The Influence of Visa-on-Arrival and Digital Nomad Policies on Local Economic Growth: A Study on Super Priority Tourism Destinations in Post-G20 Indonesia Maharani, Aulia

Abstract

Indonesia's G20 Presidency in 2022 was followed by a breakthrough policy to expand Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) and was taken advantage of by the global digital nomad wave. This phenomenon has the potential to be a catalyst for economic recovery, especially in Super Priority Tourism Destinations, but its empirical impact has not been measured. This study aims to analyze the influence of VoA and digital nomad policies on local economic growth, map their contributions, and evaluate their effectiveness in post-G20 priority destinations. The study uses a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data (questionnaires, BPS time series data) were analyzed statistically descriptive and inferential, while qualitative data (interviews, FGDs) were analyzed thematically. The study was conducted in five Super Priority Destinations. The VoA policy contributed significantly to the recovery of tourist visits (+250.6% yoy, 2022), but the impact was uneven and concentrated in destinations with mature infrastructure such as Bali. Digital nomads contribute 2.8 times more than ordinary tourists with unique spending patterns (long-term rentals, co-working spaces, daily necessities), creating a steady economic flow but fueling gentrification challenges. There is a positive synergy between VoA and digital nomads in boosting the local economy. For inclusive and sustainable growth, policy interventions such as special digital nomad visas, MSME liaison programs, and gentrification mitigation regulations are needed. The implications of the findings are the basis for strategic policy recommendations for stakeholders.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan dan menganalisis pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan transaksional, kepuasan kerja dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan di PT Berkah Karya Sahabat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik sampling jenuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan gaya kepemimpinan transaksional, kepuasan kerja dan motivasi kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Berkah Karya Sahabat, gaya kepemimpinan transaksional tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Berkah Karya Sahabat, kepuasan kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Berkah Karya Sahabat, dan motivasi kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Berkah Karya Sahabat.

Abstract

Masa remaja merupakan masa di mana tubuh mengalami perubahan yang signifikan. Perubahan ini dapat dilihat dari perubahan fisiologis dan psikologis yang cepat serta stabilitas perkembangan tubuh. Peralihan dari masa anak-anak menuju masa dewasa dikenal sebagai usia remaja, yang mana melibatkan perubahan signifikan dalam hal fisik dan hormonal. Remaja putri mempunyai risiko terkena anemia dua kali lebih tinggi dibandingkan laki-laki, hal ini disebabkan adanya pendarahan  atau menstruasi bulanan yang terjadi pada wanita. Kurangnya pengetahuan dan kesadaran membuat remaja putri rentan mengalami anemia. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan desain penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 30 Medan pada bulan November 2023, dengan populasi seluruh remaja putri di SMP Negeri 30 Medan dengan 131 responden sebagai sampel, dan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel metode total sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner mengenai anemia gizi dan dianalisis secara univariat. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan distribusi frekuensi usia pada responden yang mendominasi yakni usia 14 tahun sebanyak 74 responden (56,5%). Dan distribusi frekuensi tingkat kategori pengetahuan responden yang mendominasi yakni kategori pengetahuan baik sebanyak 91 responden (69,5%). Simpulan: Dari hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan pada remaja putri di SMP Negeri 30 Medan mayoritas baik yakni sebanyak 91 responden (69,5%). Selain itu, tingkat pengetahuan juga mempengaruhi kejadian anemia pada remaja putri, selain faktor pengetahuan, anemia juga dapat di pengaruhi oleh faktor usia remaja putri yang sedang dalam masa pertumbuhan dan perkembangan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Flipped Classroom model in elementary education through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The study is motivated by the need for innovative learning models that can enhance students’ motivation, engagement, and academic achievement in the context of 21st-century education. Data were collected from 86 Scopus-indexed articles published between 2020 and 2024 using the Publish or Perish software, and subsequently screened following the PRISMA guidelines. A total of 35 articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed using a bibliometric approach with the aid of VOSviewer software. The results reveal that the Flipped Classroom model has a positive impact on improving students’ learning motivation, engagement, and conceptual understanding at the elementary school level. The publication trend showed a significant increase in 2021, mainly influenced by the widespread adoption of distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Indonesia, Malaysia, and Turkey emerged as the top three contributing countries in this research area. However, several challenges remain, including limited technological infrastructure, teachers’ readiness in designing digital learning, and the need for parental support at home. Overall, this study confirms that the Flipped Classroom is an effective instructional strategy to foster 21st-century skills in elementary education. The findings are expected to serve as a valuable reference for teachers, schools, and policymakers in developing innovative learning strategies that align with technological advancements and the characteristics of elementary school learners.
