, metal, and food waste. This research is expected to provide valuable information and data for policy-making and stakeholders involved in waste management in the residential area.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of the Lasolo river water, compare it with the quality standard for class I PP Number 22 of 2021, and determine the Status of Water Quality using the Pollution Index (IP) method according to the Minister of Environment Decree Number 115 of 2003. Water quality measurements were carried out at 4 points while the parameters measured were pH, TSS, and Fecal Coliform. Based on the data, it was found that the water pH parameter fluctuated between 7.0 to 7.8 obtained at points ST1 to ST4 under normal conditions, which explained that Lasolo River water met the established quality standards. An increase in the TSS parameter is shown at each point with an average of 70-74 mg/L range, which explains that the TSS value exceeds the maximum water quality standard limit of 40 mg/L. In contrast, the Fecal Coliform parameter at each sampling point has a measurement value of 0 MPN/100 mL, which means it is below the standard quality limit of 100 MPN/100 mL. The water quality status of the Lasolo River was determined using the Pollution Index (IP) method and found that all sampling points were in "lightly polluted" conditions with a range of pollution values between 1.0 < Plj ≤ 5.0 according to Ministerial Decree No. LH. 115 of 2003.
