Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of POC banana skin nutrition and the use of plant medium and to obtain the best combination of treatments on the growth and yield of hydroponic cultivated tomato plants. This research was conducted in Experimental Garden of Agricultural Faculty of Riau University, Pekanbaru from June to October 2017. This study used a complete randomized design (RAL). The first factor is POC nutrients of banana skin with concentrations of: 20 ml.l-1 water, 35 ml.l-1 water, and 50 ml.l-1 water. The second factor is planting medium that is Charcoal husk, Cocopeat and Charcoal husk + cocopeat (with ratio 1: 1). The parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, flowering age, percentage of flower to fruit, number of fruit crops, age of first harvest, weight per fruit, fruit diameter and fruit weight per plant. Provision of POC banana peel 35 ml.l-1 water in husk charcoal medium to increase the growth of plant height, the percentage of flowers into fruit, the number of fruit crops and the weight of fruit crops. Keywords: nutrition, planting medium, hydroponics

Abstract

Arbuscularmycorrhizal fungi (FMA) is a soil microorganisms that form internal hyphae with plant roots producing phosphatase enzymes that are able to release P from specific bonds so that it can be absorbed by rice plants. This study aims to examine the effect of treating several doses of FMA and get the best dose to increase the results of rice plants (Oryza sativa L.) planted at a puddle height of 10 cm below the soil surface. This research is a complete randomized design trial consisting of five treatments and three replications, so that 15 experimental units. Each unit consists of five plants, so that 75 plants are obtained. All plants in each experimental unit are sampled. The treatments tested were several FMA doses consisting of no FMA, 15 g per plant, 30 g per plant, 45 g per plant, and 60 g per plant. The parameters observed were the number of productive tillers, panicle length, number of panicle branches, number of pithed grain per panicle, percentage of pithed grain, weight of 1000 grain of pithed grain, weight of dried milled grain per clump. Provision of AMF influences the yield of lowland rice. The provision of 45 g FMA per plant gave good results in increasing the number of productive tillers, panicle length, number of panicle branches and the weight of milled unhusked rice per clump. Keyword: Lowland rice, phosphatase, FMA, SRI Method

Abstract

The research aims to examine the effect of interaction of cow rumen compost with NPK fertilizer and get the best treatment combination in increasing the growth and yield of red chili pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). The research was conducted at Experimental Garden of Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Riau from September 2018 to January 2019.The research was done in a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial and repeated three times. The first treatment was cow rumen compost that consist of 3 levels that are 10 ton.ha-1, 15 ton.ha-1 and 20 ton.ha-1. The second factor was NPK fertilizer that consist of 3 levels that are 600 kg.ha-1, 900 kg.ha-1 and 1200 kg.ha-1. The observation parameters were plant height, dichotomous height, stem diameter, age of flowering, age of the harvest crop, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruits per plant and fruit weight per m2. The research data were  analyzed using analysis of varriance (ANOVA) and followed by duncan’s new multiple range test (DNMRT) at level 5%. The result of the research showed that the treatment of cow rumen compost10 ton.ha-1 and NPK fertilizer 900 kg.ha-1 gave better result on parameter of stem diameter, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruits per plant and fruit weight per m2.Keywords:cow rumen compost, NPK fertilizer, growth, red chili, yield

Abstract

 The aim of this research is to know Arabica coffee  seedling                (Coffea arabica L.) on medium subsoil Inseptisol. This research  has been conducted in Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Campus Bina Widya km 12,5 Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru City. This study was conducted from March to July 2017. This study was conducted using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD). The treatments are several types of organic fertilizer consisting of six treatment namely K0: Without composting,  K1: 50 g TKKS compost per polybag, K2: 50 g tofu waste compost per polybag, K3: 50 g coffee skin compost per polybag, K4: 50 g vermicompost per polybag, K5: 50 g kolarhino per polybag. Each treatment was performed three times in 18 experimental units. Data obtained from the observations were analyzed using variance analysis (Anova). Diversity results are followed by Duncan multiple range test at 5% level. The parameters used were the increase of seedling height, the increase of stem diameter, the increase of leaf number, total leaf area, root volume, seedling dry weight and shoot root ratio. The results showed that some kind of organic fertilizers both to the root volume of other parameters such as the increase of seedling height, the increase of stem diameter, the increase of leaf number, total leaf area, seedling dry weight and shoot root ratio. Provision of organic fertilizer vermicompost provide the best results than other organic fertilizer are TKKS, tofu waste, coffee skin and kolarhino.Keywords: Arabica coffee seedling, organic fertilizer, subsoil Inseptisol

Abstract

This research aims to determine the concentration of complement liquid fertilizer to support the growth and yield of mustard. The research was conducted at the Experimental Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from April 2014 through May 2014. Research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The concentration of complementary liquid fertilizer treatment given is B0 (0 ml/l of water) (control), B1 (1 ml/l of water), B2 (2 ml/l of water), B3 (3 ml/l of water), B4 (4 ml/l of water).The parameters measuredwere plant height (cm), number of leaves (blade), leaf area (cm2), weight fresh plants and fresh weight worth of consumption. The results showed that administration of supplementary liquid fertilizer could increase the growth and yield of mustard. The complementary liquid fertilizer at a concentration of 4 ml/l of water was the recommended concentration on the research that has been conducted for all test parameters   Keyword :Complementary liquid fertilizer, Mustard plant,Brassica juncea L.

Abstract

The research aims to observe the effect of cow manure dose and spacing in their interaction and obtain the best dose of cow manure and suitable spacing to baby corn and mungbean growth and yield on intercropping system. This research has been conducted at the experimental farm, Agricultural Faculty of Riau University on Januari to April 2016.The research was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design with 2 factors. The first factor was dose of cow manure, consisted of 4 treatments 10 tons/ha, 15 tons/ha, 20 tons/ha and 25 tons/ha. The second factor was spacing, consisted of 2 treatments 75 x 20 cm and 75 x 40 cm. Data obtained were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and continued with Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of cow manure and spacing no real effect on all treatments. Combination of 20 ton/ha cow manure and spacing at 75 cm x 40 cm were the best treatment to baby corn and mungbean growth and yield.Keywords : Cow manure, Spacing, Baby corn, Mungbean

Abstract

The  research is to study the effect application of Trichokompos and NPK fertilizer on the growth of cocoa seeds (Theobroma cacao L.) on peat medium. This research was conducted at Experimental Garden of Agricultural Faculty of University of Riau, Campus of Bina Widya, Tampan, Pekanbaru from March to June 2016. The research in form factorial used Randomized Complete Design (RCD). The first factor is Trichokompos consist of 4 levels: (0, 50, 100 and 150 g/seed) and the second factor is NPK fertilizer consist of 4 levels: (0, 2, 4 and 6 g/seed) each treatment combination was repeated 3 times. Parameters observed included height of seeds, number of leaves, stem diameter, root volume, root canopy ratio and dry weight of seeds. The results showed that the application of Trichokompos dose 150 g/seed and NPK festilizer dose 2 g/seed the height of seeds, stem diameter, root volume and dry weight of cocoa seeds increated compared to other, except in combination with higher doses. Different canopy ratios are not evident in any combination of Trichokompos and NPK fertilizers. Keyword: Cocoa, Trichokompos, NPK fertilizer, peat moss

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of growing media combination and water application volume and to determine the best treatment on the growth of palm oil seedling (Elaeis guineensis jacq.)in main nursery. The research was carried out at the Agriculture experimental station faculty of agriculture, University of Riau, from September 2015 to Desember 2015. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. Fist factor is growing medium combination consist of  3 levels of mixture ratio, M1 : Red Yellow Podzolic and Peat(1 : 1), M2 : Red Yellow Podzolic and Peat(2 : 1),M3 : Red Yellow Podzolic and Peat(3 : 1), second factor is water application volume consist of 3 levels which are, V1 : 800 ml/day, V2 : 1.000 ml/day, V3 : 1.200 ml/day. Data were analyzed with further test Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. Parameter observed are seedling height, number of leaf, stem diameter and leaf area. The result of the research showed that the usage of growing medium combination such Red Yellow with Peat Soil 2 : 1 and water application volume 1,2 l/day tend to give good palm oil seedling growth. It is suggested to carry further research with the addition more fertilizer sothat will influence all parameter.Key word ; peat, red yellow podzolic, palm oil seedling, water application volume.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the interaction of bio-slurry organic fertilizer and mulch saws and the best dosage to the growth of oil palm seedlings in Main Nursery. The research was conducted in experimental station and the soil laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Pekanbaru. The research was conducted in September – December 2016. The research was factorial experiment that arrangge by Randomized Complete Design (RAL) with treatment of 2 factors with 3 replications. The first treatment factor was the dosage of bio-slurry organic fertilizer,  0 g.plant solid bio-slurry (B0), 25 g.plant solid bio-slurry (B1) and 50 g.plant bio-slurry (B2). The second treatment factor was mulch sawdust, sawdust dose 0 g.plant (M0), sawdust dose 100 g.plant (M1) and sawdust 200 g.plant dose (M2). The results showed that the interaction of dense bio-slurry and mulch sawdust effect on nitrogen content in the leaves remained not to other parameters. Giving solid bio-slurry dose 50 g.plant and mulch sawdust 200 g.plant dose is the best treatment that can increase the growth of oil palm seedlings. Keywords: Palm oil, Main Nursery, solid bio-slurry, sawdust

Abstract

The research am to determine the effect of interaction of liquid organic fertilizer and P-fertilizer along with teh best combination in cleasing the growth and yield of onion plant (Allium ascalonicum L.). The research was conducted at experimental garden of agriculture facully, universitas riau in ovtober to desember 2018 and done in factorial form 4 x 3 using completely randomized design (CRD). The first factors was liquid organic fertilizer NASA and consist of 4 levels that are 0 m.l-1, 7 m.l-1, 8 m.l-1, and 9 m.l-1. The second factor was P fertilizer and consist of 3 levels that are 0 kg.ha-1, 150 kg.ha-1, 200 kg.ha-1.The bservasin parameters were plant height, number of leaves per clump, number of tubers per clump, tuber diameter per clump, weight of fresh tubers and weight of worth keeping tubers. The data werw analyzed using analysis of varriance and followed by duncan’s new multiple range test (DNMRT) at level 5 %. The result of the research showed that the treatment of liquid organic fertilizer have non-significant effect on all observation parameter. The combination treatment of liquid organic fertilizer 9m.l-1 and P fertilizer 0 kg.ha-1 to give the best result in creasing weight of fresh tubers and weight of worth keeping tubers.  Keywords : onion plant, liquid organic fertilizer NASA, P fertilizer
