Abstract

Pendahuluan: Filantin merupakan senyawa lignan utama pada Phyllanthus niruri yang menunjukkan aktivitas hepatoprotektif. Untuk keperluan standardisasi ekstrak, metode kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT)-densitometri yang sederhana dan selektif telah dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan filantin sebagai marker fitokimia. Tujuan: Untuk menetapkan kondisi analisis KLT-densitometri yang optimal dan mengevaluasi stabilitas filantin. Metode: Penentuan kondisi optimal analisis dilakukan dengan cara menentukan komposisi fase gerak, panjang gelombang analisis, waktu penjenuhan bejana, jarak elusi dan volume penotolan. Uji stabilitas filantin dilakukan dengan menganalisis larutan standar dan ekstrak pada 0, 4, 8 dan 24 jam. Hasil: Komposisi fase gerak terpilih yang menghasilkan pemisahan yang baik dan bentuk puncak yang simetris yaitu toluen : etil asetat : asam format (15 : 10,5 : 1,5 v/v/v) dengan panjang gelombang 279 nm, waktu penjenuhan bejana 60 menit, jarak elusi 8 cm dan volume penotolan 10 µL. Uji stabilitas larutan uji menunjukkan adanya penurunan area dan pergeseran Rf pada waktu penyimpanan. Kesimpulan: Pada penelitian ini telah diperoleh kondisi optimal untuk analisis filantin. Kondisi optimal yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk uji stabilitas tahap pre-validasi metode. Filantin tidak stabil selama penyimpanan, sehingga larutan baku dan ekstrak sebaiknya dibuat baru ketika akan dilakukan analisis untuk menjamin stabilitas.

Abstract

Taro leaf (Colocasia esculenta (L) Schott) is a plant from the Araceae family that has antihyperglycemic activity because it contains secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, tannins, saponins, polyphenols and alkaloids. This study was aimed to determine the antihyperglycemic activity of ethanol extract, methanol fraction and n-hexane fraction of taro leaves given to male white rats after streptozotocin and alloxan were induced. The experimental research method used 55 male white rats with 6 treatments. Group 1 normal, group 2 negative control CMC-Na, group 3 positive control metformin 500 mg, group 4 ethanol extract at a dose of 200 mg/Kgbb (streptozotocin induction), group 5 methanol fraction at a dose of 38, 1 mg/KgBW (streptozotocin induction), group 6 n-hexane fraction at a dose of 9,2 mg/KgBW (streptozotocin induction), group 7 ethanol extract at a dose of 200 mg/Kgbb (aloxan induction), group 8 methanol fraction at a dose of 38, 1 mg/KgBW (aloxan induction) and group 9 n-hexane fraction at a dose of 9,2 mg/KgBW (aloxan induction). Glucose levels were checked using an Easy Touch glucometer. The results showed that statistically the ethanol extract of taro leaves at a dose of 200 mg/KgBW was the most effective in lowering blood glucose in male white rats. Abstract

Background: Ketapang leaf (Terminalia catappa) can be used as a traditional medicine that has the potential activity to reduce blood glucose levels in the body. Objective: To determine the activity of extracts and fractions of ketapang leaves in reducing blood glucose levels of rats induced by alloxan. Methods: This study was an experimental study using 30 male wistar rats as test animals divided into 6 groups. Group I was healthy control, group II was negative control (K-) that given 0.5% Na CMC solution, group III was positive control (k+) that given metformin suspension, groups IV, V, and VI were given ketapang leaf extract, methanol fraction and n-hexane fraction, respectively. Results: The ethanol extract and methanol fraction of ketapang leaves can reduce blood glucose levels in white rats because they contain flavonoid compounds which are thought to have antihyperglycemic activity. Conclusions: The methanol fraction of ketapang leaves (Terminalia catappa) was most effective in reducing blood glucose levels in alloxan-induced white rats.

Abstract

Trembesi (Samanea saman (Jacq.) Merr.) is a plant from the Fabaceae family known to the public as Ki Hujan. Trembesi fruit and seeds have several chemical compounds there are alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins which have analgesic activity. This study aims to determine the dose of an extract of the fruit and seeds of trembesi which has analgesic activity but does not cause side effects in the form of irritation to the stomach of rats (Rattus norvegicus) macroscopically. A total of 40 rats were in 8 treatment groups, namely a negative control group of 0.5% CMC-Na, a positive control group of 500 mg acetosal, a group of 3, 4, 5 extracts of trembesi fruit at doses of 100, 200, 300 mg/kg BW, group 6, 7, 8 extracts of trembesi seeds at doses of 100, 200, 300 mg/kg BW. 0.7% acetic acid was induced in rats intraperitoneally as a pain inductor. The analgesic activity test was using the writhing test method and then the extract was continued for 7 days to determine the safety of the rat gastric. Data were analyzed using non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis and Man-Whitney. The results showed that the optimal ethanol extract of trembesi fruit and seeds was shown at a dose of 200 mg/kg BW with an analgesic power of 75,74% and 76,79% equivalent to acetosal which was 81.74% (Sig. > 0.05) with an ulcer index of 2 or otherwise not showed irritation of the stomach seen from the results of macroscopic observations of gastric. This study concludes that the ethanol extract of trembesi fruit and seeds at a dose of 200 mg/kg has the best analgesic activity and is safe for the stomach. Abstract

Abstrak Latar belakang: Daun talas (Colocasia Esculenta (L) Schott) merupakan tanaman dari keluarga Araceae yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antihiperglikemia karena mengandung metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, tanin, saponin, polifenol dan alkaloid. Flavonoid diduga memberikan aktivitas paling besar. Tujuan: Melakukan analisis kualitatif kandungan flavonoid dalam ekstrak etanol dan fraksi metanol daun talas. Metode: Uji kualitatif menggunakan metode KLT-Densitometri dengan kuersetin sebagai pembanding. Hasil: Berdasarkan spektra yang diperoleh dari ekstrak etanol dan fraksi metanol daun talas yang dibandingkan dengan spektra standar kuersetin diperoleh koefisien korelasi 0,999 yang menandakan bahwa spektra sampel dan standar identik. Simpulan: Ekstrak etanol dan fraksi metanol daun talas mengandung flavonoid.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Eksplorasi potensi analgetika pada tanaman yang diketahui khasiatnya secara empiris secara kontinue dilakukan. Salah satunya adalah pada daun kamboja jepang (Adenium obesum) yang teridentifikasi memiliki kandungan senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin dan saponin. Tujuan : untuk mengetahui aktivitas analgetika dan dosis optimum pada ekstrak etanol daun kamboja jepang. Metode : Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi pelarut etanol 70% dan pengujian analgetika dilakukan dengan metode writhing test penginduksi asam asetat 1%. Kelompok perlakuan dibagi dalam 3 kelompok dosis secara berturut-turut 200 mg/kgBB, 250 mg/kgBB dan 350 mg/kgBB, kelompok control negative menggunakan CMC-Na 0,5% dan kelompok kontrol positif parasetamol 500 mg/kgBB. Geliat yang muncul diamati sebagai parameter penetuan besar daya analgetika yang muncul. Hasil: Pengujian menunjukkan persentase daya analgetika kontrol positif sebesar 72,27%, dosis I sebesar 39,37%, dosis II sebesar 44,36%, dan dosis III sebesar 71,71%. Adanya aktivitas analgetika ini diduga karena adanya kandungan flavonoid dengan peran penghambatan katalisis enzim siklooksigenase. Kesimpulan : Ekstrak daun Kamboja Jepang dosis 350 mg/kgBB memiliki aktivitas analgetik yang hampir sama dengan parasetamol.

Abstract

Sargassum oligocystum is a species of brown algae that has many biological activities. The aim of this research is to analyze the polyphenol compound and antioxidant activity with methanol solvent at varying acid concentrations. Addition of hydrochloric acid in methanol solvent at various concentrations of 0.1 N; 0.2 N, 0.3 N in Sargassum oligocystum showed an increase in polyphenol compound, 2.82 mg GEA/g; 3.27 mg GEA/g and 3.88 mg GAE/g, respectively. The increase in polyphenol compound is proportional to the increase in antioxidant activity, 0.92 mg; 0.55 mg and 0.29 mg, respectively. The results showed that methanol extraction with variations of hydrochloric acid in Sargassum oligocystum contained polyphenols and antioxidant activity which increased with increasing acid concentration. Abstract

Quercetin are the main marker compounds in extracts of Sonchus arvensis which show nephrolithiasis activity. For quality control of herbal medicines, Densitometric Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method has been developed in this study using quercetin as phytochemical markers. Objective: Determination for quercetin in herbal medicines. Determination of quercetin by determining the composition of the mobile phase, the wavelength of the analysis, the saturation time, the elution distance and the volume of the spot. The parameters observed in the optimization method and stability test are area, retardation factor (Rf), peak shape and resolution (Rs). The composition of selected mobile phase which results good separation and symmetrical peak shape is chloroform: methanol: dichloromethane: acetonitrile: formic acid (6: 2: 2: 0.05: 0.05 v/v/v/v/v) with a wavelength of 335 nm, time of saturation is 30 minutes, elution distance is 8 cm, volume of spots is 10 µL and Rf 0.48. In this study, it was shown that there were no factors that had a significant effect so that the method could be applied for the determination of quercetin levels in herbal medicines.The research data showed that the range of levels on quercetin 3.26%.

Abstract

Daun patikan kebo merupakan tanaman yang mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder golongan flavonoid, terpenoid, tanin dan fenolik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui uji perbandingan pelarut metanol dan etanol 96% terhadap hasil kromatografi lapis tipis flavonoid pada tanaman daun patikan kebo (Euphorbia hirta L.). Metode daun patikan kebo diekstraksi dengan maserasi dengan pelarut yang digunakan yaitu metanol dan etanol 96%. Skrining dilakukan menggunakan reagen Pb Asetat 10% dan NaOH 20%. Kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT) menggunakan fase gerak n-butanol : asam asetat glasial : air (4:1:5) dan fase diam plat silika gel G60 F254. Hasil skrining fitokimia yaitu negatif pada penambahan reagen Pb Asetat 10% dan hasil positif pada penambahan reagen NaOH 20%. Pada hasil penelitian dianalisis terjadi perubahan warna pada plat KLT dari biru menjadi fluoresensi nyala biru muda. Kesimpulan didapatkan nilai Rf ekstrak metanol empat bercak flavonoid dengan nilai Rf 033, 0,47, 0,61 dan 0,88, sedangkan ekstrak etanol 96% terdapat tiga bercak flavonoid dengan nilai Rf 0,29, 0,46 dan 0,59. Abstract

Lip tint merupakan salah satu jenis kosmetik bibir yang memiliki tekstur ringan dan cair. Salah satu zat utama dalam lip tint adalah zat warna. Bunga rosela (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku pewarna alami karena mengandung senyawa antosianin. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kandungan total antosianin pada lip tint yang diformulasi dengan ekstrak bunga rosela sebagai pewarna alami serta membandingkan kadar total antosianin pada ekstrak bunga rosela dan lip tint. Metode analisis untuk penetapan kadar total antosianin dilakukan secara spektrofotometri UV-Vis sesuai Farmakope Herbal Indonesia II. Hasil pengujian diperoleh kadar total antosianin pada ekstrak bunga rosela dan lip tint masing-masing 5,9371 mg ⁄ L ± 0,30 dan 7,5568 mg ⁄ L ± 0,15. Perbandingan kadar total antosianin diuji statistik menggunakan uji T berpasangan dan diperoleh nilai sig. 0,038. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu kadar total antosianin dalam lip tint lebih tinggi dibandingkan ekstrak murninya. Lip tint is a type of lip cosmetic with a light and liquid texture. One of the main components in lip tint is a coloring agent. Roselle flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) can be utilized as a natural coloring ingredient due to its anthocyanin content. This study aims to determine the total anthocyanin content in lip tint formulated with roselle extract as a natural colorant and compare the total anthocyanin levels between roselle extract and lip tint. The analysis method for determining total anthocyanin content was conducted using UV-Vis spectrophotometry according to the Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia II. The results showed that the total anthocyanin content in roselle extract and lip tint was 5.9371 mg/L ± 0.30 and 7.5568 mg/L ± 0.15, respectively. The comparison of total anthocyanin levels was statistically analyzed using a paired t-test, resulting in a significance value of 0.038. The conclusion of this study is that the total anthocyanin content in the lip tint increased compared to its pure extract.
