Abstract

Sea Surface Temperature (SST) is a parameter of water quality in the oceans, especially in coastal areas. This research was conducted on the Jember Coast of East Java to obtain the best mathematical model and map the distribution of sea surface temperature (SST). This research method uses sea surface temperature analysis using data from Aqua Modis satellite image data level 2 in April 2020 which is analyzed by geographic information system (GIS) analysis so that the results obtained are the distribution of sea surface temperature (SST). From the results of processing satellite imagery in Jember Coast, it can be concluded that the best mathematical model comes from the 412 nm channel with the mathematical model being Logarithmic with the equation: y = 0.1631ln(Rrs_412) + 31,331 and R2 = 0.0241.

Abstract

Changes in salt levels in the aquatic environment play an important role in the life of coastal ecosystems. These changes can be known by looking at the development of living things around the main waters on the coast, where the place is widely used for fishermen to look for fish. This study aims to determine the distribution of salinity in the coastal environment so that the existing patterns of dissolved salt in these waters can be known. The method used this time is to utilize the algorithm of the visible light channel owned by the Aqua MODIS satellite image, namely wavelengths of 412 nm, 531 nm and 667 nm. The results obtained from the algorithm are that the blue canal from the satellite image provides a more optimal result compared to the ratio of the other 2 channels, where from the calculation results a significant correlation is obtained around 0.539 or about 53.9% of the satellite image data with the ratio of the blue and red canals has a correlation with the salinity distribution value on the coast of Pasuruan. The algorithm of the mathematical model that emerged was the logarithmic model Sal= 15.664*ln(Rrs_412)+115.82. In the future, the wavelength ratio can be used to study the effect of salinity concentration temporally by using different sensors in order to obtain maximum results.

Abstract

The global energy crisis, stemming from the heavy reliance on depleting fossil fuel reserves, has become a critical concern for countries worldwide, including Indonesia. In recent initiatives, hydrogen gas has emerged as a promising alternative energy carrier, generated through processes like electrolysis, which breaks down compounds containing hydrogen. This research focuses on the utilization of water electrolysis using SS 316 L, Copper, and Aluminium plates with NaHCO3, NaCl, KOH, and NaOH as catalysts. The primary objective of this study is to determine the type of plate that can produce hydrogen with lower resistivity. The average power consumption for each plate is as follows: SS 316 L at 129.88 Watts, Copper at 199.41 Watts, and Aluminium at 499.45 Watts. From the research findings, it can be concluded that the use of SS 316 L plates with NaOH as the catalyst is the most effective combination in this study, as it results in higher hydrogen production with lower power consumption or greater efficiency compared to the others. In the future, it is hoped that the research can be continued using solar panels as an alternative power source to replace the electricity supply from the national grid (PLN).
