Abstract

ABSTRAK. Mastitis subklinis merupakan masalah kesehatan yang umum terjadi pada sapi perah, yang dapat berdampak negatif pada produktivitas susu dan kesehatan hewan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan manajemen pemerahan dengan kejadian mastitis subklinis dan kerusakan susu segar pada sapi perah di Kecamatan Baturraden dan Kecamatan Sumbang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Sasaran penelitian adalah peternak sapi perah dan sapi perah laktasi di Kecamatan Baturraden dan Kecamatan Sumbang, Kabupaten Banyumas, Jawa Tengah. Penentuan lokasi menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Sampel diambil secara sensus, yaitu 39 peternak yang ternaknya sedang dalam periode laktasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis korelasi rank spearmen, chi square, dan uji t independent. Hasil analisis Rank Spearmen menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara manajemen pemerahan dengan kejadian mastitis subklinis di Kecamatan Baturraden dan Kecamatan Sumbang dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,02 dan 0,03. Hasil uji chi square menunjukkan bahwa H0 diterima yang artinya terdapat hubungan antara manajemen pemerahan dengan kerusakan susu segar di Kecamatan Baturraden dan Kecamatan Sumbang dengan nilai signifikansi 0,03 dan 0,001. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa semakin baik manajemen pemerahan yang dilakukan maka semakin menurun angka kejadian mastitis subklinis dan kerusakan susu di Kecamatan Baturraden dan Kecamatan Sumbang.Kata kunci: Manajemen pemerahan, penyakit mastitis subklinis, dan kerusakan susu segarThe Relationship Between Milking Management and the Incidence of Subclinical Mastitis and Fresh Milk Damage in Baturraden and Sumbang SubdistrictsABSTRACT. Subclinical mastitis is a common health problem in dairy cattle, negatively impacting milk productivity and animal health. This study aims to determine the relationship between milking management and the incidence of subclinical mastitis and fresh milk spoilage in dairy cattle in Baturraden and Sumbang Districts. This study used a survey method. The research targets were dairy farmers and lactating dairy cattle in Baturraden and Sumbang Districts, Banyumas Regency, Central Java. The location was determined using a purposive sampling method. Samples were taken through a census, namely, 39 farmers whose cattle were in the lactation period. Data analysis used Spearman rank correlation analysis, chi-square, and independent t-test. The results of the Spearman rank analysis showed a significant relationship between milking management and the incidence of subclinical mastitis in Baturraden and Sumbang Districts, with significance values of 0.02 and 0.03. The chi-square test results showed that H0 was accepted, meaning there was a relationship between milking management and fresh milk damage in Baturraden and Sumbang Districts, with a significance value of 0.03 and 0.001. This study concluded that the better the milking management, the lower the incidence of subclinical mastitis and milk damage in Baturraden and Sumbang Districts.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of post-milking teat dipping using a 1% iodine solution on subclinical mastitis incidence, milk spoilage, and total microbial count in lactating dairy cows. The research was conducted in Limpakuwus and Susukan Villages, Sumbang Sub-district, Banyumas Regency, selected through purposive sampling. The study involved dairy farmers from the PESAT Cooperative who agreed to implement teat dipping procedures. Fresh milk samples were collected from 21 lactating dairy cows. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests and presented descriptively in tables. The results showed a significant decrease in subclinical mastitis, milk spoilage, and total bacterial count following the teat dipping treatment. Statistical analysis indicated a highly significant effect (P<0.01) between teat dipping and the reduction in subclinical mastitis based on California Mastitis Test (CMT) results, with a 56.25% decrease in incidence. Significant effects (P<0.05) were also observed between teat dipping and milk spoilage, as well as total bacterial count. The number of alcohol test-positive samples declined by 62.5% (from 8 to 3 cows), while negative samples increased by 38.5% (from 13 to 18 cows). The average total bacterial count in fresh milk decreased by 49.59%. These findings suggest that teat dipping with a 1% iodine solution is an effective hygiene practice that should be integrated into the milking management routine of dairy farmers in Sumbang Sub-district to reduce subclinical mastitis, milk spoilage, and microbial contamination.

Abstract

metabolized by the human body. There are various dairy livestock spread around Indonesia specifically dairy cattle, dairy goats, buffalo, and sheep. This research aimed to forecast the milk production of various dairy livestock in Indonesia until 2028. The research method of this study was the secondary data method utilizing secondary data from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nation. Data used in this study was milk production of Indonesia from various dairy livestock in tonnes from 2012-2021. The Autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) method was used to forecast milk production in Indonesia. The (p,d,q) value for the milk production forecast of dairy cattle, dairy goat, buffalo, and sheep were (1,1,1), (2,1,1), (0,0,1), and (1,1,1) respectively. Milk production for cows, goats and sheep is predicted to continue to increase until 2028, while buffalo milk production is predicted to decrease. Milk production from various dairy livestock besides dairy cattle has great potential to develop so as to create diversity in fulfilling the needs of dairy products in Indonesia.

Abstract

Latar Balakang. Kambing Etawa telah dikawinsilangkan dengan beberapa jenis kambing lokal dan menghasilkan rumpun perah lokal. Kambing keturunan Etawa ini perlu dikaji dan dibandingkan satu sama lain untuk mengetahui potensinya. Hal ini akan menjadi informasi yang penting bagi banyak peneliti dan pemerintah dalam menentukan rumpun keturunan Etawa yang paling potensial untuk dikembangakan. Materi dan Metode. Artikel disusun dengan metode review sederhana. Tahapan penyusunan artikel meliputi eligibilitas dokumen, penelusuran dokumen, seleksi dan ektraksi data, kemudian sintesis artikel. Hasil. Rumpun baru hasil persilangan Etawa di Indonesia meliputi Kambing Peranakan Etawa (PE), Senduro, Jawa Randu (Bligon) dan Sapera. Karakteristik PE dan Seduro lebih dekat dengan Etawa, Jawa Randu lebih dekat dengan kambing lokal, dan Sapera lebih dekat dengan Saanen. Kambing PE memiliki rerata ukuran linier yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan yang lain. Kambing Sapera dan Seduro memiliki profil reproduksi yang lebih baik dibandingkan yang lain. Kambing Sapera memiliki karakteristik produksi susu terbaik diantara yang lain. Simpulan. Kambing lokal hasil persilangan dari Etawa memiliki potensi produksi yang lebih rendah dibandingkan Kambing Etawa itu sendiri. Berdasarkan kajian menyeluruh dari performa kambing keturunan Etawa yang paling potensial untuk terus dikembangkan sebagai ras perah lokal adalah Kambing Sapera.

Abstract

Taufk Nur Hidayat. The research is entitled "The Effect of Ozonization Time on Total Solids and Viscosity of Etawa Crossbreed Goat Milk (PE)". This research aims to determine the effect of time ozonization of Etawa crossbreed goat milk on total solids and viscosity. This research was carried out experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which contained 5 treatments and 4 replications so that there were 20 experimental units. The materials used in this research were using Etawa crossbreed goat milk and equipment in the form of an ozone generator, with an ozone concentration used of 1000 mg/hour, an ice box as a place to store milk samples, a 1000 ml glass jar, 50 ml bakerglass, 300 ml jar bottle. ml, glass stirrer, label, tissue, lactoscan, and viscometer. The treatments used were ozonation periods of 0, 20, 40 and 60 seconds. The important variables observed in this research are total solids and viscosity. The results of the data obtained from the research that has been carried out are then analyzed using ANOVA. The results of the research on total solids and milk viscosity did not have a significant effect. The conclusion obtained from the research is that the length of ozonation has no effect on the total solids and viscosity of Etawa Peranakan goat milk (PE).?

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian pada masyarakat (PPM) ini adalah untuk menjaga kelestarian Kambing Kejobong melalui pelatihan pembuatan milk replacer (MR). Metode yang dilakukan dalam berupa sosialisasi, pembuatan demplot, aplikasi program, dan evaluasi. Demplot kegiatan berupa pembuatan MR komersil merek Profat dan dipercobakan pada 4 ekor cempe. Data dibahas secara deskriptif. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan nilai rata-rata peserta sebesar 3,17, kemudian mengalami peningkatan pada nilai post-test menjadi 6,6. Hasil aplikasi MR pada cempe memberi pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH) yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan yang tidak diberi MR, yaitu 0,075 kg/hari > 0,066 kg/hari. Sebanyak 33% peternak sangat mau dan 37% mau untuk menerapkan MR untuk cempe, sedangkan 30% menyatakan ragu-ragu. Kesimpulan kegiatan bahwa PPM mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan, meningkatkan performa produksi cempe dan motivasi peternak dalam menerapkan MR pada cempe, sehingga dapat mendukung pelestarian Kambing Kejobong.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh proteksi bungkil kedelai menggunakan ekstrak daun mahoni terhadap produk VFA total, konsentrasi N-NH3, kecernaan bahan kering, dan kecernaan bahan organik secara in vitro. Bahan yang digunakan adalah bungkil kedelai, daun mahoni, cairan rumen sapi potong, serta reagen untuk analisis konsentrasi amonia dan VFA. Penelitian dilakukan dalam tiga tahap yaitu ekstraksi mahoni, proteksi protein dengan ekstrak mahoni, dan tahap in vitro. Penelitian bersifat eksperimental dengan tiga tahap, yaitu ekstraksi mahoni menggunakan metode soxhlet, pencampuran ekstrak mahoni dengan bungkil kedelai, dan uji kecernaan menggunakan metode in vitro. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan sehingga terdapat 24 unit percobaan. Perlakuan terdiri dari P0 (bungkil kedelai + ekstrak mahoni 0%), P1 (bungkil kedelai + ekstrak mahoni 1,5%), P2 (bungkil kedelai + ekstrak mahoni 3%) dan P3 (bungkil kedelai + ekstrak mahoni 4,5%). Pengukuran VFA total menggunakan metode distilasi uap dan N-NH3 dengan teknik difusi mikro Conway. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak (INMT) Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Pengukuran hasil tersebut dianalisis secara statistik dengan analisis variansi, jika terdapat perbedaan lebih lanjut diuji menggunakan ortogonal polinomial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlindungan bungkil kedelai dengan ekstrak mahoni berpengaruh nyata terhadap produk VFA total, N-NH3, kecernaan bahan kering dan kecernaan bahan organik (P0,05). Pemberian bungkil kedelai terproteksi ekstrak daun mahoni berpengaruh secara kubik dengan persamaan berturut-turut Y= 99,67 36,44X + 18,19X2 2,12X3 (R= 0,98); Y= 14 + 0,798X 0,370X2 + 0,055X3 (R= 0,66); Y= 60,30 - 2,89X + 2,67X2 - 0,38X3 (R= 0,65); dan Y= 59,58 2,65X + 1,79X2 0,19X3 (R= 0,91). Berdasarkan VFA total, konsentrasi N-NH3, kecernaan bahan kering, dan kecernaan bahan organik disimpulkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak mahoni taraf 3% efisien.(Protection of soybean meal with mahogany leaf extract on rumen fermentation products and in vitro digestibility)ABSTRAK. The aim of this study was to determine the protective effect of soybean meal using mahogany leaf extract on VFAs product, N-NH3 concentration, dry matter digestibility, and organic matter digestibility in vitro. The materials used were mahogany leaves, beef cattle rumen fluid, and reagents for analysis of ammonia and VFA concentrations. The research was conducted in three stages, mahogany extraction, protein protection with mahogany extract, and in vitro stages. The research was experimental with in vitro method using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 6 replications so that there were 24 experimental units. The treatments consisted of P0 (soybean meal + 0% mahogany extract), P1 (soybean meal + 1.5% mahogany extract), P2 (soybean meal + 3% mahogany extract) and P3 (soybean meal + 4.5% mahogany extract). Measurement of total VFA using the steam distillation method and N-NH3 with the Conway micro diffusion technique (Smith et al., 2005). The research was carried out at the Animal Nutrition and Forage Science Laboratory (INMT), Faculty of Animal Science, Jenderal Soedirman University. Measurement The results were analyzed statistically by analysis of variance, if there were further differences tested using orthogonal polynomial. The results showed that the protection of soybean meal with mahogany extract significantly affected the total VFA product, N-NH3, dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility (P 0.05). It can be concluded that the addition of 3% level mahogany extract is efficient in increasing the total VFA product, N-NH3 concentration, dry matter digestibility, and organic matter digestibility.
