Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan tentang penggunaan matematika di desa Batu Hijau Kabupaten Bone Bolango, Provinsi Gorontalo yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2022 sampai Januari 2023. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dengan memberikan pendampingan kepada masyarakat dalam hal penerapan matematika dalam konteks masyarakat desa yang meliputi: pendampingan pada pemerintah desa, anak usia sekolah,dan masyarakat. Konsep matematika yang diterapkan dalam pendampingan ini meliputi 1) pemerintah desa, perbaikan monografi yaitu pembacaan data dalam bentuk tabel dan diagram (statistika); 2) anak usia sekolah, menghitung luas daerah (geometri) dan melakukan operasi hitung bilangan (aljabar); 3) masyarakat, penyelenggaraan Pekan Olahraga dan Seni (PORSENI), menghitung tempat/lapangan untuk lomba (geometri), penyusunan jadwal turnamen dan hasil kegiatan dalam bentuk diagram dan tabel (statistika). Hasil kegiatan ini yakni pengenalan atau aplikasi matematika pada masyarakat sangat diperlukan untuk menyadarkan bahwa sesungguhnya matematika ada di sekitar kehidupan manusia sehingga diharapkan dapat menciptakan masyarakat yang melek matematika sebagai bekal dalam menghadapi persaingan global di abad 21. Selanjutnya diharapkan pendampingan dapat difokuskan pada aspek budaya yang masih melekat dalam masyarakat untuk dapat dikaitkan dengan matematika (etnomatematika) sehingga kearifan lokal dan nilai-nilai matematika dapat terus dapat dijaga dan lestarikan.

Abstract

This research is an experimental research which aims to find out whether there is an effect of the Problem Based Learning model on students' critical thinking skills in learning mathematics in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Bonepantai. The hypothesis in this study is that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning model on students' critical thinking skills in learning mathematics in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Bonepantai. The population in this study were class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonepantai. Sampling was carried out using simple random sampling technique and it was obtained that class VIII'3 was the class taught using the Problem Based Learning model (experimental class) consisting of 23 students and class VIII'2 was the class taught using the Direct Learning model (class control) consisting of 24 students. The design used in the research in this study was the pretest-posttest control group design and the data collection technique was giving a test of critical thinking skills in the form of an essay. Inferential analysis in this study is the Anakova Test. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning model on students' critical thinking skills, where the mathematical critical thinking abilities of students who are taught with the Problem Based Learning model are higher than students who are taught with direct learning models on opportunity material in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Bonepantai .

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh penggunaan media pmbelajaran Geogebra lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajran menggunakan media powerpoint terhadap hasi belajar siswa pada materi kubus dan balok. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran Geogebra lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran penggunaan media powerpoint terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi kubus dan balok kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 2 Suwawa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Suwawa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan Teknik klaster random sampling sehingga diperoleh untuk kelas VIII-A terpilih sebagai kelas yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan media Geogebra (kelas ekspeimeni) yang iikuti oleh 23 siswa dan kelas VIII-C sebagai kelas yang dibelajarkan dengan media powerpoint (kelas kontrol) yang diikuti oleh 23 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini design yang digunakan adalah pretst-posttest control group design serta Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah berbentuk essay. Analisis inferensial dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji ANACOVA. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada pengaruh hasil belajar matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran Geogebra dengan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan media powerpoint pada materi kubus dan balok.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik berbantuan video terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas X MAN 1 Kota Gorontalo semester genap tahun 2021, pada materi  trigonometri. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pre-test post-test control group design. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen menggunakan uji  two way anova, dan pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling sehingga diperoleh dua kelas sampel penelitian, yaitu kelas X IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X IPA 8 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji two way ANOVA dengan bantuan SPSS v.25 diperoleh nilai signifikansi hitung = 0,000 < taraf signifikansi = 0,05 sehingga H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pendekatan saintifik learning  berbantuan video pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan penyelesaian masalah matematika pada siswa kelas X MAN 1 Kota Gorontalo.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterbatasan bahan ajar elektronik yang dapat membantu peserta didik belajar aktif, kritis, dan mandiri pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan liveworksheet e-LKPD berbasis Discovery Learning yang valid dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development ) dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahap, analisis yaitu, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah 31 peserta didik kelas IX SMP Negeri 3 Telaga. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar validasi ahli materi dan media, serta angket respon peserta didik. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD memperoleh skor rata-rata 88,18% dari ahli materi dan 91,66% dari ahli media dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”. Uji kepraktisan melalui respon peserta didik menghasilkan rata-rata 91,28% dengan kategori “Sangat Praktis”. Dengan demikian, liveworksheets e-LKPD berbasis Discovery Learning pada materi SPLDV yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan praktis serta layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

This study investigates publication trends, citation trends, keyword distribution, and novelty potential in research on computational thinking (CT) in elementary schools over the past decade. It conducted a bibliometric analysis of English articles and proceedings published between 2015 and 2024. Data sources included academic databases, with article selection based on defined inclusion criteria. Bibliometric techniques such as co-citation analysis and keyword co-occurrence were utilized to explore trends and patterns. The number of publications on CT in elementary education has increased significantly, particularly in 2021 and 2023. Citation analysis revealed a variety of research focuses, with clusters highlighting the growing prominence of specific topics. The integration of games as a tool for teaching CT is a notable trend, with research emphasizing game design, effectiveness evaluation, and curricular applications. Keyword distribution reflects diverse methods and approaches to teaching CT in elementary settings. The findings underscore the growing interest in CT research for primary education and its evolving focus on innovative strategies, particularly educational games. Future trajectories suggest continued exploration in this area, with implications for curriculum design and teacher training. This study provides a comprehensive overview of trends in CT research in elementary schools, offering insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers. Further work is needed to explore the practical integration of CT through innovative approaches, including games, to advance primary education.

Abstract

Mathematics learning outcomes are essential indicators of educational goal achievement. However, many students, particularly in Grade X at SMK Tunas Harapan Bunobogu, Buol Regency, demonstrate low performance. Observations show that nearly 40% of students fall below the expected competency level, potentially due to limited interaction between internal and external learning factors. This study investigates the relationship between mathematical communication skills, learning quality, and mathematics learning outcomes. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 50 Grade X students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and mathematics achievement tests. Partial and multiple correlation analyses were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 27. Findings revealed a significant positive correlation between mathematical communication skills and mathematics learning outcomes, contributing 69.8% to the variance. Learning quality also showed a significant positive correlation, contributing 20.7%. When both variables were analyzed simultaneously, their combined influence on learning outcomes increased to 77.9%. These results suggest that both mathematical communication skills and learning quality play substantial roles in improving students' mathematics performance. Enhancing students' ability to express mathematical ideas, alongside improving instructional quality, could lead to better academic achievement. Future interventions should target both internal competencies and external instructional practices to optimize learning outcomes in vocational education contexts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce a quality interactive learning E-module with a cooperative learning model of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type on the quadratic function material in class X of SMA Negeri 7 North Gorontalo. This study is a Research and Development study with an ADDIE approach model consisting of 5 stages, namely, Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The data in this study were collected using several instruments, namely, media and material expert validation questionnaires to assess the level of validity, as well as student response questionnaires to measure the practicality of the developed E-Module. The results of the study were based on the assessment of the quality of media and material, in accordance with the validation carried out by media experts and material experts separately, namely 71.52% and 60.51%, with valid criteria. And the results of student responses obtained a score of 80.06% with very practical criteria. This indicates that the E-Module based on the cooperative learning model of the teams games tournament (TGT) type meets the criteria of feasibility and practicality for application in learning.

Abstract

A child displaying symptoms of dyslexic learning disorders requires assistance in accurately identifying numbers, particularly those that share resemblances. This research aimed to develop media for teaching dyslexic children to help them identify numbers correctly.This research employed a development and single-subject research method.The subject was a child with symptoms of dyslexia learning disorders from primary school in Gorontalo, Indonesia. The research instruments used were observation sheets and media validation. The findings revealed that prior to engaging with the puzzle activity, the dyslexic student demonstrated the capability to identify a range of 4 to 5 numbers accurately. However, after participating in the puzzle activity, the dyslexic student exhibited an improved performance, achieving the ability to correctly recognize and recall 8 to 10 digits in both writing and memory. The number puzzle media was developed by dividing the puzzle into two parts: the part of the screen containing the complete picture and the base placing the puzzle pieces. The puzzle pieces were made by stacking several formed duplex parts, then covered with paper glued together to create a waterproof product. The puzzle focused on the numbers contrasting in color. The numbers were divided into several parts to make it easier for dyslexic students to identify models of these numbers. After conducting media testing on a dyslexic student, the analysis demonstrated a positive impact of the media on learning outcomes. This research suggests a notable improvement in the numerical identification skills of the dyslexic student

Abstract

This study originated from empirical observations showing that junior high school learners demonstrated limited capacity in resolving mathematical tasks, especially those related to the Pythagorean Theorem, a condition assumed to have a strong association with the degree of students’ mathematical self efficacy. This investigation applied a descriptive qualitative design that emphasized an in depth case study framework. The participants involved six learners from class VIII A at SMP Negeri 1 Tomilito who were intentionally chosen using purposive criteria from an overall population of 23 students. The information required for the study was obtained by administering a self efficacy questionnaire, conducting a mathematical problem resolution assessment, and carrying out structured interviews. The results revealed that learners possessing high self efficacy demonstrated systematic problem resolution and fulfilled all indicators proposed by Polya. Learners with moderate self efficacy showed weaknesses in planning and precision, whereas those with low self efficacy experienced obstacles in comprehending problems and were unable to finalize solutions. Overall, the findings confirm that mathematical self efficacy affects students’ levels of mathematical problem resolution ability.
