Abstract

Background: Water is a basic need of living things. Water is a liquid, when it freezes it turns into ice cubes. People often use ice cubes as a drink additive to give a fresh taste. The process of freezing ice cubes cannot destroy bacteria, many bacteria can live for a long time at low temperatures. This study aims to determine the contamination of Coliform and Escherichia coli bacteria in ice cubes sold by street vendors around Ciracas Market, East Jakarta. Methods: The MPN method is used to determine the range of Coliform bacteria in ice cube samples. E.coli contamination was detected using Eosine Methylene Blue Agar media. This study uses primary data by collecting samples and testing them in the microbiology laboratory. The sampling technique by purposive sampling. The samples used were ice cubes from street vendors around Ciracas Market is 8 samples. Results: 8 positive samples of Coliform bacteria and 5 positive samples of E.coli bacteria. In Sample 5 it has the highest value of 2900 MPN/100 mL. Sample 6 has the lowest value, namely 140 MPN/100 mL. Conclusion: The eight samples exceeded the contamination threshold allowed by Permenkes 416/Men.Kes/Per/IX/1990, that is 0/100 mL. In the EMBA media there were 5 positive samples of E.coli bacteria.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan masyarakat menjadi prioritas penting dalam upaya mensejahterakan dan mengurangi kemiskinan masyarakat, terutama pasca pandemi Covid-19. Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui UMKM Usaha Ibu Mandiri dengan pengembangan olahan minuman kelapa kopyor adalah suatu langkah strategis sebagai kontribusi SDM Perguruan Tinggi Universitas Binawan dalam menurunkan persentase penduduk miskin khususnya di Kelurahan Jatirangga. Hal ini penting untuk dilakukan mengingat persentase penduduk miskin di Bekasi yang terus meningkat dari 4,11% tahun 2018 naik menjadi 14,38% pada tahun 2020. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan wawasan pelaku UMKM dalam mengolah produk berbasis kelapa kopyor. Metode pengabdian yang dilakukan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu survei lanjut potensi UMKM, kegiatan Focus Grup Discussion, dan kegiatan workshop. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah peningkatan pemahaman terkait manfaat, potensi, dan teknik pengolahan kelapa kopyor menjadi minuman siap jual. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui hasil post-test serta antusiasme peserta selama sesi pelatihan.

Abstract

Covid-19 (Corona Virus disease 2019) is a new type of disease caused by a virus from the Corona Virus group, namely SARS-CoV-2. Covid-19 may cause respiratory system disorders, ranging from mild symptoms such as flu to lung infections, such as pneumonia. Laboratory diagnoses for Covid-19 disease generally include hematological (complete blood examinations), and molecular or a combination of serology and molecular. PCR examination that can be carried out using the Insulated Isothermal PCR and Reverse Transcription PCR methods. This research is descriptive observational research. Data were collected at Grha Kedoya Hospital, West Jakarta, North Kedoya. The result showed a sensitivity of iiPCR score 82,6%, which is relatively lower than gold-standard RT-PCR. Our research suggested that RT-PCR is still an effective and sensitive method for Covid-19 examination.

Abstract

Kesehatan adalah hal mutlak yang harus dijaga yaitu dengan memenuhi kebutuhan pokok manusia salah satunya adalah makanan. Dengan makanan nutrisi yang tercukupi upaya untuk menjaga tubuh tetap sehat dan terjaga, kemudian makanan yang mudah terjangkau dan relative murah dengan protein , lemak dan mineral yang cukup didapatkan adalah daging ayam. Namun pada aspek mikrobiologi seuatu pangan aman dikonsumsi jika produk tersebut aman dari mikroba pathogen salah satunya bakteri Salmonella Sp. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui status higienis sanitasi dan cemaran bakteri Salmonella Sp. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah observasional, menggunakan sampel sesuai dengan kriteria peneliti sebanyak 7 sampel serta mewawancarai pengelola RPA terkait dengan pertanyaan higienis dan sanitasi. Hasil penelitian yang menggunakan uji bakteri Salmonella sp (SNI 2897 : 2008) tidak didapatkan cemaran bakteri Salmonella Sp pada media serta pada hasil pengolahan data wawancara dari pengelola Rumah Pemotongan Ayam didapatkan hasil pada wawancara tentang higienis karyawan dan peralatan sebesar 80 %, Persyaratan peralatan 87,5%, persyaratan sarana 80% dan Persyaratan pengolahan daging 60 % keseluruhan hasil dari wawancara RPA hampir memenuhi syarat dari SNI 01-6160-1999. Kesimpulan dari tugas akhir ini adalah Sebanyak 7 sampel dinyatakan tidak tercemar bakteri Salmonella Sp, kemudian pada beberapa sampel ditemukan dugaan bakteri lain yang tumbuh disalah satu media serta kuisioner yang didapat berdasarkan wawancara hampir memenuhi persyaratan.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is caused by the pancreas not being able to produce the insulin hormone that regulates glucose in the body, resulting in hyperglycemia which is associated with long-term damage, dysfunction, failure of various organs (eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, and blood vessels). Diabetes is included as a non-communicable disease but has a priority for follow-up because the number of cases and its prevalence has continued to increase over the last few decades. Examination of diabetes mellitus can be done with blood samples and urine samples. Examination of diabetes mellitus with urine samples was carried out using the dipstick method to determine the parameters of urine glucose and urine specific gravity. Objective: To determine the correlation of urine glucose and urine specific gravity in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: Correlative analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. This study was conducted in January-September 2021 with samples of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients who examined urine glucose and urine specific gravity with the dipstick method. Results: The results of the correlation test of urine glucose and urine specific gravity in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus are 0.065 (> 0.05) which means that there is no correlation between urine glucose and urine specific gravity in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The results of the correlation coefficient of urine glucose and specific gravity urine in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus is 0.189 which is included in the range of weak correlation coefficients. Conclusion: Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is no significant correlation between urine glucose and urine specific gravity in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Background: Synthetic media for microbial growth are expensive, thus opening the way for making bacterial growth media using local raw materials at low prices. Jicama is one of the local raw materials that can be used as natural media for the growth of microorganisms. It contains a source of carbohydrates needed for the development of microorganisms. Aims: This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of Jicama, which has the potential to grow Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Methods: This study used experimental research with the Static Group Comparison method. In this study, the experimental group Staphylococcus aureus was instilled in Jicama solid media with various concentrations (2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%) with five repetitions. The results: The results showed that the average number of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria colonies in jicama flour with a concentration of 2% was 0, a concentration of 3% was 0, a concentration of 4% was 0.8, a concentration of 5% was 1.4, and at a concentration of 6% was 2.2. The results of the Kruskal-Wallis test with a degree of confidence of 0.05 obtained a p-value = 0.000 where the p-value 0.05 so that it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of variations in the concentration of jicama flour on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Conclusions: For future researchers, it is necessary to conduct further research using higher concentrations of jicama flour and by adding other nutrients, such as animal protein, so that the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria is more optimal.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran siswa Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu (SDIT) Amal Mulia Kota Depok mengenai pentingnya penerapan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) sebagai upaya pencegahan penyakit melalui kebersihan diri, toilet, dan penggunaan alas kaki. Metode kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan edukatif-partisipatif yang melibatkan 98 siswa kelas 4 dan 6 secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran melalui edukasi interaktif, simulasi, permainan edukatif, serta diskusi dan tanya jawab. Kegiatan diawali dengan pre-test untuk mengukur pengetahuan awal, dilanjutkan dengan penyampaian materi dan post-test untuk menilai peningkatan pengetahuan setelah edukasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap pentingnya PHBS. Pengetahuan siswa tentang pentingnya menggunakan alas kaki meningkat dari 85% menjadi 92%, dan pengetahuan tentang bahaya tidak menggunakan alas kaki naik dari 92% menjadi 98%. Pengetahuan mengenai kebersihan toilet juga meningkat dari 77% menjadi 83%, dan kesadaran akan bahaya tidak menjaga kebersihan toilet meningkat dari 83% menjadi 88%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa metode edukatif-partisipatif efektif dalam menumbuhkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat di lingkungan sekolah.
