Abstract

Measurement of the intensity of blast disease attack is usually done manually, so it takes a long time and accuracy in identifying. This can hamper the handling which causes the spread to be more widespread so that it risks a decrease in rice productivity, so it is necessary to develop the estimation of attack intensity through technology using multispectra l imagery. This study aims to determine the relationship between vegetation index and the intensity of rice disease attack at various heights of image acquisition and get the accuracy of estimating the intensity of rice disease attack at various heights. S amples of disease attack intensity were taken as many as 3 plots where each plot was taken 5 points diagonally with per point taken 9 clumps. Followed by acquiring images of heights of 15 meters, 30 meters, and 45 meters using a Phantom 4 drone equipped wi th a multispectral camera, after the image is obtained, continued mosaicing using Agisoft software, then normalization using Photoshop. NDVI, SAVI, CIG vegetation index analysis is carried out using QGIS 2.28. The results showed that correlation was made t o obtain the equation used for validation, and accuracy. The relationship between vegetation index and blast disease intensity at various altitudes was linearly correlated. Vegetation index NDVI 15 meters, SAVI 15 meters and 30 meters, CIG 15 meters, 30 me ters, and 45 meters were strongly correlated. Vegetation indices NDVI at 30 meters, SAVI at 45 meters were strongly correlated with disease intensity, while NDVI at 45 meters was moderately strongly correlated with disease intensity. The 15 - meter NDVI had the highest accuracy of 97.96%. Multispectral imagery with a height of 15 meters can be used to predict blast disease because it has a very strong correlation and high accuracy for estimation

Abstract

Control systems are widely applied in agriculture, such as using microcontrollers to control humidity in greenhouses. Lack of accuracy in conditioning the humidity in indoor farming affects plant growth and productivity, especially in microgreens. The humidity of the planting media indirectly affects the air humidity through evaporation. Therefore, a system is required to control and monitor air and planting media humidity. The purpose of this study was to design and build an air humidity control system using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) in a greenhouse equipped with a monitoring and automatic irrigation system. The system control employed Arduino UNO ATmega328P as a microcontroller connected to the DHT22 sensor as an air humidity sensor, a capacitive soil moisture sensor as a humidity sensor for the planting media, relay to control misting and irrigation pump. The microcontroller was also connected to a driver as a DC fan control with PWM control, four DC fan as airflow suppliers and dehumidifiers, and LCD 16x2 as a monitoring system. The system used the air humidity setting points for microgreens which were entered manually through coding. The result of this research was a lean-to greenhouse prototype with a DHT22 sensor with air humidity error values of DHT22(1) 3.09% and DHT22(2) 3.34%. The system successfully read and displayed data and provided output with a response time of irrigation and misting systems of 78mS and 145mS, using a delay of 2 seconds. The PWM control of the DC fan was able to reduce and maintain the air humidity within the optimum range for microgreen growth by increasing as well as decreasing the DC fans’ RPM, which was based on its duty cycle value

Abstract

Biogas technology is an appropriate technology for treating livestock manure anaerobically by utilizingm ethanogenic bacteria to produce methane gas (CH4). Biogas uses renewable and flammable livestock manure raw materials with a clean methane (CH4) gas content and no black smoke. This study aims to obtain biogas production with the same length of fermentation time to obtain a comparison of batch and continuous biogas biodigester production in livestock manure biogas installations. The research began with a biodigester design using Microsoft paint and making a biodigester tool. The ratio of the combination of faeces and water is 1:1. The research was conducted in two trials, namely: a single batch biodigester containing 228 kg and a continuous batch of 228 kg with the addition of a mixture of raw materials once in three days of 18 kg. Both trials were observed every day using a U manometer to analyze batch and continuous biodigester biogas production. Based on the analysis of the specifications of the biodigester used, the capacity of the reactor tube is 0.254 m3, the raw material content capacity is 0.19 m3, the volume of the biogas chamber is 0.06 m3. The batch biodigester has a maximum pressure on day 25 of 104060.7 Pa with a production volume of biogas of 0.0616199 m3. The continuous system biodigester has a maximum pressure on day 25 of 105330.9 Pa with a production volume of biogas of 0.0623721 m3. Based on the trials, it was concluded that continuous biogas production produces higher pressure and volume of biogas than batches. The production of biogas once filled has the potential to produce more optimal biogas in a batch biodigester, while continuous biogas production will result in continued biogas production every day
