Abstract

Sprain ankle area injuries to the joints, with ligament tears resulting from sudden excessive stress or repeated excessive use of the joints. In general, sprain due to falls, slips, or pressure on the body that causes bones in the joints to shift, causing impaired ankle stability. Ankle sprain occurs due to muscle weakness and ligament weakness by strengthening muscle training and increasing LGS using exercise therapy, and can help and improve muscle weakness caused by complex lateral ligament damage. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the effectiveness and exercise therapy in ankle sprain patients. In the case study, patients were found to have pain while standing on one foot on their right foot, and the patient felt uncomfortable when leaning on running because of pain that disturbed his balance. Physiotherapy interventions for patients were ultrasound and exercise therapy is given in stages over 3 days. After doing a gradual exercise program for 3 days. To obtain optimal therapeutic results, good collaboration between physiotherapy and sufferers is needed so that maximum results can be obtained. Independent exercise that is done regularly by the patient and is effective therapy to increase muscle strength and increase muscle flexibility.

Abstract

Background: Among the postural muscles, the hamstrings are the ones most prone to tightness at around 68.56%. The prevalence of tight hamstrings is very high, especially among athletes. Objective: Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of dry needling for reducing pain in cases of gastrocnemius spasm in athletes. Method: This was carried out using PICO searches in several databases such as Google Scholar. There were 5 journals that met the criteria and showed the results that Dry Needling can be applied to Reduce Pain for Hamstring Spasm cases such as with a dry needling size of 0.30 mm*50 mm and a fast in fast out technique. Results: literature using A Quasi-Experimental Study research design, A Double-Blind Randomized Sham- Controlled Pilot Trial, Preliminary Results of a Randomized Within-Participant Clinical Trial, RCT and measurements VAS, NRS with p<0.05. Experimental group using Dry Needling. Conclusion: It can be concluded that Dry Needling is effective in reducing pain in athletes

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of long-term injury of patellar tendinopathy on the ability of vertical jumps in basketball athletes. Method: this research is quantitative descriptive with the type of correlation study. Samples were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of 18 male and female basketball players from the Shoots Hope club with the age category of 16 years to 23 years, with inclusion criteria. Still actively participating in training conducted by Tunas Harapan basketball club. Having a history of patellar tendinopathy or having a recurrent patellar tendinopathy injury, at least 1 month. where the duration of tendinopathy injury is measured using a questionnaire and the vertical jump ability test is measured using a sargent test. Results: The mean and standard deviation of the length of time for patellar tendinopathy injuries was 3.89 ± 2.74 calculated in months and the average vertical jump and standard deviation were 45.21 ± 8.46 calculated in centimeters. Normality test with Shapiro Wilk test obtained data with normal distribution. The results of hypothesis testing with Spearman rank correlation test showed p = 0.005 on injury time and vertical jump test and r = -0.718 with negative direction so the longer the injury the more it affects the ability of vertical jump in basketball athletes. Conclusion: There is a long-standing relationship of patellar tendinopathy injury to the ability of vertical jumps in basketball athletes.

Abstract

Low Back Pain is one of the symptoms that is often described with pain that occurs in the lumbar or lumbosacral area which attacks 7.3% in 540 million people in 2015. The most common LBP is mechanical LBP with the cause of Hernia Nucleus Pulposus and nonspecific (idiopathic). This condition causes functional and movement disorders so that the patient requires physiotherapy intervention, one of which is hydrotherapy. The research method in writing this article is a literature review through four databases, namely Science Direct, EBSCOhost, Google Scholar, and PubMed on March 26, 2021, in according to the PICO framework and inclusion criteria. The measuring tools that can be used to assess functional ability are ODI, MODI, QBPDS, and RMDQ. Effectiveness of hydrotherapy to improve functional ability in mechanical LBP cases. There is an increase in functional ability in mechanical LBP during the 8-week training period with a training dose of 3 sessions/week, 8-10 repetitions and 60 minutes/session time and the Recommended methods are walking, ROM exercise, stretching exercise, strengthening exercise, squats, lunges., stabilization exercises, US well US pedaling and cycling. The administration of hydrotherapy is effective in increasing functional ability in mechanical LBP patients with various parameters and taking into account various things, such US dosage and exercise methods.
