Abstract

Background: In Indonesia, the contribution of anemia towards the maternal mortality is estimated to reach 10% up to 20%. Anemia may know as an initiating cause of various problems of infant and maternal mortality. Many ways have been done to overcome the case of anemia, but there are still so many pregnant women who suffer from anemia. Aims: This study aimed to identify therelationship of education level, family income, compliance and procedure of iron tablet consumption with anemia in pregnant woman atMidwifery Primary Care (MPC), Pakem, sleman, Yogyakarta. Methods: This was an observational analytic study with cross sectional design. The samples of this study were 39 pregnant mothers in MPC, who met the criteria inclusion and exclusion. The data was analyzed by chi-square test. Results: There were relationships between anemia and family income (p value = 0.042), compliance (p value = 0.017) and procedure of Iron tablet consumption (p value = 0.024). There was no relationship found between anemia on pregnant woman with education level (p value = 0.172). Conclusions: The research above indicates anemia in pregnancy is not caused by a single factor and should be treated as a matter of various causes. As well as for researchers next urged to conduct further research on the nutritional intake of pregnant women and infectious diseases to determine the factors that are directly related to the incidence of anemia among pregnant women.

Abstract

Long parturition is the third largest contributor to maternal mortality in Indonesia, the incidence of prolonged labor in 2007 and 2012 remains the same at 5% (SDKI, 2012). The Partnership care model in childbirth is described by a situation where the midwife and woman become friends, friends, mutually support each other, have an equal position in the delivery process, thus partnership care can facilitate the delivery process and become the solution of choice in cases of prolonged labor. The results of a survey of 10 PMB midwives in Banjarmasin City found that 70% of PMBs did not implement the partnership care model of midwifery care in childbirth. This study aims to determine the implementation of the partnership care model of care in the delivery process by the Independent Practice of Midwives in the City of Banjarmasin quantitatively and qualitatively and to find inhibiting factors from the implementation of the partnership care model of care in the delivery process. The method used in this research is Mixed Method with sequential approach. The sample used is total sampling, namely all PMB in Banjarmasin City. Research results will be presented in quantitative and qualitative forms.

Abstract

Complicated deliveries are prone to result in maternal and fetal death. Postpartum hemorrhage is the main cause of maternal death, one of which is caused by lacerations in the birth canal. There are several things that can cause this. This study aims to analyze the determinants of the incidence of birth canal lacerations in women giving birth. The research method used a case control method, namely comparing perineal lacerations with episiotomy as cases with spontaneous perineal lacerations as controls. The research was conducted at the Islamic Hospital of Banjarmasin. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with a ratio of 1:2, namely 58 people in the case group and 29 people in the control group so that the total sample was 87 people. The analysis was carried out with chi square. The results showed that there was an effect of parity on birth canal lacerations with p value: 0.003 < (0.05), while age and birth weight had no effect on birth canal lacerations. Parity multigravida are 4.8 times more prone to laceration of the birth canal than primigravida.

Abstract

Mother's milk is an excellent source of nutrition for babies, breast milk has a balanced composition and according to the needs of the baby's growth. There are several areas in South Kalimantan where the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is still low. In the Banjar Regency area, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding reached 82.1% in 2020 and in one of the sub-districts, the coverage ratio was more than 47%. Failure to give exclusive breastfeeding, has the potential to cause nutritional deficiencies in infants. This community service aims to increase knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding so that awareness is formed in preparation for breastfeeding before birth. The participants in this activity amounted to 13 pregnant women and 9 accompanying families, so there were a total of 22 participants. The implementation method used is counseling with lectures and discussions as well as demonstrations on how to breastfeed properly and correctly. The conclusion that can be drawn from this activity is that there is an increase in knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding and good and correct breastfeeding skills. Respondents with good knowledge increased from 36.4% to 63.6%. Hopefully this community service can help create a healthy and intelligent generation with exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Babies with low birth weight are 20 times more at risk of dying than babies who weigh more. The incidence of low birth weight is still high. From the many studies that have been conducted, it is known that nutritional status is one of the factors that can affect birth weight. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with infant birth weight. The research method used a cross-sectional design by linking the variables of age, parity, gestational age and complications with the incidence of low birth weight. Samples were taken using the Consecutive sampling technique. The number of samples obtained was 96 people. Data analysis was performed using the chi square test. The results of the study found that there was a relationship between maternal age and the incidence of low birth weight, p value 0.04 <α (0.05) and age at risk 1,718 times more vulnerable to giving birth to low birth weight babies while the variables parity, gestational age and Complications are not related to Low Birth Weight.
