Abstract

Komposisi media tanam dan interval pemberian air adalah dua faktor penting dalam budidaya stevia(Stevia rebaudiana B.) dalam polybag dengan irigasi tetes. Percobaan dilakukan untuk mengkaji pengaruh komposisi media tanam dan interval pemberian air dengan irigaasi tetes terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil stevia. Rancangan percobaan menggunakan rancangan petak terbagi dengan tiga ulangan di Desa Tawangargo, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur, Indonesia, pada tahun 2021 . Faktor pertama adalah komposisi media tanam sebagai anak petak yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu M0(100% Tanah), M1(90% Tanah + 10% Kompos), M2(90% Tanah + 10% Cocopeat), dan M3(90% Tanah + 5% Kompos + 5% Cocopeat). Faktor kedua sebebagai petak utama adalah Interval Pemberian Air dengan irigasi tetes yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu A1(1 hari sekali), A2(2 hari sekali), A3(3 hari sekali). Pertumbuhan dan hasil stevia dinilai berdasarkan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, jumlah cabang, berat segar daun, berat segar total, dan berat kering daun tanaman. hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat interaksi antara kedua faktor. Komposisi media tanam M3(90% Tanah + 5% Kompos + 5% Cocopeat) memberikan hasil terbaik pada seluruh variabel pengamatan. Interval pemberian air A3(3 hari sekali) memberikan hasil terbaik pada tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah cabang, berat segar daun, berat segar total, dan berat kering daun.

Abstract

Tomat (Solanum lycopersicum L.) terus mengalami peningkatan produksi seiring tingginya permintaan. Produksi tinggi yang berkualitas menuntut adanya pengembangan metode dan salah satu solusinya yaitu menggunakan Dutch Bucket Hydroponic System. Metode ini membutuhkan sebuah penelitian dengan tujuan mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan yang diberikan dan perlakuan terbaik untuk rekomendasi bagi petani maupun praktisi. Rancangan penelitian berbasis metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan dua perlakuan yaitu variasi media tanam yaitu cocopeat (A1), hidroton (A2), dan rockwool (A3) sedangkan variasi konsentrasi nutrisi AB mix yaitu 1000 ppm (A1), 2000 ppm (A2), dan 3000 ppm (A3). Penelitian dilakukan dengan 9 kombinasi perlakuan dan 3 ulangan dengan mengamati diameter batang, tinggi tanaman, jumlah bunga, jumlah buah, berat segar tanaman, berat basah akar, dan berat buah pertanaman. Lokasi penelitiam di Agrotechnopark Universitas Jember pada bulan Januari-April 2022 dengan metode ANOVA dan DMRT. Perlakuan jenis media tanam, konsentrasi nutrisi AB mix, dan interaksi keduanya berpengaruh signifikan terhadap parameter penelitian. Hasil terbaik pada berbagai perlakuan terdapat pada media tanam cocopeat dan konsentrasi nutrisi 2000 ppm yang dapat menjadi rekomendasi dalam budidaya tanaman tomat dengan sistem hidroponik dutch bucket.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan konsep pertanian secara kreatif kepada siswa-siswa SD melalui pembuatan buku bacaan anak yang mengintegrasikan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (AI). Studi ini dilakukan di SDN Tamansari 02 Wuluhan, Kabupaten Jember. Dalam kegiatan ini, buku bacaan anak tentang pertanian dirancang dengan bantuan AI untuk membuat konten yang lebih menarik dan edukatif. Buku ini berfokus pada pengenalan dasar-dasar pertanian dan pentingnya pertanian bagi kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan buku bacaan berbasis AI meningkatkan minat siswa dalam mempelajari pertanian dan membantu mereka memahami konsep-konsep pertanian dengan cara yang lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan. Dengan demikian, penggunaan teknologi AI dalam pembuatan bahan ajar seperti buku bacaan anak dapat menjadi salah satu solusi inovatif untuk meningkatkan literasi dan pemahaman siswa terhadap sektor pertanian.

Abstract

Ardirejo Village, Panji Subdistrict, is one of the villages located in the center of Situbondo Regency. Limited agricultural land is the main challenge in meeting the food needs of the local community. An innovative approach to maximizing land use is required, one of which is through vertical farming technology. A community service program was conducted in Ardirejo Village to support the community’s food security. By involving active participation from the local community, this program not only provides practical solutions but also aims to empower the community to produce food independently. First, a comprehensive survey was conducted to identify the main issues and the characteristics of the land in Ardirejo Village. The results of the situational analysis were used to select plants suitable for the land conditions and to design an efficient vertical farming structure. Afterward, workshops were held for the local women’s organization (PKK) and the community on the concept of vertical farming, appropriate plant selection, and necessary care techniques. Regular monitoring and mentoring were provided to the community to ensure the smooth implementation of vertical farming practices. This program also incorporates ongoing education and extension approaches to ensure the community’s knowledge continues to grow. With a better understanding of vertical farming and sustainable agricultural practices, the community is expected to actively manage and utilize this technology."

Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is a leaf vegetable that has a high level of consumer demand and commercial value and can be cultivated using a combination of hydroponic substrate and drip irrigation methods. This research aims to determine the effect of the time interval for providing nutrients on the growth and harvest results of three lettuce plant varieties. Plants were cultivated on cocopeat and husk charcoal media (ratio 1:3) and arranged using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of two treatments. The first treatment is the nutritional interval which consists of an interval of 2 hours with a discharge of 17 ml (I1), 3 hours with a discharge of 25 ml (I2), and 4 hours using a discharge of 34 ml (I3). The second treatment is the plant variety which consists of the Grand Rapids variety (V1), the Green Coral variety (V2), and the Red Coral variety (V3). The data is analyzed using analysis of variance and if the results obtained are significantly different then a DMRT test will be carried out. The research results showed that the Green Coral lettuce variety was better than the Grand Rapids and Red Coral varieties. This is shown by the results with the highest and best values for the observation variables of number of leaves, plant fresh weight, and chlorophyll content. The nutritional interval which consists of an interval of 2, 4, and 6 hours gave results that were inversely proportional to the variety treatment, that is, they were not significantly different in all observed variables. Keywords: lettuce plants, plant varieties, nutritional interval, substrate hydroponics

Abstract

AbstrakMasyarakat Desa Slateng Kecamatan Ledokombo Kabupaten Jember lereng Gunung Raung berada di landform vulkanik mayoritas bermata pencaharian dalam bidang pertanian. Komoditas pertanian yang dikembangkan yaitu tanaman pangan, tanaman hortikultura, dan perkebunan. Kendala yang dihadapi yang mengancam dalam proses pertanian masyarakat rendahnya kadar nitrogen dalam tanah (< 1%) sehingga mengakibatkan daun tanaman menguning dan dapat menurunkan hasil produktivitas tanaman 50% dari potensi yang seharusnya. Permasalahan tersebut penting untuk diselesaikan sehingga produktifitas sesuai yang diharapkan. Tujuan kegiatan penerapan teknologi pupuk organik cair nitrobacter dari alam sebagai upaya peningkatan produktifitas tanah lahan vulkanik lereng gunung raung. Metode penyelesaian masalah melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan dan praktek langsung pemanfaatan bahan alam melalui peran aktif peserta dalam pembuatan nitrobakter. Kegiatan program pengabdian dihadiri 25 peserta oleh kelompok tani harapan pengurus kelompok tani, sekretaris desa, dan petugas penyuluh dari dinas pertanian dan hortikultura kabupaten Jember. Hasil kegiatan meningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta 50 % yang sebelumnya pemahaman terkait dengan Nitrobakter hanya 40% menjadi 80%. Kata kunci: degradasi lahan, nitrogen; kesuburan tanah; pupuk hayati cair Abstract The people of Slateng Village, Ledokombo District, Jember Regency, on the slopes of Mount Raung, located on volcanic landforms, the majority make their living in agriculture. The agricultural commodities developed are food crops, horticultural crops, and plantations. The obstacles faced that threaten the community's agricultural process are low levels of nitrogen in the soil (< 1%) which cause plant leaves to turn yellow and can reduce plant productivity results by 50% of their potential. It is important to solve these problems so that productivity is as expected. The aim of the activity is to apply nitrobacter liquid organic fertilizer technology from nature as an effort to increase soil productivity on the volcanic slopes of Mount Raung. Problem-solving methods through socialization, training, and direct practice in the use of natural materials through the active role of participants in making nitrobacteria. The service program activities were attended by 25 participants from the farmer group Hope, farmer group administrators, village secretaries, and extension officers from the Jember district agriculture and horticulture service. The results of the activity increased participants' knowledge and skills by 50%, from previously only 40% understanding regarding Nitrobacteria to 80%. Keywords: land degradation; nitrogen; soil fertility; liquid biofertilizer

Abstract

Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) and Geographical Information Systems are two spatial soil erosion analysis models because both have a spatial context. As an important factor, soil erodibility is crucial in determining soil erosion, with C-organic significantly influencing the K value. The main aim of this study is to characterize soil erodibility and soil loss based on spatial simulation of the effects of soil C-organic in a GIS environment. Research findings indicated that by simulating within a GIS environment, C-organic can affect soil erodibility and erosion. Low C-organic levels can increase soil erodibility, while high C-organic levels can decrease it. A reduction in C-organic by 10%, 20%, and 30% will increase K by 1.10%, 1.17%, and 1.21%, respectively. Conversely, adding 10%, 20%, and 30% C-organic will decrease K by 1.12%, 1.27%, and 1.46%, respectively. A 10%, 20%, and 30% increase in C-organic can reduce soil loss by 1.2%, 1.3%, and 1.5%, while a reduction in C-organic will increase soil loss by 1.1%, 1.2%, and 1.3%, respectively. A low K value indicates slight erosion, while a high K value suggests high erosion. Continuous C-organic and properly managing vegetation are necessary to maintain and improve soil quality.

Abstract

Bawang merah (Allium cepa var ascalonium L.) merupakan tanaman hortikultura yang banyak dibudidayakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Pemanfaatan lahan suboptimal sebagai lahan budidaya bawang merah bertujuan untuk meningkatkan area luasan panen dan produktivitas bawang merah yang mengalami fluktuasi hingga penurunan pada tahun 2022. Alternatif lahan suboptimal untuk budidaya bawang merah adalah pemanfaatan lahan kering dengan kondisi lengas lapang sebagai faktor pembatas utama. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan guna meningkatkan produktivitas lahan kering yaitu dengan pemanfaatan varietas unggul tahan kekeringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh cekaman lengas tanah, jenis varietas, dan hubungan antara cekaman lengas tanah dengan jenis varietas terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil bawang merah. Percobaan dilakukan dengan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dua faktor yaitu kadar lengas tanah dan jenis varietas. Kadar lengas tanah terdiri dari 100% (L1); 75% (L2); and 50% (L3), sedangkan varietas bawang merah terdiri dari varietas Sanren (V1); varietas Lokananta (V2); dan varietas Maserati (V3). Varietas Maserati menunjukkan tinggi tanaman tertinggi yaitu 39,2 cm dengan jumlah daun yaitu 5,9 helai. Kadar lengas tanah 75% kapasitas lapang pada varietas Maserati memberikan jumlah daun terbanyak yaitu 8,33 helai. Produktivitas varietas Sanren sebesar 0,189 t ha-1, varietas Lokananta sebesar 0,2 t ha-1, dan varietas Maserati sebesar 0,222 t ha-1.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to empower residents of Ardirejo Village, Situbondo Regency, in cultivating lettuce with a vertical hydroponic system as an agricultural solution in narrow land. The vertical hydroponic system was chosen because it is efficient, land-saving, and environmentally friendly. The implementation method includes socialization, technical cultivation training, plant maintenance assistance, until the harvest stage. This activity provides direct education to the community regarding seeding techniques, plant care, nutrient management, and proper harvesting methods. The results of the activity show an increase in community knowledge and skills in hydroponic cultivation practices, as well as a growing interest in developing independent hydroponic-based farming businesses. Lettuce harvesting is carried out at the age of 35 days after sowing with good results and both consumption and economic value. This activity is expected to be the first step in creating a productive environment, supporting local food security, and improving community welfare in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Encapsulation in the combination of specification components with additional elements to create a capsule as a protective material. NPK fertilizer is one of the inorganic fertilizers that is used very efficiently in increasing the availability of macro nutrients N, P, and K replacing single fertilizers which are sometimes difficult to obtain and very expensive. Kale itself is a plant that is rich in nutrients, moreover it contains many high antioxidants and other good compounds and is also classified as a superfood plant. However, the development in Indonesia is still low due to land degradation and fertilizers that have been contaminated by other materials. The use of encapsulation in fertilizers is needed because it provides many benefits such as increasing soil binding capacity to water, facilitating root growth, storing water longer, efficient use and can be used in agricultural land, plantations, and critical land reclamation. The provision of NPK encapsulation can increase the effectiveness of plants, increase the substance of soil humus, growth hormones, enzymes and organic compounds in the soil. This study used a completely randomized design with two factors, namely the frequency of fertilization (once, twice, and thrice). The second factor is the encapsulation dose with 4 levels including control, 10, 15, and 20 gram. The results showed the best results in N1P1 for plant height, N1P2 for plant fresh weight with a dose of 10 grams and a fertilization frequency of 1 time and a dose of 10 grams and a fertilization frequency of 2 times. Giving a dose of NPK encapsulation of 10 grams (N1) is proven to increase growth and yield in kale plants and can be recommended as an alternative to kale plant cultivation.
