Abstract

The objective of this paper is to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis on the competitiveness of Indonesia cocoa beans post down-streaming push by the Government of Indonesia. Indonesia cocoa has been part of the top three producers and exporters of global cocoa beans and had been shifting into cocoa processed products to create more value. Quantitative analysis from upstream perspective measures the supply concentration and competitive advantage using The Four-Firm Concentration (CR4), Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI), and the model of Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) while value creation impacted by down-streaming is based on published data during the period of 2012-2021. The qualitative analysis uses the framework of Global Competitiveness Index to measure the competitiveness gap of Indonesia cocoa sector based on interview with Indonesia cocoa experts consisted of respected government officer, academic, researcher, cocoa trader association, and cocoa farmer association. The result concludes the domination of top four countries on supply side has shifted from “moderately concentrated” to “highly concentrated”; and confirms the improvement of Indonesia cocoa from value creation perspective by down-streaming the export product. Competitiveness gap analysis compares the current condition with ideal condition of industry; as a result, identify there are one area that in line with sectoral environment and three major areas that need to be resolved to close the competitiveness gap especially in the area of productivity and efficiency, institutional framework, and prices. Government should continue the capacity building program to improve smallholders’ capability and monitor the implementation of warehouse receipt program to ensure the partiality to cocoa smallholders.

Abstract

Research on young talent retention has become an important issue in human resource management, particularly in non-profit organizations that often face limitations in providing financial compensation. Therefore, organizations need to understand non-financial factors that influence job satisfaction and employees’ decisions to remain in the organization. This study aims to analyze the influence of employer branding, organizational social values, and career development on young talent retention with job satisfaction as a mediating variable at Yayasan Yuk Peduli. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 100 respondents who represent young talents in the organization. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that employer branding, organizational social values, and career development have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. However, these variables do not have a significant direct effect on talent retention, and job satisfaction does not mediate the relationship between the independent variables and retention. These findings suggest that organizational factors play a greater role in shaping job satisfaction than in encouraging long-term retention. Therefore, non-profit organizations need to develop more comprehensive talent management strategies to strengthen employee loyalty and commitment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of price, vendor image, location, physical environment, and perceived nutritional value on repurchase decisions among consumers of street food vendors in Garut Regency. The increasing popularity of street food consumption highlights the importance of understanding the factors that influence consumer loyalty and repeat purchase behavior. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 150 respondents who are consumers of street food across various areas in Garut Regency. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS software. The results indicate that price, vendor image, physical environment, and perceived nutritional value have a positive and significant effect on repurchase decisions, while location does not show a significant influence. Among the five factors, vendor image and perceived nutritional value have the most dominant impact on consumers’ decisions to repurchase food from street vendors. These findings provide important implications for street food entrepreneurs to consider pricing strategies, improve business image, choose strategic locations, maintain the physical environment of their stalls, and provide clear information about the nutritional value of their products in order to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Abstract

Background: The rapid growth of financial technology has transformed access to financial services in Indonesia, promoting greater financial inclusion. However, concerns about trust, security, financial literacy, and ease of use continue to influence user adoption. This study investigates the effects of financial literacy, trust, and perceived ease of use on fintech adoption intention by integrating the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). Objective: This research seeks to delineate the antecedents of fintech adoption intent in Indonesia by enriching the TAM–TPB architecture with financial literacy, trust, and perceived ease of use constructs, while probing the intermediary function of trust. Methods: Primary data were gathered from 315 Indonesian fintech users via a structured survey instrument. Results: The analysis revealed that financial literacy exerts favorable effects on trust, perceived ease of use, and adoption intention. Trust emerged as a consequential intermediary amplifying the pathway from financial literacy to usage intent. Additionally, PEOU was directly related to ITU without mediating the connection between FL and ITU. Trust was an important factor in ITU, specifically in developing markets where users had security concerns. The most effective method used by fintech providers to build trust was to offer open and safe platforms, as well as to enhance FL in increasing ITU. Conclusion: This work enriches the technology adoption scholarship by augmenting TAM and TPB with financial knowledge, provider confidence, and usability dimensions, offering actionable guidance for regulators and platform operators in emerging markets.
