Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning barriers of epistemology in the matter of circle at Madrasah Tsanawiyah level such as relationship of center angle and circumference, arc length and segment of circle. These learning barriers were found based on data obtained from students in the class who had received the previous circle material then planned to create a proper didactic design. This research aims to develop didactic design on the circle material at Madrasah Tsanawiyah level. This research was conducted in MTs Salafiyah Cirebon City in grade 8 as many as 27 respondents by using descriptive qualitative method. The didactic design was developed through 3 stages, ie didactic situation analysis, metapedadidactic analysis, and retrospective analysis. The result of this research is early didactic design, hypotetic learning trajectory, learning obstacle test result, learning obstacle post-implementation, and didactic empirical design. The early didactic design still needs to be revised to address the LO experienced by the students so that it becomes a more perfect empirical didactic design.

Abstract

This Research examined students's understanding of mathematical concepts ability. Samples are tenth grade students in one of state high school in Cirebon City. Experiment class received Challenge-based Learning (CbL) approach while control class received Conventional Approach. The instrument used was understanding of mathematical concepts ability test. The data earned were analyzed statistically. The results showed that students's understanding of mathematical concepts ability who received  CbL approach is better than students who received conventioanl approach (1/2 sig = 0.0005<0.05). In term indicators of understanding of mathematical concepts, highest enhancement that achieved by students was indicator of classify objects based on fulfilled or not requirements that form that concept, while the lowest enhanchment that achieved by students was indicator of make example or counter example from the concept learned.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the impact of H5P-assisted teaching materials on students' mathematical understanding, with a focus on the role of learning styles. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group model, the research was conducted among students from two homogeneous classes within the Mathematics Education Program at UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. The participants consisted of 99 students selected through purposive sampling based on their initial mathematical abilities to ensure comparability between groups. These participants were then divided into an experimental group, which utilized H5P interactive teaching materials, and a control group, which received conventional instruction. The findings indicated that students with a visual learning style exhibited significantly greater enhancements in mathematical understanding compared to those with auditory and kinesthetic learning styles after exposure to H5P-assisted materials. ANOVA and multiple comparison (LSD) tests revealed significant differences between the visual group and both the auditory and kinesthetic groups, with no significant differences between the latter two groups. These results highlight the importance of tailoring teaching materials to students' learning styles to enhance mathematics learning outcomes
