Abstract

Based on anemia data obtained from the results of medical records at the Lepo-lepo Health Center in Kendari, 128 (11.07%) pregnant women experienced anemia from 1,156 patients who checked their pregnancy in 2013, there were 112 (6.68%) pregnant women who experienced anemia from 1,675 patients checked their pregnancy, and in 2014 was 97 (5.48%) pregnant women had anemia from 1,768 patients who checked their pregnancy. This study aimed to analyze the sociocultural relations and family support with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. The research method used was analytic observational with a Cross-Sectional Study approach. The total sample was 33 pregnant women with a purposive sampling technique. The study found that most pregnant women still experienced anemia due to a lack of family support. The amount of family support a mother receives affects the anemia of pregnant women. This effect can interfere with the psychological health of pregnant women, such as experiencing stress. For the mother to feel calm and at ease during pregnancy, it is hoped that the pregnant woman's family can provide full support so that there is a sociocultural relationship and family support with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women with each value ρ <α (0.05). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between sociocultural and family support with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. As a recommendation in research to improve sociocultural relationships and family support with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension remains one of the most prevalent public health issues globally, demanding not only curative but also preventive and promotive strategies. Community-based health promotion programs have emerged as a vital approach to increasing awareness, literacy, and behavioral change to prevent hypertension. Methods: This study employed a qualitative method through a systematic literature review of national and international publications from 2020 to 2025. The selected sources were analyzed thematically to identify social dynamics, intervention models, and determinants of program success. Data analysis involved reduction, display, and interpretation to construct a conceptual model explaining how community-based promotion enhances prevention literacy. Results: The findings indicate that the effectiveness of community-based programs depends on active participation, leadership, resource availability, and integration with primary health services. Empowerment-based education improved knowledge, modified risky behavior, and strengthened cooperation between communities and health workers. The use of digital technologies, such as mobile health applications and social media, expands educational outreach and engagement. Conclusion: Community-based health promotion is a transformative strategy for building awareness, empowerment, and self-reliance in hypertension prevention. Cross-sector collaboration and technology-driven innovation are essential to achieving sustainable outcomes. It is recommended that policymakers and health practitioners strengthen digital literacy, allocate continuous funding, and institutionalize participatory community programs to ensure long-term impact.

Abstract

Stunting remains a significant public health concern in Indonesia, particularly in Biak Regency, where socio-cultural factors and infant feeding practices influence child growth. This study examined the association between exclusive breastfeeding and socio-cultural support with stunting among children aged 25–59 months in Biak Regency. A cross-sectional analytic design was applied to 35 toddlers from the Ridge Public Health Center and Integrated Services Post. Data were collected via anthropometric measurements and structured questionnaires and analyzed using Fisher’s Exact Test and binary logistic regression. Stunting prevalence was 65.7%, and only 42.9% of children had received exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life. In bivariate analysis, none of the exclusively breastfed children and none of those with adequate socio-cultural support were stunted (both p < 0.001). In multivariable analysis, lack of exclusive breastfeeding (No vs Yes) was associated with higher odds of stunting (AOR = 18.0; 95% CI: 2.90–111.60; p < 0.001), and inadequate socio-cultural support (Inadequate vs Adequate) similarly increased the odds (AOR = 18.0; 95% CI: 2.90–111.60; p < 0.001). These results indicate that exclusive breastfeeding and supportive socio-cultural environments are strongly protective against stunting. Given the small sample and wide confidence intervals, findings should be interpreted with caution but highlight the need for culturally sensitive strategies that promote exclusive breastfeeding and address socio-cultural barriers during the first 1,000 days of life.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: promosi kesehatan, hipertensi, asam urat, berbasis masyarakat, car free day, deteksi dini
