Abstract

Used frying oil (UFO) has a great potential as feedstock for biodiesel production. This study aims to develop an artificial neural  network  (ANN)  model  to  predict  biodiesel  yield produced from base-catalyzed transesterification of UFO. The experiment  was  performed  with  100  mL  of  UFO  at  three different  molar  ratios  (oil:methanol) (namely 1:4,  1:5,  and 1:6), conducted with reaction temperatures of  30 to 55oC (raised by 5oC), and reaction time of 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, and 10 minutes. Prediction model was based on ANN model consisting  of  three  layers  with  27  combinations  of  three activation  functions  (tansig,  logsig,  purelin).  All  activation function  architectures  were  trained  using  Levenberg- Marquardt train type with 126 data set (87.5%) and learning rate  of  0.001.  Model  validation  used  18  data  set  (12.5%) measured at reaction time of 8 min. Results showed that two ANN models with activation function of logsig-purelin-logsig and purelin-logsig-tansig be the best with RRMSE of 2.41% and  2.44%  with  R2  of  0.9355  and  0.9391,  respectively. Predictions   of   biodiesel   yield   using   ANN   models   are significantly better than those of first-order kinetics.

Abstract

ABSTRACK This            The study aims to determine the effect of the bentonite adsorbent added when refining fish oil. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The design used was a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The bentonite concentration treatment factors used M1 (7%), M2 (10%) and M3 (13%). The test parameters used were proximate analysis (free fatty acid content, peroxide number and moisture content) and organoleptic test (color and aroma). The results showed that the addition of bentonite with different concentrations to the quality of tuna fish head oil had a significant effect on the value of color and aroma at the 95% confidence level with the best organoleptic quality found in the M3 treatment with a characteristic golden yellow color (8.39) and more aroma fish oil specifics (8.33). The results of chemical analysis of tuna fish head oil purification (Thunuus sp) using bentonite are peroxide number 2.32meq/kg, free fatty acids 1.38% and moisture content of 2.29%.Keywords: Fish oil, bentonite, peroxide number

Abstract

Ruqyah syar’iyyah adalah bacaan yang terdiri dari ayat-ayat Al-Qur`an dan hadits-hadits Rasulullah shallallaahu ’alaihi wa sallam yang shahih, untuk memohon kesembuhan kepada Allah dari gangguan yang ada. Tata cara ruqyah yaitu meletakkan tangan pada bagian badan yang dirasakan sakit kemudian mengucapkan bacaan ruqyah. Seiring dengan bertambahnya pengalaman dalam melakukan ruqyah, baik ruqyah diri sendiri maupun orang lain. Praktisi ruqyah dapat memanfaatkan pengalaman dalam melakukan ruqyah untuk membantu menentukan titik indikasi gangguan jin pada tubuh pasien. Gejala yang dirasakan dibagi menjadi dua jenis, yaitu gejala fisik dan gejala psikis. Pengalaman tersebut dikumpulkan menjadi basis kasus, sehingga sangat memungkinkan untuk dibuat sistem penalaran berbasis kasus atau Case Based Reasoning (CBR). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun sistem CBR yang dapat menentukan titik indikasi gangguan jin pada tubuh manusia. Proses CBR melalui 4 tahap yaitu Retrieve, Reuse, Revise dan Retain. Hal yang terpenting dalam CBR adalah menentukan nilai kemiripan atau similaritas antara kasus-kasus yang tersimpan di basis kasus dengan kasus baru yang akan dicari solusinya. Perhitungan similaritas kasus pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Braun-blanquet (B-b). Sistem pada penelitian ini dibatasi khusus kasus pada bagian kepala. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian validasi membandingkan hasil diagnosis pakar dengan hasil diagnosis sistem terhadap 65 data kasus, terdapat 53 kasus yang sesuai. Dengan demikian tingkat keberhasilan sistem adalah 81,54%.

Abstract

Poor waste management will affect various aspects such as environmental pollution due to piles of garbage that disturb the community. It needs a waste treatment process and one of them is the bioconversion process. This process uses the biological agent Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens). This research was conducted with three organic matter variations, namely tofu pulp, eggplant pulp, and pumpkin pulp as bioconversion media. The ability of BSF larvae in bioconversion organic waste can be seen from several parameters, namely temperature, media pH, larvae weight growth, WRI (Waste Reduction Index), survival rate, consumption substrate and feed residue. The results were analyzed by one-way ANOVA test then the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test with a significance level of 95%. The research results with different bioconversion media are significantly different results on the ability of BSF larvae in the decomposition process. Tofu pulp media show the best results compared to other media with suitable conditions for the decomposition process with a final temperature of 28.8 oC, pH 7, weight growth 28.35%, WRI 5.38%, and 80.71% substrate consumption.

Abstract

This research conducted to designed, implemented, and tested an automatic rain pipe fertigation system using temperature and soil moisture sensors. The system applied to three irrigation treatments, namely manual fertilization, semi-manual fertilization, and automatic fertigation. The automatic fertigation actuator setting point is at temperature of  ≥ 31 ° C and humidity of ≤ 60% to turn on the water pump and nutrient pump then the water pump will shut down when the temperature value of 25 °C and humidity of  ≥ 80%. The results showed a significant difference in the use of irrigation water based on variance test results with an error value of 5%. The use of water from automatic fertigation is 12.770 ml or 65.9% more efficient than manual irrigation with the same growth in plant height. The height of oil palm plants in the main nursery with automatic fertigation is higher on days 7 to 12. Automatic fertilization requires a fertilizer of 1.8 tons per ha, less than manual fertilization which reaches 3 tons per ha. Keywords: fertigation, microcontroller, oil palm, sensors, soil moisture

Abstract

Biodiesel merupakan alternatif pengganti bahan bakar solar yang dapat dibuat dari minyak jelantah.  Pembuatan biodiesel dapat dilakukan dengan metode transesterifikasi yaitu mereaksikan antara minyak jelantah dan metanol sehingga menghasilkan metil ester dan gliserol dengan bantuan katalis basa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh suhu dan waktu reaksi dalam pembuatan biodiesel dan menentukan nilai parameter kinetika orde satu pada sintesis biodiesel dari minyak jelantah untuk memprediksi hasil reaksi.  Penelitian ini menggunakan  rasio molar 1:6 dengan waktu reaksi sebesar 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 6 dan 10 menit dan suhu reaksi sebesar 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, dan 55 °C.  Bahan yang digunakan meliputi minyak jelantah, metanol dan NaOH dengan parameter penelitian meliputi rendemen, massa jenis dan viskositas.  Kinetika reaksi merupakan reaksi orde satu dari fungsi suhu dan konsentrasi non biodiesel untuk memperoleh konstanta laju reaksi dan energi aktivasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rendemen biodiesel tertinggi terdapat pada suhu 55 °C dan waktu reaksi 10 menit. Biodiesel yang dihasilkan memiliki massa jenis antara 0,863-0,885 gram/ml (sesuai SNI), dan viskositas 2,825-5,277 cSt (sesuai SNI). Nilai konstanta laju reaksi (k) pada suhu suhu 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 dan 55 °C sebesar 9,8×10-4 s-1, 10,8×10-4 s-1, 11,67×10-4 s-1, 14×10-4 s-1, 14,83×10-4 s-1,  dan 21,67×10-4 s-1. Abstract

Budidaya bayam merah (Alternanthera amoena voss) masih banyak dijumpai dengan memanfaatkan tanah sebagai media pertumbuhannya. Hidroponik dengan penanaman memanfaatkan media cair bisa menggantikan cara budidaya bayam merah pada media tanah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh nutrisi dan media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan bayam merah dengan sistem hidroponik. Metode RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) digunakan dengan dua faktor yaitu nutrisi dan media tanam. Kosentrasi nutrisi yang digunakan ialah 2, 4 dan 6 ml/liter sedangkan untuk media tanam menggunakan rockwool, serabut kelapa dan arang sekam. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya interaksi antara kadar nutrisi dan media tanam terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun dan berat segar. Perlakuan L2M3 (4ml/liter + arang sekam) dan L3M1 (6ml/liter + rockwool) menunjukan tinggi tanaman yang paling besar dibandingkan dengan lainnya, perlakuan L3M1 (6ml/liter + rockwool) dan L3M3 (6ml/liter + arang sekam), perlakuan L2M1 (4ml/liter + rockwool) dan L2M3 (4ml/liter + arang sekam) merupakan kombinasi yang paling tinggi terhadap parameter luas daun tanaman dan perlakuan L2M3 (4ml/liter + arang sekam) mempunyai nilai yang tinggi terhadap parameter berat segar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a method of measuring the amylose content of rice using image processing techniques and an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model. The rice samples came from six varieties, namely Way Apo Buru, Mapan P05, IR-64, Cibogo, Inpari IR Nutri Zinc, and Inpari 33. The amylose content was measured by laboratory tests and the color intensity was measured based on the RGB (Red, Green, Blue). The ANN model will correlate the RGB color intensity as input with the amylose content as the output. The ANN model used is backpropagation type with 3 input layer nodes and 2 hidden layers with 3-5-5-1 architecture. Variations in the training model used are 27 variations of the activation function. The amount of data used for model training of 30 data while for validation of 12 data. The best ANN model is determined from the high value of accuracy (100%-MAPE) and the value of coefficient of determination (R2). The results showed the best network architecture on the activation function purelin-logsig-tansig. The R2 value on the best training and validation results of 0.98 and 0.66 while the accuracy values for the best training and validation results of 98.15 and 66.82. The validation results show that the developed non-destructive method can be used to quickly and accurately measure the amylose value of rice based on RGB color value. The test results show that the non-destructive method developed cannot be used to measure the amylose content of rice quickly and accurately based on the RGB color intensity, so it needs further development. Keywords:   Amylose, Artificial neural networks, Image processing, Rice

Abstract

Kandangtepus Village is an area where the majority of the people grow Kirana bananas, and its marketing has penetrated the export market. Kandangtepus village produces the famous banana, Mas Kirana banana. However, the area does not yet have a typical food processing from the base of bananas which can increase the price of Kirana bananas in the future other than as an export commodity. Therefore, for this service, we chose a training activity for making banana pie which is expected to later become a special food in the Kandangtepus area and can be known to the wider community outside Lumajang. Banana pie has good nutritional content for the health of the human body, one of which is for digestion, besides that the nutritional content contained in banana pie / 50 grams is as follows: calories 158 kcal, fat 8.05 grams, protein 1.5 grams, carbohydrates 21.3 g, 1.3 g fiber, 10.7 g sugar, 187 mg sodium, 32 mg potassium, 0 mg cholesterol. It is hoped that by making banana pie, the community is more creative and has more skills so that it can improve the welfare of the community, especially in the village

Abstract

Seputih Village is one of the villages in Mayang District, Jember Regency. In addition to the agricultural sector, the livestock sector is also the mainstay of the village, namely cattle with almost 70% of households owning livestock. The high number of cattle in the community causes an increase in the amount of livestock manure produced. One solution that can be applied to reduce this waste is by processing manure into solid organic fertilizer so that the community service program implemented in Seputih Village is the manufacture of solid organic fertilizer from cow dung that can be utilized by the community on agricultural land. Activities carried out to achieve the objectives include coordination meetings of the lecturer team with village heads, farmers and ranchers; potential survey; training on the manufacture of solid organic fertilizers as well as monitoring and evaluation. The community service activity was enthusiastically welcomed. The community directly received information on the importance of handling cow dung waste and had experience in making organic fertilizer workshops. Solid organic fertilizer can be used after two weeks of the fermentation process.
