Abstract

Latar belakang: Proses pembuatan obat tradisonal memerlukan karakter spesifik yang dapat menjamin kualitas senyawa bioaktif tanaman sehingga memiliki aktivitas farmakologi. Ekstrak yang berkualitas adalah ekstrak yang memenuhi persyaratan standar parameter yang tercantum dalam Farmakope Herbal Indonesia. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui karakterisasi spesifik ekstrak terpurifikasi kelopak rosella dan pengaruhnya terhadap organ hepar Tikus Wistar secara makroskopis. Metode: Purifikasi ekstrak, karakterisasi parameter spesifik dan pengamatan organ hepar. Analisis data secara deskriptif. Hasil: Parameter sari larut air dengan kadar 24,9 % dan kadar sari larut dalam etanol kadar 30,6%. Deteksi kandungan flavonoid menunjukkan Rf senyawa bioaktif sama dengan Rf quersetin. Simpulan dan saran: Karakter spesifik ekstrak terpurifikasi kelopak rosella memenuhi persyaratan FHI dan melalui pemberian oral ekstrak tidak mempengaruhi organ hepar tikus Wistar. Memerlukan uji aktivitas farmakologi terhadap kelompok hewan uji.

Abstract

The characterization was ensuring quality of traditional raw materials for drug preparations. Purification extract was a part of extract which released from compounds it was more effective for pharmacological activities. The effectivity an antihypertensive was still very rarely proven by use of traditional ingredients, especially from purified rosella. The aim of the study is characterization and knowing of calyx purified extract of rosella which is suspected to have antihypertensive activity in vivo. The method was done by purifying, characterization, determined of quercetin, and antihypertensive activity. Positive control (captopril), negative (CMC Na 0,5%), test of 12,5 dan 25 mg/kg BB. Descriptive data analysis for characterization, linear regression analysis of quercetin and antihypertensive statistical testing. The results for characterization of 1.41% water content, specific gravity 0.63% w / v, drying losses 2.82% and 2.31%. Levels of quersetin of 7.02 ± 0.15. The activity as antihypertensive result decrease in blood pressure which is indicated by a significant difference between the positive control and the test group. The 25 mg / kg body weight ETKR dose is an effective dose in reducing blood pressure. The non-specific character of purified extract of rosella calyx, FHI and through oral administration of ETKR can reduce the blood pressure of test animals with an effective dose of 25mg / kgBB. This research still requires  identification of bioactive compounds responsible for these activities.

Abstract

Traditional plants in Indonesia, have a variety of benefits to overcome various diseases. For example, sweet corn hair waste (Zea mays L), was the residue from corn which is usually used for culinary purposes. Corn silk in previous studies was thought to have pharmacological activity as anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, and antihypertensive. This study aims to determine the characterization of the ethanol extract of sweet corn hair waste in a hilly area of Kediri, East Java. Characterization to determine the content of active compounds in the ethanol extract of sweet corn hair waste and to ensure the quality of corn hair waste extract when it will be used as raw material for traditional medicine. Characterization includes specific parameters such as screening for metabolites in plant extracts using Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and non-specific parameters including determination of water content and specific gravity. The sample used was ethanol extract of sweet corn hair waste (EELRJM) obtained from the hilly area of Kediri, East Java. The results of the specific parameters of the secondary metabolite compound test by TLC indicated that EELRJM contains quercetin compounds of the flavonoid group. Non-specific parameters resulted that the water content of EELRJM did not meet the requirements of the extract monograph because it was suspected that there was an influence on the weather including rainfall.

Abstract

Free radicals might cause harmful effects on the skin, such as skin irritation, change of skin color, and worst effect. Phenolics play a role as effective sunscreen and antioxidants to prevent UV radiation effects. Corn silk contains flavonoids, which are antioxidants that are potential as sunscreen. Phenolic compounds can be identified by phytochemical screening using the tube method. The study aims to know the antioxidant activity of purified extract of roasted corn silks (Zea Mays L. saccharata) and know the SPF level of the cream preparation. The study was conducted by collecting samples of roasted corn silks waste to make dried simplicial, then extracting it with 70% ethanol as solvent, evaporated till condensed extract is gotten. The obtained extract was then purified with n-hexane solvent. The antioxidant activity test was conducted by using the DPPH method. The cream of the purified extract was made in three formulations: 1%, 5%, and 10% concentration. Its SPF levels were then evaluated. The results showed the purified corn silks extract had an IC50 value of 256.66 µg/mL better compared to corn silks ethanol extract having an IC50 value of 356.17 µg/mL including the weak antioxidant category. Meanwhile, the SPF level test results for concentration of 1%, 5%, and 10%  are 1.27 ; 2.41; and 5.94 respectively.

Abstract

Daun srikaya mengandung senyawa fenolik dan flavonoid yang dapat digunakan sebagai antioksidan, antidiabetik, hepatoprotektif, antitumor. Fermentasi menyebabkan perubahan senyawa kimia sehingga mempengaruhi bioaktivitas tanaman. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan total fenolik dan flavonoid pada ekstrak daun srikaya dan ekstrak daun srikaya terfermentasi probiotik dengan lama fermentasi 24, 48 dan 72 jam. Ekstraksi daun srikaya dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Penetapan kandungan total fenolik dan flavonoid menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Kandungan total fenolik ditetapkan dengan asam galat konsentrasi baku seri 40, 55, 70, 85, 100 ppm, penentuan kandungan total flavonoid dengan kuersetin konsentrasi 40, 65, 90, 115, 140 ppm. Hasil penetapan kandungan total fenolik ekstrak adalah 4,028±0,064 mgGAE/g, sedangkan kandungannya pada ekstrak terfermentasi berturut-turut pada 24, 48, 72 jam yaitu 8,817±0,079; 7,391±0,018 dan 5,997±0,078 mgGAE/g. Kandungan total flavonoid ekstrak 3,861±0,041 mgQE/g, pada ekstrak terfermentasi jam ke-24, 48, 72 berturut-turut yaitu 17,022±0,392; 11,691±0,268 dan 9,227±0,243 mgQE/g. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah proses dan lama fermentasi mempengaruhi kandungan total fenolik dan flavonoid pada ekstrak daun srikaya dan ekstrak daun srikaya terfermentasi.

Abstract

Parkia roxburghii G.Don seeds have popular folkloric ethnomedicinal use in the treatment of many diseases especially in Indonesia. Methanol, distilled water, n-hexane, and ethyl acetate extracts from the seeds of Parkia roxburghii were assayed for secondary metabolism quantitative, antioxidant, antidiabetic and antibacterial and activities as well as determined the presence of phytochemical constituents. The extracts were investigated for antioxidant possession by DPPH free-radical (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) and ABTS (2,2’ Azinobis (3-ethylbenz-thiazoline-6-sulfonic-acid) scavenging ability, Antidiabetic potential was invitro assayed by α-amylase inhibition and α-glucosyde inhibition while antibacterially by applying the disk diffusion procedure, as well as refined for the attendance of bioavailable phytochemical components. The result showed the existence of phytochemical components in diverse extracts could attribution free scavenging, antidiabetic and antimicrobial activities. The qualitative results all extracts of Parkia roxburghii seeds have expressed the presence of alkaloid, flavonoid, steroid, terpenoids, saponins and tannin whereas, methanol, distilled water, and n-hexane extracts expressed the presence of anthraquinones, The entire phenolic contents were examined as attested by the Follin-Ciocalteu methods, which varied from 43.82 - 137.42 mg GAE/g. The entire flavonoid compounds were measured with aluminum chloride colorimetric procedure, which varied from 20.42 – 45.90 mg QEDW/g. The total phenolic compound were measure Follin Ciocalteu which varied from 43.82-137.42 mg/g. The alkaloid, saponin, tanic acid, terpenoid and cardiac glycoside quantitative were measured with spectrofotometri UV-VIS which varied from 16.34 – 48.90 mg for alkaloid. The Saponin content varied 1.76 – 16.04 mg/g. Tanic acid which varied 0.21 – 7.29 mg/g. Terpenoid which varied 50.12 – 91.02 mg/g. Cardiac glycoside which varied 7.24-36.53 mg/g. The potential antioxidant were measured with ABTS and DPPH method, the methanol extract is the potential antioxidant. Antidiabetic potential were measured with alfa amylase and alfa glucosyde inhibition, the best antidiabetic is methanol extract. The potential antibacterial and antifungal was the methanol extract for Eschericia Coli and Candida Albicans. The conclusion established the tremendous perspective of the Parkia roxburghii seeds as another option fountain of food supplement, as well as drug components.

Abstract

Tanaman herbal di Indonesia saat ini berkembang dengan pesat dan banyak diminati untuk pengobatan. Contoh tanaman herbal yang mudah dibudidayakan adalah beluntas dengan berbagai kandungan senyawa kimia untuk mengobati berbagai jenis penyakit. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui kandungan senyawa metabolit ekstrak etanol daun beluntas dan pengujian parameter spesifik dan non spesifiknya. Metode penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara pengumpulan bahan lalu pembuatan ekstrak dan identifikasi senyawa. Beluntas diperoleh dari daerah Ngantru kabupaten Tulungagung propinsi Jawa Timur. Sampel yang digunakan adalah bagian daun dibuat simplisia dan dilakukan ekstraksi dengan etanol 50%. Hasil diperoleh bahwa dari pengujian senyawa metabolit dengan skrining fitokimia berupa flavonoid, saponin dna tannin. Identifikasi senyawa kimia dengan KLT diduga bahwa ekstrak daun beluntas mengandung flavonoid yang mirip dengan kuersetin. Hal ini berpengaruh pada bentuk dan warna bercak serta harga Rf yang sama antara sampel dengan kuersetin. Hasil pengujian bobot jenis dan kadar air sesuai dan memenuhi persyaratan yang tercantum dalam Farmakope Herbal Indonesia. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah hasil identifikasi senyawa metabolit ekstrak daun bekuntas terdiri dari flavonoid, tannin dan saponin, uji penegasan KLT untuk senyawa kimia daun beluntas menghasilkan bentuk dan warna bercak serta harga Rf sama dengan kuersetin.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Aktivitas enzim hati Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase (SGOT) dan Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (SGPT) akan meningkat ketika terjadi infeksi. Tujuan: untuk mengetahui korelasi NLR  terhadap SGOT dan SGPT pada Pasien Covid-19 Sebagai Indikator Inflamasi Organ Hati. Metode: Desain penelitian menggunakan Study cross sectional dan tehnik sampling accidental. Responden berjumlah 38 pasien Covid-19 di rumah sakit Umum Daerah Nganjuk dengan kriteria inklusi pasien Covid-19 tidak memiliki riwayat penyakit liver dan kriteria ekslusi adalah pasien covid 19 dengan penyakit infeksi lain (Tuberculosis, Tipoid, demam dengue) dan penyakit autoimun. Hasil: Diperoleh nilai rata-rata NLR 7,0 >3,13 dengan 74% meningkat,Kadar rata-rata SGPT 58,5 UI dan 61% mengalami peningkatan, sedang rata-rata SGPT 46,7 UI dan 76% berada di rentang normal. Berdasarkan uji perason nilai NLR terhadap SGOT ( sig = 0,629 > 0,05 dan r = 0,081) dan  NLR terhadap SGPT (sig = 0,575 >0,05 dan r= 0,094). Simpulan: tidak ada korelasi antara NLR terhadap SGOT dan SGPT pada pasien Covid-19

Abstract

The herbal drink in Indonesia has a fast development for its easy usage and minimum side effect. Some house plants have metabolite compounds with an important role as antiviral such as rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa), Curcuma domestica Val, Zingiber officinale, Cymbopogon citratus, and Pandanus amaryllifolius R. The purpose of our community empowerment activities was to introduce the benefits of house plants for supporting health, particularly as an antiviral during a pandemic. The method of community empowerment activities was carried out by explaining the example of home plants, their bioactive compound content, and their health benefits. The community was also taught to make simple and practical healthy drinks. The results showed that the community became more aware of the benefits of roselle and turmeric so that they did not doubt making a healthy drink to be consumed regularly during the pandemic. The results showed that about 85% of the community understood the benefits, and 90% were able to make herbal drinks. The conclusions of these community empowerment activities were going well. The community understood the benefits of house plants as an antiviral during a pandemic and succeeded in making simple healthy drinks from house plants.

Abstract

Indonesia merupaka negara terbesar ketujuh dengan jumlah spesies mencapai 20.000, di mana 40% di antaranya adalah tumbuhan endemik atau berasal dari Indonesia. Beluntas (Pluchea indica (L.)). merupakan tanaman yang umum tumbuh di sekitar pekarangan rumah dan mudah ditanam. Tanaman ini banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sebagai obat tradisional yang dikonsumsi dalam bentuk lalapan atau rebusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil identifikasi senyawa metabolit sekunder ekstrak terpurifikasi daun beluntas dengan KLT menggunakan perbedaan eluen. Proses ekstraksi menggunakan etanol 70% dan metode maserasi selama 3x24 jam. Purifikasi ekstrak dilakukan menggunakan pelarut nonpolar n-heksan untuk menghilangkan senyawa metabolit sekunder yang tidak diinginkan. Hasil identifikasi sekunder ekstrak etanol dan ekstrak terpurifikasi daun beluntas menggunakan beberapa jenis pelarut, ditemukan bahwa ketepatan antara Rf ETDB dan kuersetin menggunakan campuran eluen yang terdiri dari toluen:etil asetat (7:3) adalah sebesar 0,87.
