Abstract

Technological advances make it easier for teenagers to access potentially damaging content, such as pornography, which has a negative impact on their mental and social health. For this reason, media or tools for early detection of pornographic behavior among teenagers are very important, especially for guidance and counseling teachers in providing appropriate services for students. This study aims to test the validity of the e-booklet-based Early Detection of Pornography (EDP) instrument. The research method used was quantitative with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) carried out on 97 grade 9 students of SMP Negeri 1 Wagir, through quota sampling. The validity of the instrument was assessed by experts, and construct validity was tested through CFA using Jamovi software. The results show adequate fit index values (CFI=0.902, RMSEA=0.0896), with high reliability (Cronbach's α=0.855). This instrument has consistent good results and is able to detect early pornographic behavior among teenagers. With high validity and reliability results, it is hoped that this e-booklet-based EDP instrument will be useful for guidance and counseling teachers for early detection of pornographic behavior among teenagers

Abstract

The Sexual Bullying Questionnaire (SeBuQu) is an instrument developed to assess students' understanding of sexual violence at SMPN 30 Malang. This study aims to develop a valid and reliable sexual bullying questionnaire instrument using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The objective is for the validated instrument (SeBuQu) to be usable by counselors to assess students' understanding of sexual bullying in schools. The method used to validate this instrument is Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The results of this study indicate that all questionnaire items significantly contribute to the measured construct, understanding sexual bullying, as confirmed through CFA. The analysis shows that this instrument has a good goodness-of-fit, indicating that the proposed model is valid. Through the use of this instrument, it is hoped that counselors can take a more proactive role in educating students about sexual violence, fostering a safer school environment, and reducing incidents of sexual bullying among adolescents. Future research could focus on adapting and applying this instrument in different school contexts and exploring factors that influence students' understanding of sexual violence.

Abstract

Bullying is a common issue in the school environment, with negative impacts on the mental health of individuals who become victims. To provide appropriate intervention, an instrument is needed to understand the initial conditions in the field. This step is taken to identify the level of bullying occurring in schools. Counselors require an initial assessment using an instrument to determine the level of bullying in schools. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop the Illinois Bully Scale (IBS) instrument to detect the initial level of bullying in high schools. This study involves several steps. First, content validity was assessed by three guidance and counseling experts who evaluated the suitability and relevance of the instrument items to the measurement objectives. Expert assessments indicated that the instrument was deemed appropriate with suggestions and improvements. Second, construct validity was tested using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to verify whether the instrument items correspond to the expected factors. Criterion validity was also measured by examining the correlation between the IBS results and other relevant scales. Reliability testing was conducted by calculating Cronbach's Alpha. The study subjects were students from SMA Negeri 3 Malang, with a sample of 109 students from grades 10, 11, and 12. The study results indicate that this instrument is valid and reliable, with each statement item scoring above 0.8 in the analysis. Future researchers are encouraged to design interventions to address the issue of bullying in schools.

Abstract

Verbal bullying is a form of psychological aggression that often decreases students' resilience, defined as the ability to recover and adapt to stress or trauma. This study aims to explore the resilience levels of students who are victims of verbal bullying at Universitas Negeri Malang, identify the influencing factors, and provide evidence-based intervention recommendations. A quantitative descriptive method was employed, using surveys as the data collection tool. Resilience was measured using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) with purposively selected respondents. Data analysis through descriptive statistics and mean tests showed no significant differences in resilience based on gender, age, or social support. The results indicate that resilience is influenced by internal factors such as self-esteem and emotional intelligence, as well as external factors such as social support. The study recommends integrating peer counseling based on role modeling and professional counseling to enhance resilience, along with emotional intelligence training, strengthening social support, and fostering a supportive campus environment.

Abstract

Verbal bullying among junior high school students remains a critical issue due to its profound psychological, social, and academic consequences. The increasing prevalence of such behavior, coupled with the absence of reliable assessment tools, hinders early detection and intervention in school settings. This study aimed to develop and validate the Bullying Verbal Assessment (BVA) instrument in the form of an e-book, intended to identify instances of verbal bullying among students at SMPN 28 Malang. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 92 students selected through quota sampling. The instrument consisted of 41 items assessed using the Rasch Model through the Winsteps application. Results indicated that 16 items met the validity criteria (fit MNSQ values between 0.5–1.5, ZSTD within –2.0 to +2.0, and Pt Measure Corr values between 0.4–0.85), and the instrument achieved a reliability index of 0.69, falling into the moderate category. The findings confirm that the BVA instrument is valid and reliable for detecting verbal bullying behavior. The study provides a practical and accessible assessment tool for school counselors, enhancing early intervention strategies in addressing verbal bullying cases. Its digital format facilitates integration into school counseling programs, supporting both curative and preventive actions. For future research, expanding the demographic scope and exploring the instrument’s applicability across various education levels and digital platforms is recommended to strengthen its utility and impact in broader educational contexts.

Abstract

Low self-acceptance can hinder personal development and disrupt social relationships. This study aims to develop a counseling model rooted in the philosophy of nrimo ing pandum, emphasizing patience, sincerity, and self-acceptance as central tenets. A literature review methodology encompassed five key stages: literature collection, literature selection, analysis of selected works, synthesis of findings, and discussion of results. The findings highlight the integration of the nrimo ing pandum philosophy into reality counseling as a meaningful approach to fostering self-acceptance. This philosophy reflects the Javanese cultural values of resilience, commitment, morality, and acceptance. Specifically, it can be applied during the evaluation stage of counseling, enabling counselors to explore and address clients' needs and aspirations. The study concludes that integrating the nrimo ing pandum philosophy with reality counseling offers a culturally grounded alternative to enhance students' self-acceptance. These findings contribute to theoretical advancements in counseling practices by incorporating local wisdom as a foundation for effective intervention strategies.
