Abstract

Lavender oil and lime oil contain linalool which has a relaxing effect. This oil has potential as a fragrance in antiaging body lotion products containing Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in the Nanostructured Lipid Carriers System (NLC). This study aimed to analyzed the physical characteristics and consumer preference level for anti aging body lotion containing NLC-CoQ10. NLC-CoQ10 was prepared using the High Shear Homogenization method. For F1 (Formula 1), NLC-CoQ10 is mixed with a gel base and lavender oil. For F2 (Formula 2), the type of essential oil added is lime oil. These two forms when compared with F0 (Formula 0 = formula without essential oils). The physical properties observed included organoleptic, pH, homogeneity, spreadability, and viscosity. Organoleptic test and homogeneity were analyzed descriptively. While the pH, spreadability, and viscosity were analyzed using One Way Anova. In the preference level test, the aspect that is assessed is aroma. This test was analyzed statistically using the Univariate method. Based on the physical characteristic test, it is known that the three formulas have the same color, consistency, and homogeneity. The difference between the three formulas lies in their aroma. F0 is unscented; F1 has a lavender scent; F2 has a lime scent. The viscosity of the three formulas is also different but does not affect the spreadability value. Based on the aroma preference level test, it is known that F2 has the highest value. The type of essential oil affects the aroma and level of preference of the panelists. The most preferred formula is a formula containing lime oil. Abstract

This literature review explores various conventional extraction methods utilized to extract phenolic compounds from natural materials. Phenolic compounds, known for their significant antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties, are crucial bioactive molecules found in plants. The study examines methods such as maceration, percolation, reflux, Soxhlet, digestion, infusion, and decoction, highlighting their efficiencies, advantages, and limitations. The findings suggest that while conventional methods are cost-effective and accessible, they often require longer extraction times and may lead to thermal degradation of sensitive compounds

Abstract

Abstrak: Tingginya prevalensi penyakit degenerative pada lansia berdampak pada meningkatnya angka kesakitan dan kematian, penurunan kualitas hidup, serta penurunan kemampuan lansia untuk melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari. Permasalahan mitra lainnya yang muncul adalah pada aspek pemahaman penggunaan obat. Rendahnya pemahaman terkait penggunaan obat, pengelolaan obat rumah tangga sehingga masih banyak dijumpai di masyarakat yang masing bingung dan belum memahami bagaimana cara menggunakan obat yang tepat yang aman dari efek samping dan interaksi obat potensial. Salah satu upaya pengendalian kepatuhan pengobatan pada lansia adalah dengan memanfaatkan perkembangan teknologi yang dapat diterapkan dalam mendukung pelayanan kefarmasian melalui website. Pemanfaatan website layanan kefarmasian memungkinkan layanan secara lebih efisien dan efektif meningkatkan kepatuhan pengobatan pasien dan kualitas hidup pasien. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan kulaitas hidup dan kepatuhan minum obat lansia melalui edukasi dengan disertai media website layanan kefarmasian. Peserta kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah sejumlah 38 peserta lansia. Kegiatan ini diawali dari edukasi pentingnya menjaga kepatuhan minum obat, dilanjutkan sosialisasi penggunaan website layanan kefarmasian. Evaluasi dilaksanakan melalui pengisian kuesioner kualitas hidup dan kuesioner kepatuhan minum obat.asil evaluasi menunjukkan sejumlah 35 pasien lansia (92,1%) kualitas hidupnya baik, 3 pasien kualitas hidup sedang (7,9%) dan 22 pasien (57,9%) patuh minum obat, 14 cukup patuh (36,8%), dan 2 pasien tidak patuh (5,3%). Dengan mengikuti kegiatan ini diharapkan peserta dapat mengaplikasikan ilmu yang didapat kepada masyarakat.Abstract: The high prevalence of degenerative diseases in the elderly has an impact on increasing morbidity and mortality rates, decreasing quality of life, and decreasing the ability of the elderly to carry out daily activities. Other partner problems that arise are in the aspect of understanding drug use. Low understanding related to drug use, household drug management so that many people are still confused and do not understand how to use the right medicine that is safe from side effects and potential drug interactions. One effort to control medication compliance in the elderly is to utilize technological developments that can be applied to support pharmaceutical services through websites. Utilization of pharmaceutical service websites allows for more efficient and effective services to improve patient medication compliance and patient quality of life. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the quality of life and medication compliance of the elderly through education accompanied by pharmaceutical service website media. Participants in this Community Service activity were 38 elderly participants. This activity began with education on the importance of maintaining medication compliance, followed by socialization of the use of pharmaceutical service websites. Evaluation was carried out by filling out a quality of life questionnaire and a medication compliance questionnaire. The evaluation results of 35 elderly patients (92.1%) had good quality of life, 3 patients had moderate quality of life (7.9%) and 22 patients (57.9%) were compliant in taking medication, 14 were quite compliant (36.8%), and 2 patients were non-compliant (5.3%). By participating in this activity, it is hoped that participants can apply the knowledge they have gained to the community.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Red pomegranate peel extract (RPPE) contains ellagitannin. This compound has an antioxidant effect. Therefore,this extract has good potential as an active ingredient in anti-aging cosmetics. However, applying the extract directly to the skin is inconvenient. So in this study RPPE was formulated into a sleeping mask. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in the concentration of RPPE in sleeping masks on physical characteristics and the level of preference/hedonic. RPPE concentration observed was 2.5% (F1) ; 5% (F2) ; 7.5% (F3). Characteristic tests include organoleptic, pH value, visual homogeneity, consistency and viscosity. Parameters analyzed in the hedonic test include texture, color, and aroma. The organoleptic and homogeneity were analyzed descriptively. The test data for pH and viscosity were analyzed statistically using the One Way ANOVA method. The results of the hedonic test were analyzed statistically using the univariate method. Based on the results of the organoleptic test, it is known that F1 have a light brown color, F2 is brown, and F3 is dark brown. The third formula is visually homogeneous. The higher the concentration of RPPE, the lower the pH value and viscosity of the preparation. Increasing the concentration of RPPE reduce consistency. This study concluded that the concentration of RPPE affects the physical properties of the aspects of color, consistency, pH, and viscosity. The concentration of RPPE also affects the level of preference of the panelists. Most of the panelists prefer the color and texture of the sleeping mask that contains low concentration of RPPE (2.5%). Abstract

Probiotik merupakan mikroorganisme yang memiliki sifat antioksidan yang dapatberperan sebagai anti aging dan memperbaiki skin barrier. Penelitian tentangpenggunaan probitok masih minim dilakukan, sehingga pada penelitian ini probiotikdiformulasikan kedalam sediaan serum NLC Koenzim Q10 sebagai second activeingredient. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi kosentrasiprobiotik terhadap serum yang mengandung NLC Koenzim Q10 terhadap karakteristikdan stabilitas fisik. Variasi konsentrasi probiotik yang diamati yaitu 0% (F0), 2% (F1)dan 6% (F2). NLC Koenzim Q10 dibuat dengan High Shear Homogenization,selanjutnya dicampur dengan basis serum dan probiotik. Setelah itu, dilakukankarakteristik dan stabilitas fisik secara real-time selama 12 minggu dengan parameterorganoleptis, homogenitas, pH dan viskositas. Hasil pengujian karakteristik fisikmenunjukkan bahwa ketiga formula memiliki warna, bentuk dan homogenitas yangsama. F0 memiliki aroma khas lemak seperti NLC, sedangkan F1 dan F2 memilikiaroma asam khas probiotik. Nilai pH dan viskositas F0 lebih tinggi dibandingkan F1 danF2, namun masih memenuhi spesifikasi yang ditetapkan. Pengujian stabilitas fisikmenunjukkan bahwa ketiga formula tetap stabil pada aspek warna, bentuk, danhomogenitas. Namun, aroma pada F1 dan F2 semakin intens, pH mengalamipenurunan dan viskositas mengalami peningkatan. Dengan demikian, dapatdisimpulkan bahwa probiotik mempengaruhi aroma pH dan viskositas, tetapi tidakmempengaruhi warna, bentuk, dan homogenitas sediaan.

Abstract

One of the export commodities from the Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) group is tengkawang fruit. This fruit can be processed into fat which has properties similar to cocoa butter. The advantage of this fat compared to cocoa butter is that the price is relatively cheaper. However, the use of tengkawang fat in cosmetics is not widely known. Therefore, researchers are interested in developing cosmetic products based on tengkawang fat to treat xerosis of the feet. To increase occlusivity, tengkawang fat is formulated into an NLC (Nanostructured Lipid Carriers) system. In this research, a foot sleeping mask product was made containing NLC tengkawang fat with the addition of gel (to improve viscosity) and sweet orange oil (to improve aroma). The aim of this research was to determine the irritation skin level and effectiveness of moisturizing the skin of the soles of the feet from a foot sleeping mask containing NLC tengkawang fat. The results of the physical characteristics test show that the foot sleeping mask made meets the desired specifications. The results of skin irritation tests with 35 panelists showed that there was no redness or edema on the panelists' skin during 24, 48 and 72 hours of observation. The results of the moisture effectiveness test showed that the average moisture content of the soles of the panelists' feet on day 0 was 34.531%, while on day 28 (4 weeks) it was 42.815%. There was an increase in humidity of 8.284% during 4 weeks of use. The conclusion of this research is that a foot sleeping mask containing Tengkawang fat NLC can increase the moisture of the skin of the soles of the feet by 8.284% during 4 weeks of use.

Abstract

Paparan sinar UV yang berlebihan mampu memperparah kondisi kulit wajah, sehingga perlu adanya pengembangan sediaan kosmetik yang mengandung antioksidan dan SPF. Probiotik diketahui mampu menyembuhkan eksim atopik, dermatitis atopik, menyembuhkan luka bakar, menghilangkan bekas luka, mengobati jerawat, dan mencegah penuaan dini, serta regenerasi kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui nilai antioksidan dan nilai SPF serum probiotik. Pada Penelitian akan dibuat 2 formula yaitu F1 (0%) dan F2 (1%), yang selanjutnya dilakukan pengukuran nilai antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH dan nilai SPF menggunakan metode mansur. Pada pengukuran nilai SPF yaitu F1 dengan nilai SPF 5,632 dan F2 dengan nilai SPF 5,735, kedua formula masuk dalam kategori efektivitas SPF sedang. Sedangkan pada pengukuran nilai antikoksidan yaitu F2 dengan nilai IC50 10.20 ppm dan K+(Serum probiotik dan Vitamin C) dengan nilai IC50 9.47 ppm, kedua formula masuk dalam katgoeri aktivitas antioksidan sangat kuat. Dengan demikian, penambahan probiotik 1% memliki aktivitas antioksidan dan nilai SPF yang baik.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pengelolaan obat yang aman dan rasional masih rendah, berpotensi meningkatkan risiko Drug-Related Problems (DRPs). Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman kader Nasyiatul Aisyiyah tentang konsep DAGUSIBU (Dapatkan, Gunakan, Simpan, Buang) agar mereka dapat menjadi agen perubahan dalam edukasi kesehatan komunitas. Penyuluhan berbasis komunitas dilakukan terhadap 49 kader di Desa Blawi, Lamongan, dengan evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam tingkat pengetahuan kader setelah intervensi,sebanyak 68% kader mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan setelah mengikuti penyuluahan berbasis komunitas ini. Mayoritas peserta juga menyatakan kepuasan terhadap metode edukasi yang diterapkan. Edukasi berbasis komunitas melalui kader terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi kesehatan terkait pengelolaan obat yang tepat.Abstract: Public awareness of safe and rational drug management remains low, increasing the risk of Drug-Related Problems (DRPs). This program aimed to enhance the knowledge of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah cadres on DAGUSIBU (Obtain, Use, Store, Dispose) so they can act as community health educators. A community-based counseling session was conducted for 49 cadres in Blawi Village, Lamongan, with pre-test and post-test evaluations. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge, with 68% of the cadres showing increased understanding following the intervention. Most participants also expressed satisfaction with the educational method applied. Community-based education through cadres has proven effective in improving health literacy related to proper drug management.

Abstract

Anak usia sekolah (6-12 tahun) membutuhkan asupan gizi yang cukup karena pada usia ini sedang dalam masa pertumbuhan. Anak-anak menghabiskan sebagian besar waktunya di sekolah. Pada umumnya, di sekolah atau di sekitar sekolah banyak sekali penjual makanan yang menarik perhatian anak-anak, seperti es krim, telur gulung, dan lain-lain. Namun, tidak semua makanan yang dijual di sekolah atau di sekitar sekolah adalah jajanan atau makanan yang sehat. Pada beberapa survei yang pernah dilakukan, masih ada jajanan sekolah yang mengandung BTP (Bahan Tambahan Pangan) berbahaya seperti boraks, formalin dan rodamin. Hal inilah yang mendasari tim KKN (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) dari Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan mengadakan penyuluhan mengenai jajanan sehat di SDN Banjarmadu, Kecamatan Karanggeneng, Kabupaten Lamongan, Provinsi Jawa Timur. Penyuluhan ini diharapkan dapat membuat siswa-siswa SDN Banjarmadu dapat memiliki kebiasaan yang baik dalam membeli jajanan di sekolah. Penyuluhan ini terdiri dari 3 tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Pada tahap persiapan, dilakukan analisa permasalahan, pencarian solusi dan melakukan izin kegiatan. Tahap selanjutnya yaitu pelaksanaan penyuluhan mengenai jajan sehat menggunakan metode ceramah. Tahap terakhir yaitu tahap evaluasi yang dilakukan menggunakan metode kuis edukatif. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, disimpulkan bahwa Siswa-siswi SDN Banjarmadu sangat antusias dengan acara penyuluhan jajan sehat yang telah dilakukan oleh tim KKN Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan. Para siswa-siswi juga cukup memahami materi yang telah disampaikan oleh tim KKN. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan banyaknya siswa-siswi yang sangat aktif menjawab pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh tim KKN saat sesi kuis edukatif.

Abstract

Lavender Oil (LO) has a calming scent and antioxidant activity. Therefore, this oil has potential as a fragrance and second active ingredient in Night Body Lotion (NBL) that contained Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) loaded Nanostructured Lipid Carrier (NLC) systems.  This study aims to observe the effect of LO’s concentration on the physical characteristics, consumer preference level, and skin irritation of NBL that contained NLC-CoQ10. There are three formulas observed in this study, namely F0 (0% LO), F1 (2% LO), and F2 (4% LO). The physical characteristics assessed included organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, and viscosity.  In vivo skin irritation tests observe erythema and edema on the skin of a white rat. In a consumer preference test, the panelists assess the organoleptic properties of F0, F1, and F3 using a 7-point hedonic scale. Based on the physical characteristic test, it is known that the three formulas have the same color, consistency, homogeneity, and spreadability value. The difference between the three formulas lies in their aroma. F0 is unscented; F1 and F2 have a lavender scent. All formulas have a pH in the range of 5.89-6.06. Statistically, increasing the concentration of LO decreases the pH of NBL. The three formulas have a viscosity in the range of 2.140–2.890 cP. Statistically, the viscosity of NBL increased with the increase in LO concentration. Based on the skin irritation test, it is known that all formulas are non-irritating. Based on preference level analysis, the most preferred formulas based on their scent are F1 and F2.
