Abstract

Abstract: An-Nahl Islamic Preschool & Kindergarten is an Islamic-based school and uses a bilingual instruction technique. One of the materials listed in the school curriculum is prayer. Prayer is carried out once a week in the mosque to learn the stages of prayer directly. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, students could only study and pray at school. Responding to this, the community service team provided a solution by providing teaching materials for the stages of prayer through Bilingual Techniques assisted by Augmented Reality media for An-Nahl Islamic Preschool & Kindergarten Tutors. Activities are carried out directly through strict health protocols. Submission of material is done by direct practice method involving preschool and kindergarten students. According to the time specified, the activity ran smoothly and received good attention and a positive response from tutors and students. Students are directly directed by the tutor to follow the prayer stages by praying in the congregation at school.     Keywords: augmented reality; bilingual; media; technique; prayer stagesAbstrak: An-Nahl Islamic Preschool & Kindergarten adalah sekolah berbasis islam dan menggunakan bahasa pengantar yang menggunakan teknik bilingual.  Salah satu materi yang tercantum pada kurikulum di sekolah adalah pembelajaran solat. Pembelajaran solat dilakukan satu minggu sekali di masjid agar peserta didik dapat langsung mempelajari tahapan solat. Namun, selama pandemik COVID-19, Peserta didik hanya dapat mempelajari dan melaksanakan solat di sekolah saja.  Merespon hal tersebut, tim pengabdian masyarakat memberikan solusi dengan memberikan materi Pengajaran tahapan solat melalui Teknik Bilingual berbantuan media Augmented Reality bagi Tutor An-Nahl Islamic Preschool & Kindergarten.  Kegiatan dilaksakan secara langsung melalui protokol kesehatan yang ketat.  Penyampaian materi dilakukan dengan metode praktek langsung dengan melibatkan peserta didik yang terdiri dari peserta didik preschool dan kindergarten. Kegiatan berjalan dengan lancar, sesuai dengan waktu yang ditentukan serta mendapat perhatian yang baik serta respon yang positif dari tutor maupun peserta didik.  Peserta didik langsung diarahkan oleh tutor mengikuti tahapan solat dengan melakukan solat berjamaah di sekolah.   Kata kunci: augmented reality; bilingual; media; teknik; tahapan solat

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the needs of teachers and students in learning English with local content-based learning sources with augmented reality at the high school level in Riau Province. The research method was a survey with selected English teachers and students. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaires online with a google form. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. To confirm the validity of the quantitative data, an in-depth virtual interview was conducted with Google Meet. The results of the study showed that English teachers and students responded positively to developing these teaching materials with a mobile application. Specifically, from teachers’ perspective, developing local content-based learning sources with augmented reality could be possible in the narrative learning. Further, students believed that the development of this source could help the learning attainment. In conclusion, developing local content-based learning sources with augmented reality should be conducted.

Abstract

The textbook for learning to read used by students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at the Islamic University of Riau does not contain the text of Riau Malay folklore. Therefore, this study aims to identify the need for reading learning textbooks that contain the texts of Riau Malay folklore. This research is a qualitative research that uses questionnaires and interviews as instruments. Respondents in this study were students in semester 7 class of 2019 in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program, Riau Islamic University who took the Reading Learning course. The results of this study provide a description of the needs of reading learning textbooks that contain the text of Riau Malay folklore in accordance with the eligibility standards of textbooks, including aspects of the eligibility of content, presentation, language, and content of Riau folklore.

Abstract

Abstract: The sophisticated technology has the potential to integrate with social media. Hence, online social sites become a medium for youngsters’ tendency to express their appearance, identity, and narcissism. Consequently, the current study aimed to investigate the reflection of fake or real identity, personality, and emotion of Indonesian teenagers used on social media Facebook. To attain the objective of the study, qualitative descriptive was used as a research design. The data was obtained from youngsters’ posts on Facebook in the range of 2018-2019. The instrument used in gathering the data was Virtual Advertising Operations (VOA). The total data was 1473 posts. In analyzing the data that have been classified based on the three categorizations, we employed AntConc application. The findings show that youngsters express their fake personality, identity, and emotion through Facebook features in terms of style theme with several subthemes followed by spectrums and issues. On the other hand, it could be inferred that youngsters show their identity, personality, and emotion on social media Facebook based on their level of relationship. Further, future research directions on the identity, personality, and emotion of Indonesian youngsters on Facebook are discussed. Keywords: Emotion, Facebook, Identity, Personality, Youngster

Abstract

Expressive language is not only used in direct communication between individuals, but it also appears in films through dialogues between characters. These dialogues are based on real-life communication, which typically occurs between speakers and their addressees. The movie "Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap" features many dialogues that reveal the psychological attitudes of the characters. Films can be used as a medium to express functions of speech acts, such as expressive speech acts. The purpose of this research is to describe the issues and analyze the data clearly about the function of expressive speech acts in inter-character dialogues in the movie "Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap" directed by Bene Dion. The results of the study are used to develop language studies and increase reading materials related to expressive language in the field of pragmatic studies, thereby supporting reference sources for future research. The theory used in this research is the expressive speech act function proposed by Searle. The approach used is a qualitative approach with the content analysis method. The data in this study are verbal data (spoken) or all speeches in the dialogue spoken by characters in the movie "Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap" directed by Bene Dion. The data source in this research is the movie "Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap" directed by Bene Dion. The data collection technique used is observation, listening, and note-taking. The data analysis technique used is content analysis or descriptive content analysis. From the study, 75 speeches were identified as expressive speech acts. The functions of expressive speech acts found are praising, apologizing, thanking, criticizing, complaining, blaming, and praising.

Abstract

Teaching materials are an important aspect in the world of education because teaching materials are a means to support the learning process. The method used in this research is descriptive method. In this study, the data collection techniques used were interview techniques, documentation techniques, and questionnaire techniques. Based on qualitative analysis, the research data is compiled based on the steps contained in the content analysis method. These steps are carried out through three stages of the water model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The data in this study can be obtained from the analysis of the needs of reading learning textbooks which contain the text of Riau Malay folklore obtained from the results of the student needs questionnaire. Based on the description and analysis of the data, it can be concluded that the need for reading learning textbooks contains the text of Riau Malay folklore) presentation feasibility aspect, (d) language feasibility aspect, and (e) Riau Malay folklore text content aspect.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan, menganalisis, dan menginterpretasikan prinsip kerja sama tindak tutur direktif dalam tuturan tokoh film Kau dan Dia Season 2 sutradara Ivan Bandhito. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah film Kau dan Dia Season 2 sutradara Ivan Bandhito yang menceritakan tentang persahabatan dan cinta. Dalam penelitian ini, dapat dilakukan analisis terhadap tuturan-tuturan antar tokoh dalam film Kau dan Dia Season 2 sutradara Ivan Bandhito. Teori yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah teori Ibrahim dan Grace dalam Rahardi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik simak dan teknik catat. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah (1) identifikasi, (2) coding atau pengkodean, (3) klasifikasi data, (4) analisis data, dan (5) interpretasi atau pembahasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para tokoh film Kau dan Dia Season 2 sutradara Ivan Bandhito telah memenuhi aspek-aspek tuturan yang terdapat dalam kajian pragmatik. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa para tokoh film Kau dan Dia Season 2 sutradra Ivan Bandhito banyak menggunakan tindak tutur direktif dan menaati aturan-aturan maksim prinsip kerja sama.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada banyaknya fungsi tindak tutur asertif yang ditemukan dalam film Cinta Subuh sutradara Indra Gunawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, mendeskripsikan, menganalisis, dan menginterpretasi fungsi tindak tutur asertif dalam film Cinta Subuh sutradara Indra Gunawan. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode analisis isi dan pendekatan kualitatif. Film Cinta Subuh dijadikan sebagai sumber data penelitian, serta data penelitian dari tuturan dialog tokoh-tokoh dalam film Cinta Subuh. Pada penelitian ini penulis menggunakan teknik simak dan teknik catat untuk mengumpulkan data. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah teknik analisis isi. Menurut temuan penelitian, terdapat lima fungsi tindak tutur asertif yang digunakan dalam film Cinta Subuh, di antaranya: menyatakan, memberitahukan, menyarankan, mengeluh, dan melaporkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 42 data untuk memberitahukan, 8 data untuk fungsi menyatakan, 5 data untuk fungsi menyarankan, 5 data untuk fungsi mengeluh, dan 3 data untuk fungsi melaporkan. Tindak tutur asertif fungsi memberitahukan yang paling sering digunakan dalam film Cinta Subuh sutradara Indra Gunawan.

Abstract

Permainan tradisional menjadi salah satu muatan budaya yang perlu untuk dipertahankan agar tidak hilang. Terlebih fenomena permainan anak yang mulai beralih ke dunia digital dan atau permainan latto-latto yang sedang viral. Tentu saja, menjadi tantangan agar permainan tradisional yang mengedepankan nilai-nilai tanggung jawab, kerja tim, kejujuran, bahkan melibatkan alam sebagai ciri khasnya tetap hadir di setiap generasi. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra dari kesepakatan tim pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat solusi yang ditawarkan adalah (1) Mengingatkan kembali permainan tradisional dilingkungan masyarakat setempat, (2) Meningkatkan pemahaman peran permainan tradisional pada saat ini. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu Ceramah, Demonstrasi, Diskusi, dan Evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat tersebut, para peserta mendapatkan dan meningkatnya pengetahuan tentang peran permainan tradisional serta mendapatkan cara-cara yang dapat dilakukan guna mempertahankan eksistensi permainan tradisional di daerah tersebut.

Abstract

Critical reading is a very necessary competency in the millennial era. Readers are required to think and reason critically to selectively accept the information obtained. Therefore, as a reader, you must be able to filter information that is in accordance with the characteristics of the Indonesian people based on Pancasila. This is in accordance with the demands of future learning to make Pancasila students. Critical reading strands humanist literacy, one way that can be done to form a profile of Pancasila students. Humanist literacy is an activity that aims to communicate and collaborate on human attitudes. The purpose of this study is to find the characteristics of critical reading learning materials that link humanist literacy as a future learning direction. The data of this research are in the form of questionnaires and interview results from 16 lecturers spread across four major universities in Riau. The method of data collection was done through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis technique was carried out reflectively with the help of TagCrowd and AntConc. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the characteristics of the desired critical reading learning material include, (1) the material is oriented towards humanist literacy activities, (2) uses the Malay Teaching Text, (3) is oriented to the attitude and behavior approach (psychodidactic), (4) presents the critical reading content of the Tunjuk Ajar Melayu text links humanist literacy, (5) has material that is in accordance with the characteristics of Malay culture.
