Abstract

Abstract

Hypertension or high blood pressure is an increase systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diatolic blood pressure of more 90 mmHg on two measurement with an interval od five minutes in a state of sufficient rest. The succes of treatment in hypertension patient is influenced bye several factors, one of which is adherence to medication. Factors that influence the level of patient compliance include knowledge, motivation for treatment, and family support. The design of this study used a descriptive analytic with a cross sectional study approach, data collection was carried out by giving questionaires and conducting interviews to patient who met the criteria. The result showed that the factor that influenced the level of patient compliance were education, employment status, duration of suffering from hypertension, participation of health inscurance, level of knowledge, affordability of acces to health service, family support, and the role of health workers and motivation for treatment.

Abstract

Terminalia bellerica is well-known for producing edible fruits with pharmacotherapeutic properties. Traditional healers use these species to treat and control diabetes mellitus, its side effects, and other illnesses. Involved in this disease's pathophysiological process, extensive research has been conducted to validate and comprehend these bioactive claims scientifically. This research aims to ascertain the bioactive metabolite contents of different solvent polarities, including ethyl acetate, hexane, distilled water, and methanol. The phenol concentration was determined using the Follin-Ciocalteu procedure to be between 23.45 and 160.41 mg GAE/g. The aluminum chloride colorimetric technique measured flavonoid concentration from 88.52 to 7.12 mg QE/g. The quantitative values of tannic acid, which spanned from 0.78 to 5.32 mg TAE/g, were determined by spectrophotometry UV-VIS. The extracts' capacity to reduce free radical damage ABTS (2, 2' azinobis (3-ethylbenzene-thiazoline-6-sulfonic-acid) and DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) was examined. The extract ethyl acetate exhibited the most significant level of antioxidant activity, with IC50 values for DPPH and ABTS of 28.17 and 22.22 g/ml, respectively. Staphylococcus aureus (23 mm) and were tested for antibacterial and antifungal activity in a methanol extract (21 mm). In vitro, antidiabetic activities were assessed using α-glucoside and α-amylase inhibition. The ethyl acetate extract has α-glucoside inhibition IC50 of 23.04 g/ml and α-amylase inhibition IC50 of 25.35 g/ml. T. bellerica seed includes secondary metabolites that show promise as lead chemicals in creating potent medications.

Abstract

Research on the Formulation Physical Stability Test and hedonic test of the peel-off gel mask of binahong Leaf Extract has been conducted. This study aims to determine the best formula of the binahong Leaf Extract peel-off gel mask preparation with PVA as a filming agent. The steps of the procedure in this research include plant determination, sample preparation, making binahong leaves simplicia, making binahong leaves extract, formulation of peel off gel mask evaluation of physical properties, stability test, irritation test and hedonic test. Formulation of binahong Leaf Extract peel-off gel mask were carried out in three formulas with various variations of PVA concentrations of 5%, 5,5%, and 6%. The results of the physical properties test shows that peel-off extract masks of binahong leaves with different concentration variations differ in organoleptic, ph test, and drying time test a statistical data analysis. Based on the results of the stability test using the cycling test method with temperature ± 4̊ C and ± 40̊ C over the course of six cycles. he most stable results of existing tests are F2 and F3 showed no significant differences in each evaluation. Test irritation suggests that the gel peel-off mask was not irritating. From the hedonic test results, panelists prefer F3 compared to other formulas.

Abstract

P.falciparum and P.vivax infections elicit an immune response manifesting as inflammation, which is typified by alterations in various hematological parameters, including ESR. The objective of this study was to analyze the disparities in ESR values between P. falciparum and P. vivax infections. The study design employed an analytical approach, utilizing a cross-sectional study design. The population and sample consisted of 20 malaria patients at Biak General Hospital, including 9 confirmed P.falciparum infections and 11 P.vivax infections. The mean ESR values for P.falciparum infection were 32.8 mm/1 hour for males and 40.5 mm/1 hour for females. For P. vivax infection, the values were 36.4 mm/1 hour for males and 45.8 mm/1 hour for females. The ESR comparison between P. falciparum and P. vivax exhibited a significance value of 0.08>0.05, and the ESR comparison based on positivity level demonstrated a significance value of 0.253>0.05. A thorough examination of the results reveals that there is no statistically significant difference in the ESR values between P.falciparum and P.vivax infections in patients suffering from malaria.
