Abstract

Background: Trained and continuous physical activity can increase estrogen levels in women, while irregular activity can increase excessive Estrogen levels. Submaximal exercise is a recommended exercise to improve a woman's physiological function The purpose of this experiment was to determine the effect of submaximal exercise on trained and untrained intensity on Estrogen levels in female white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strains. Methods: This research was an experimental study using a post-test-only control group design using 30 female Wistar rats which were divided into 5 groups: control group not treated (K1), experimental group of animals with exercise intensity without intervention (K2), group of experimental animals with untrained intensity without intervention (K3), group of experimental animals with exercise intensity with intervention (K4), and experimental group of animals with exercise intensity with intervention (K4). experimental animals with untrained intensity treatment with intervention (K5). The intervention was swimming at moderate intensity with a duration of 85% of the maximum time to swim and a load of 8% of the rat's body weight. After the treatment period, all groups were terminated to take intracardiac blood measured using ELISA. Results: The data results were analyzed using statistical tests. The results of this study found that the trained group had lower Estrogen levels compared to the untrained group, but higher than the control group. The Kruskal-Wallis test show a significance value (p = 0.157), p> 0.05. Conclusion: In this study, there was no effect of submaximal exercise between trained and untrained intensity on Estrogen levels in Wistar strain female white rat.

Abstract

Background: Intermittent fasting is done with one day of fasting and one day of eating as usual so that it can reduce oxidative stress, inhibit apoptosis and tissue damage which will reduce degenerative diseases. Fasting can activate SIRT1 and SIRT3 to prevent apoptosis by decreasing reactive oxygen species and inhibiting the mitochondrial permeability transition pore component. The accumulation of free radicals is one of the mechanisms that play a role in liver damage so that the SGOT enzyme present in the liver cells will leave and enter the blood circulation, so that the number of these enzymes in the blood increases. Objective : To prove that there was a decrease in the levels of SGOT (Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase) in male white rats (Ratus norvegicus) of the wistar strain which were fasted intermittently by the Daud fasting method after being induced by Paracetamol. Method : The research design used is a laboratory experimental research type where the method used is randomized the post only control group design. The experimental animals used were white rats (Rattus norvegicus) wistar strain 2-3 months old with an initial body weight of 150-200gr as many as 32 tails. During the fasting treatment, the research subjects were not given diet and drinking, while the non-fasting subjects were given a standard diet and drank regularly were divided into four groups, namely negative control with a water probe that was filtered for 10 days and 1ml of 1% CMC-Na, positive control with a probe. filtered water for 10 days and induction of paracetamol 400mg/kgBW, treatment 1 with standard diet and induction of paracetamol and treatment 2 with intermittent fasting and induction of paracetamol. Results: The results of this study indicate that One-Way ANOVA test obtained p value = 0.384. (p > 0.05) then H0 was accepted, there was no significant difference between the SGOT levels of the experimental animal group that was given a standard diet, the experimental animal group that was given intermittent fasting, the experimental animal group that was given a standard diet and paracetamol and the experimental animal group that was given intermittent fasting and paracetamol treatment. Conclusion: There is no effect of intermittent fasting with the Dawood fasting method on decreasing SGOT levels in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain induced by paracetamol. Abstract

Abstract

Semua kelompok setelahnya diistirahatkan selama 1 minggu. Uji one-way Anova menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p<0,05).

Abstract

Abstract

Stunting remains a significant global health challenge, profoundly impacting child growth and development, defined by a height-for-age z-score below -2 standard deviations of the WHO growth standards. Substandard sanitation and poor hygiene practices substantially elevate the risk of stunting, potentially by up to five-fold. Parental involvement, especially maternal knowledge and understanding of stunting, is crucial for its prevention. This study aimed to analyze the association between maternal hygiene practices, maternal sanitation knowledge, and stunting prevalence in toddlers. We conducted a cross-sectional, observational analytic study among mothers of stunted children aged 0-5 years within the working area of Puskesmas Sepatan, Tangerang Regency, Indonesia. A total of 63 respondents completed questionnaires assessing their hygiene behaviors and sanitation knowledge. Our findings indicate that most stunted toddlers had mothers with suboptimal hygiene practices, despite their sanitation knowledge generally being in the 'good' category. Spearman's correlation analysis revealed a significant association between maternal hygiene practices and stunting incidence (p=0.044), as well as between maternal sanitation knowledge and stunting incidence (p=0.000). This study concludes that both maternal hygiene practices and sanitation knowledge are significantly associated with stunting among toddlers in this Indonesian community, underscoring the critical need for targeted interventions focusing on behavioral change alongside educational initiatives to combat this pervasive public health issue.
