Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian pada masyarakat (PPM) ini adalah untuk menjaga kelestarian Kambing Kejobong melalui pelatihan pembuatan milk replacer (MR). Metode yang dilakukan dalam berupa sosialisasi, pembuatan demplot, aplikasi program, dan evaluasi. Demplot kegiatan berupa pembuatan MR komersil merek Profat dan dipercobakan pada 4 ekor cempe. Data dibahas secara deskriptif. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan nilai rata-rata peserta sebesar 3,17, kemudian mengalami peningkatan pada nilai post-test menjadi 6,6. Hasil aplikasi MR pada cempe memberi pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH) yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan yang tidak diberi MR, yaitu 0,075 kg/hari > 0,066 kg/hari. Sebanyak 33% peternak sangat mau dan 37% mau untuk menerapkan MR untuk cempe, sedangkan 30% menyatakan ragu-ragu. Kesimpulan kegiatan bahwa PPM mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan, meningkatkan performa produksi cempe dan motivasi peternak dalam menerapkan MR pada cempe, sehingga dapat mendukung pelestarian Kambing Kejobong.

Abstract

Ransum berbasis indeks sinkronisasi protein-energi (SPE) merupakan pengembangan nutrisi ruminansia yang ditujukan pada optimalisasi sintesis protein mikroba (SPM). Optimalisasi SPM diupayakan dengan sinkronisasi ketersediaan ammonia dan energi melalui indeks antara 0-1. Semakin simultanya kedua senyawa tersebut diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kecernaan, produksi volatile fatty acid (VFA), dan estimasi energi yang dihasilkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghitung estimasi produksi energi dan produk samping pada ransum berbasis indeks SPE melalui stoikiometri pembentukan VFA. Materi penelitian adalah cairan rumen kambing jawa randu yang di ambil sesaat setelah ternak dipotong. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan (Indeks ransum 0,55; 0,6; 0,65; dan 0,7) dan 4 ulangan. Estimasi energi dan produk hasil samping fermentasi dihitung berdasarkan stoikiometri pembentukan VFA. Data dianalisis dengan analisis variansi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ransum berbasis indeks SPE tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap semua variablel (estimasi energi reaktan, total produksi energi, efisiensi produksi energi, methane, energi terbuang, hidrogen, karbon dioksida, dan air). Disisi lain, penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ransum berbasis indeks SPE menghasilkan estimasi efisiensi produksi energi yang rendah, karena estimasi produksi methane yang tinggi. Hal ini disebabkan karena tingginya proporsi serat ransum, pembentukan asetat, serta H2 dan CO2.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Butanol-HCl4 (Bu-HCl4) and Protein-Precipitation (P-P) are methods that proposed to determine the content of free tannins, protein-bound tannins, and fiber-bound tannins. This study aims to determine the feasibility of tannin measurements by both methods and validation of Analytical Methods (VMA) evaluates specific parameters like accuracy, precision, specificity, and linearity through lab testing. The material used was twenty C. calothyrsus leaves which collected randomly from different trees. The samples were measured by both methods in triplicates for qantification and validation. The obtained data were analyzed by descriptive and t-test to compare both methods. The analysis of VMA shows that the P-P method yields higher accuracy compared to the Bu-HCl method in percentage recovery rates. The quantification of free tannins, protein-bound tannin, tannin fiber, and total tannin by the Bu-HCl4 method versus the P-P method showed significantly higher values (p<0.01) for the Bu-HCl4 method: free tannins (13.44±0.54 vs. 7.11±0.16), protein-bound tannin (2.80±0.44 vs. 1.52±0.20), tannin fiber (5.20±0.45 vs. 1.00±0.21), and total tannin (21.50±0.88 vs. 9.59±0.36). The methode validation result of Bu-HCl4 and P-P methods in the accuracy was different, but the linearity test showed a good response. In conclusion, the tannin quantivication by the P-P and Bu-HCl4 can be applied for C. calothyrsus analysis. The total tannin content was higher if quantified by the Bu-HCl4 method compared to P-P. The accuracy of the P-P found higher than the Bu-HCl4 method. Keywords: Butanol-HCl4, leaves C. calothyrsus, protein-precipitation methods, tannin.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh penambahan pakan aditif dalam pakan ruminansia sebagai upaya meningkatkan aktivitas protease dan mengkaji pengaruhnya terhadap total protein cairan rumen pada lama inkubasi yang berbeda. Penambahan bahan aditif diharapkan dapat menjaga kondisi lingkungan mikro rumen tetap stabil dan dapat memberikan suasana yang optimal untuk kinerja bakteri rumen. Apabila kondisi lingkungan mikro rumen sesuai dan suasana rumen menjadi anaerob maka populasi bakteri rumen akan meningkat. Peningkatan populasi bakteri rumen akan berdampak pada meningkatnya aktivitas enzim yang dihasilkan. Penelitian bersifat eksperimental menggunakan metode in vitro. Perlakuan yang diuji yaitu P0 = Pakan basal (60% konsentrat : 40% hijauan); P1 = P0 + 0,5% isobutirat; P2 = P1 + 0,5% S. cerevisiae; P3 = P2 + 1% minyak kedelai. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (one way classification), setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali sehingga terdapat 20 unit percobaan. Peubah yang diukur yaitu aktivitas protease menggunakan metode Walter dan kadar protein cairan rumen dalam pengamatan dinamika protein diukur menggunakan metode Bradford. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukan bahwa penambahan pakan aditif berpengaruh sangat nyata (p<0,01) terhadap aktivitas protease dalam cairan rumen dan hasil analisis variansi dinamika protein menunjukkan bahwa inkubasi 4 jam pada perlakuan P2 dan P3 menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (p<0,01) terhadap kadar protein. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan kombinasi isobutirat, S. Cerevisiae, dan minyak kedelai pada substrat pakan merupakan perlakuan yang paling efektif dalam meningkatkan aktivitas protease dan mampu meningkatkan kadar protein cairan rumen pada jam ke 4 inkubasi secara in vitro.Kata Kunci: pakan aditif, protease, in vitro, proteinProtease Activities and Dynamics of Rument Liquid Proteins on In Vitro Feed Additives ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to examine the effect of adding feed additives to ruminant feed as an effort to increase protease activity and to examine its effect on the total protein in rumen fluid at different incubation times. The addition of additives is expected to maintain a stable rumen microenvironment and can provide an optimal atmosphere for the performance of rumen bacteria. If the conditions of the rumen microenvironment are suitable and the rumen atmosphere becomes anaerobic, the population of rumen bacteria will increase. An increase in the population of rumen bacteria will have an impact on increasing the activity of the enzymes produced. This research is experimental using the in vitro method. The treatments tested were P0 = basal feed (60% concentrate: 40% forage); P1 = P0 + 0.5% isobutyrate; P2 = P1 + 0.5% S. cerevisiae; P3 = P2 + 1% soybean oil. This study used a completely randomized design (one way classification), each treatment was repeated 5 times so that there were 20 experimental units. The variables measured were protease activity using the Walter method and rumen fluid protein levels in the protein dynamics observations measured using the Bradford method. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the addition of feed additives had a very significant effect (p<0.01) on the protease activity in the rumen fluid and the results of the analysis of variance of protein dynamics showed that the 4-hour incubation in P2 and P3 treatments showed a very significant effect (p <0, 01) on protein content. The conclusion of this study is the addition of a combination of isobutyrate, S. cerevisiae, and soybean oil to the feed substrate is the most effective treatment in increasing protease activity and is able to increase rumen protein levels at the 4th hour of incubation in vitro.Keywords: feed additives, protease, in vitro, protein

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh proteksi bungkil kedelai menggunakan ekstrak daun mahoni terhadap produk VFA total, konsentrasi N-NH3, kecernaan bahan kering, dan kecernaan bahan organik secara in vitro. Bahan yang digunakan adalah bungkil kedelai, daun mahoni, cairan rumen sapi potong, serta reagen untuk analisis konsentrasi amonia dan VFA. Penelitian dilakukan dalam tiga tahap yaitu ekstraksi mahoni, proteksi protein dengan ekstrak mahoni, dan tahap in vitro. Penelitian bersifat eksperimental dengan tiga tahap, yaitu ekstraksi mahoni menggunakan metode soxhlet, pencampuran ekstrak mahoni dengan bungkil kedelai, dan uji kecernaan menggunakan metode in vitro. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan sehingga terdapat 24 unit percobaan. Perlakuan terdiri dari P0 (bungkil kedelai + ekstrak mahoni 0%), P1 (bungkil kedelai + ekstrak mahoni 1,5%), P2 (bungkil kedelai + ekstrak mahoni 3%) dan P3 (bungkil kedelai + ekstrak mahoni 4,5%). Pengukuran VFA total menggunakan metode distilasi uap dan N-NH3 dengan teknik difusi mikro Conway. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak (INMT) Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Pengukuran hasil tersebut dianalisis secara statistik dengan analisis variansi, jika terdapat perbedaan lebih lanjut diuji menggunakan ortogonal polinomial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlindungan bungkil kedelai dengan ekstrak mahoni berpengaruh nyata terhadap produk VFA total, N-NH3, kecernaan bahan kering dan kecernaan bahan organik (P0,05). Pemberian bungkil kedelai terproteksi ekstrak daun mahoni berpengaruh secara kubik dengan persamaan berturut-turut Y= 99,67 36,44X + 18,19X2 2,12X3 (R= 0,98); Y= 14 + 0,798X 0,370X2 + 0,055X3 (R= 0,66); Y= 60,30 - 2,89X + 2,67X2 - 0,38X3 (R= 0,65); dan Y= 59,58 2,65X + 1,79X2 0,19X3 (R= 0,91). Berdasarkan VFA total, konsentrasi N-NH3, kecernaan bahan kering, dan kecernaan bahan organik disimpulkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak mahoni taraf 3% efisien.(Protection of soybean meal with mahogany leaf extract on rumen fermentation products and in vitro digestibility)ABSTRAK. The aim of this study was to determine the protective effect of soybean meal using mahogany leaf extract on VFAs product, N-NH3 concentration, dry matter digestibility, and organic matter digestibility in vitro. The materials used were mahogany leaves, beef cattle rumen fluid, and reagents for analysis of ammonia and VFA concentrations. The research was conducted in three stages, mahogany extraction, protein protection with mahogany extract, and in vitro stages. The research was experimental with in vitro method using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 6 replications so that there were 24 experimental units. The treatments consisted of P0 (soybean meal + 0% mahogany extract), P1 (soybean meal + 1.5% mahogany extract), P2 (soybean meal + 3% mahogany extract) and P3 (soybean meal + 4.5% mahogany extract). Measurement of total VFA using the steam distillation method and N-NH3 with the Conway micro diffusion technique (Smith et al., 2005). The research was carried out at the Animal Nutrition and Forage Science Laboratory (INMT), Faculty of Animal Science, Jenderal Soedirman University. Measurement The results were analyzed statistically by analysis of variance, if there were further differences tested using orthogonal polynomial. The results showed that the protection of soybean meal with mahogany extract significantly affected the total VFA product, N-NH3, dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility (P 0.05). It can be concluded that the addition of 3% level mahogany extract is efficient in increasing the total VFA product, N-NH3 concentration, dry matter digestibility, and organic matter digestibility.

Abstract

The Andhini Lestari and Andhini Rahayu Livestock Groups are groups of smallholder breeders whose maintenance is still carried out conventionally. Poor milking sanitation and hygiene management is still a problem for this group of farms. Farmers conventionally carry out milking with a very low level of hygiene. Milking hygiene needs to be considered because it will affect udder health. Udder health affects the quality and quantity of milk produced. Unhealthy milking hygiene will cause the udder to suffer from mastitis which is very detrimental to the farmer. So, to maintain good milk quality, farmers must follow milking hygiene procedures as an implementation of Good Dairy Farming Practices. A series of activities that will be carried out are training in making disinfectant solutions and dipping teas, making milking SOPs, applying Good Dairy Farming Practices. The aim of carrying out this PKM is to form cadres of breeders in the Andhini Lestari and Andhini Rahayu groups, Karangtengah Village, Cilongok District, Banyumas and breeders in the surrounding areas; Maintaining good milk quality at the smallholder level through implementing good milking hygiene; And prevents the occurrence of mastitis in dairy cows.

Abstract

Tirto Margo Mulyo Livestock Group still practices conventional dairy cattle management with inadequate sanitation and milking hygiene management. This has led to a high incidence of mastitis, which adversely affects the farm, such as decreased milk quality and production, increased treatment costs, and accelerated culling of cows. The community service program implemented includes examinations using the California Mastitis Test, training in making disinfectant solutions, and teat dipping. This program aims to develop farmer cadres, maintain milk quality and quantity, and prevent both clinical and subclinical mastitis. The pre-test results showed an average score of 6 points among the group members. While the farmers were aware of mastitis, they were unfamiliar with subclinical mastitis. A post-test was conducted after the program, and the results showed an improvement, with the average score rising to 8 points. Additionally, the mastitis testing revealed a decrease in subclinical mastitis among the dairy cows in the Margo Mulyo group. Conclusion, the community service activities (PMM) were successful in increasing the farmers' knowledge, reducing the incidence of mastitis, and enhancing the motivation of the farmers to implement proper milking management practices.

Abstract

Taufk Nur Hidayat. The research is entitled "The Effect of Ozonization Time on Total Solids and Viscosity of Etawa Crossbreed Goat Milk (PE)". This research aims to determine the effect of time ozonization of Etawa crossbreed goat milk on total solids and viscosity. This research was carried out experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which contained 5 treatments and 4 replications so that there were 20 experimental units. The materials used in this research were using Etawa crossbreed goat milk and equipment in the form of an ozone generator, with an ozone concentration used of 1000 mg/hour, an ice box as a place to store milk samples, a 1000 ml glass jar, 50 ml bakerglass, 300 ml jar bottle. ml, glass stirrer, label, tissue, lactoscan, and viscometer. The treatments used were ozonation periods of 0, 20, 40 and 60 seconds. The important variables observed in this research are total solids and viscosity. The results of the data obtained from the research that has been carried out are then analyzed using ANOVA. The results of the research on total solids and milk viscosity did not have a significant effect. The conclusion obtained from the research is that the length of ozonation has no effect on the total solids and viscosity of Etawa Peranakan goat milk (PE).​

Abstract

Kambing Sapera mampu memproduksi susu cukup tinggi dan mengandung kadar lemak yang lebih tinggi daripada susu sapi. Kadar lemak susu berkorelasi negatif dengan berat jenis, tetapi berkorelasi positif dengan total padatan, sehingga digunakan parameter berat jenis, bahan kering tanpa lemak, dan total padatan untuk menentukan kualitas dan harga susu. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kadar berat jenis, bahan kering tanpa lemak, dan total padatan pada susu Kambing Sapera serta hubungan antar peubah tersebut. Materi penelitian yang digunakan berjumlah 30 sampel susu yang terdiri 15 dari masing-masing Siliwangi Farm dan Gaza Farm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berat jenis memiliki rata-rata, maksimal, dan minimal berturut-turut 1,028g/ml; 1,030g/ml; 1,024g/ml. Bahan kering tanpa lemak memiliki rata-rata, maksimal, dan minimal berturut-turut 7,992%; 8,635%; 7,17%. Total padatan memiliki rata-rata, maksimal, dan minimal berturut-turut 12,572%; 14,640%; 11,165%. Hasil Uji-T menunjukkan bahwa kadar berat jenis, bahan kering tanpa lemak, dan total padatan antara kedua farm tersebut berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05). Terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat kuat dan pengaruh yang lebih besar antara berat jenis dan bahan kering tanpa lemak dimana nilai R2 = 0,8005 dan R = 0,895 dengan persamaan y = 0,0032x + 1,0023. Indikator kualitas susu dapat ditentukan berdasarkan berat jenis, bahan kering tanpa lemak, dan total padatan pada susu. Terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat kuat dan pengaruh yang lebih besar antara berat jenis dan bahan kering tanpa lemak dimana nilai R2=0,8005 dan r=0,895 dengan persamaan Y = 0,0032X + 1,0023. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa berat jenis memiliki perbandingan pengaruh yang lebih besar terhadap bahan kering tanpa lemak daripada total padatan.
