Abstract

This study aims to analyze customer perceptions of the use of the Sharia Pawnshop application, focusing on the differences between the young age group (18-35 years) and the elderly age group (over 50 years) at the Sharia Pawnshop Branch in Meulaboh. The digital transformation in Sharia financial services has changed the way the community accesses services; however, the adoption of this digital application shows significant differences based on age. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through semi-structured interviews and direct observation of 23 customers. The results indicate that younger customers tend to be more positive and active in using the application, utilizing features such as online pawn booking and installment payments. In contrast, elderly customers show high resistance, attributed to limited technological knowledge and concerns about data security. Support from staff in the digitalization process has proven to be crucial in bridging the existing digital divide. This study emphasizes the need for an educational and inclusive approach in digital transformation so that all age groups can benefit from Sharia financial services in the digital era. The findings are expected to provide strategic recommendations for the Sharia Pawnshop in designing more adaptive and inclusive services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of the wakalah wal murabahah contract in the Islamic microfinance program of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) Mekaar, Meulaboh Branch, located in Pasi Mesjid Village, West Aceh, with reference to the provisions of the National Sharia Board Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) Fatwa No. 04/DSN-MUI/IV/2000. The Mekaar program empowers underprivileged women through group-based, collateral-free business capital financing, accompanied by business mentoring. This research adopts a qualitative case study approach, employing observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis of the financing contracts. The findings reveal that financing through the wakalah wal murabahah scheme generally increases income and fosters microenterprise independence. However, several practices were inconsistent with Sharia principles, including executing the murabahah contract before the goods were legally owned by the institution and disbursing cash without a clear separation between the wakalah and murabahah stages. Such practices risk transforming the contract into a disguised qardh (loan), thereby contravening the principles of fiqh al-mu'amalah. These findings highlight the importance of separating contract stages into their respective pillars (arkan) and conditions (shurut), ensuring the institution's legitimate ownership of goods prior to the murabahah contract, issuing invoices in the institution’s name, and providing continuous Sharia education for staff and clients. The study recommends that PT PNM Mekaar enhance its Sharia compliance mechanisms by ensuring clear separation between wakalah and murabahah stages, issuing invoices in the institution’s name, and providing continuous Sharia education for both officers and clients. These measures are expected to improve transparency, fairness, and adherence to DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 04/DSN-MUI/IV/2000.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine customer opinions of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) business capital finance in West Aceh Regency. This study employs a qualitative methodology utilising in-depth interviews with seven informants purposefully recruited from diverse business sectors. The results indicate that most customers have a positive perception of BSI’s financing, particularly regarding procedural ease, contract transparency, flexible installment tenors, and positive impacts on business growth. However, varied experiences were found concerning post-disbursement services. The discussion connects these findings with the Theory of Planned Behavior and prior studies, emphasizing that positive perceptions are shaped through the integration of functional, procedural, and relational dimensions. This study concludes that BSI’s financing model represents a participatory and contextual application of Islamic finance and offers strategic implications for strengthening service models based on local values.

Abstract

This study uses desk research methodology to examine asset and liability management in Islamic banks. The main objective of this study is to understand the principles and mechanisms of asset and liability management, the differences between Islamic banks and conventional banks, the workings and efficiency of asset and liability management, and the risks and difficulties faced by Islamic banks. The research findings show that Islamic banks handle assets and liabilities in accordance with sharia principles such as the prohibition of usury and over- speculation, using sharia channels such as murabahah, mudarabah, and ijarah. The differences with conventional banks are mostly found in the operational and revenue streams. Islamic banking generally aims to achieve optimal efficiency in managing assets and liabilities, despite various risks and challenges such as adverse economic conditions and conflicts with conventional banks. Therefore, the management of assets and liabilities in Islamic banks has unique characteristics that necessitate the development of specialized lending strategies to achieve stability and efficiency. Abstract

     AbstractThis study aims to analyze the level of acceptance in the use of the pop-up donation feature in the Byond Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) application using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) approach. In the Byond BSI application, there is a pop-up donation feature that is useful for transactions so that customers are more active in paying donations online. To assess the level of customer satisfaction with the pop-up donation in the Byond BSI application, the author analyzed using the TAM method approach created by Davis (1989). This method provides a basic theory for observing and understanding user behavior in receiving and using information systems. Data collection using Google Forms in the form of questionnaires distributed to customers or clients who use the Byond BSI application which includes 100 respondents. Previously, the instrument will be tested first with the Validity Test and Reliability Test. The Validity Test to ensure each question is indeed appropriate to measure the intended variable. The test results show that all items have a higher correlation than the r table (0.195), so they are declared valid. And the Reliability Test, to ensure the consistency of the answers. The Cronbach's Alpha test results showed values above 0.70 for all variables, thus the instrument is reliable. The results showed that Perceived Ease of Use had a percentage of 42%, the Perceived Usefulness indicator with a percentage of 37%, then the Perceived Behavioral Interest indicator obtained a percentage of 36%. Based on the descriptive analysis that has been done, the users of the pop-up infak feature on the Byond BSI application have not met the satisfaction standard so that it is not very well received by Byond application users.      Keywords: Byond BSI application, pop-up Infak, TAM method        AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat penerimaan dalam penggunaan fitur pop-up infak di aplikasi Byond Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Pada aplikasi Byond BSI terdapat fitur pop-up infak yang berguna untuk bertransaksi agar nasabah lebih aktif menunaikan infak secara online. Untuk menilai tingkat kepuasan nasabah terhadap pop-up infak pada aplikasi byond BSI, penulis menganalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan metode TAM yang diciptakan oleh Davis (1989). Metode ini memberikan teori dasar untuk mengamati dan memahami perilaku pengguna dalam menerima serta menggunakan sistem informasi. Pengumpulan data dengan Google Form berupa kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada pelanggan atau nasabah yang menggunakan aplikasi byond Bsi yang mencakup 100 responden. Sebelumnya instrumen tersebut akan di uji terlebih dahulu dengan Uji Validitas dan Uji Reliabilitas. Uji Validitas untuk memastikan setiap pertanyaan memang layak untuk mengukur variabel yang dimaksud. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan semua item memiliki korelasi lebih tinggi dari r tabel (0,195), sehingga dinyatakan valid. Dan Uji Reliabilitas, untuk memastikan konsistensi jawaban. Hasil uji dengan Cronbach’s Alpha menunjukkan nilai di atas 0,70 untuk semua variabel, sehingga instrumen reliabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Persepsi Kemudahan Pemakaian memiliki persentase 42%, indikator Persepsi Terhadap Kemanfaatan dengan hasil presentase sejumlah 37%, selanjutnya pada indikator Persepsi Minat Perilaku diperoleh presentase sebesar 36%. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif yang telah dilakukan bahwa pengguna fitur pop-up infak pada aplikasi byond bsi belum memenuhi standart kepuasan sehingga tidak begitu diterima oleh pengguna aplikasi Byond.      Kata Kunci: aplikasi Byond BSI, metode TAM, pop-up Infak,

Abstract

Peningkatan mutu pendidikan merupakan tantangan strategis bagi perguruan tinggi, khususnya pada Program Studi Perbankan Syariah yang dituntut adaptif terhadap perkembangan industri dan standar akademik nasional. Program Studi Perbankan Syariah STAIN Meulaboh perlu melakukan upaya sistematis untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan tata kelola akademik. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan Perbankan Syariah STAIN Meulaboh melalui benchmarking akademik ke Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) dan Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara (UINSU). Metode yang digunakan adalah benchmarking akademik dengan pendekatan pembelajaran kelembagaan, yang dilaksanakan melalui diskusi akademik, observasi pengelolaan program studi, serta studi dokumen kurikulum dan sistem penjaminan mutu. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 19–20 November 2025 dengan melibatkan dosen Program Studi Perbankan Syariah STAIN Meulaboh dan mitra akademik dari UMSU dan UINSU. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman tim pengabdian terhadap praktik terbaik dalam pengelolaan kurikulum, metode pembelajaran, serta sistem penjaminan mutu pendidikan Perbankan Syariah. Selain itu, kegiatan ini menghasilkan rekomendasi strategis yang dapat diimplementasikan dalam pengembangan Program Studi Perbankan Syariah STAIN Meulaboh. Kegiatan benchmarking ini berkontribusi positif dalam memperkuat budaya mutu dan daya saing program studi secara berkelanjutan.
