Abstract

The research aims to find out the effect of palm oil fruit bunch compost with NPK complex’s residues after sweet corn planting for edamame soybean’s growth and production and to find out the dose of residual from palm oil fruit bunch compost with NPK complex in sweet corn planting which utilize to edamame soybean. The research was conducted at the experimental farm of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau in June to August 2014. The experiment was arranged in completely randomized design (CRD) with eight treatments and three replications. The data obtained were analyzed statiscally using analyze of variance and tested further by Duncan multiple range test at 5% level. The result showed that palm oil empty fruit bunch compost with NPK complex’s residue after sweet corn planting significantly effect to number of pods per plot and fresh pod weight per plot, but had no significant effect to plant height, the number of branches per plant, number of filled pods per plant and filled pods percentage. The residual of 5 ton palm oil fruit bunch compost with 150 kg NPK complex/ha from sweet corn planting is utilize to edamame soybean.   Keywords : Residue, palm oil fruit bunch compost with NPK complex, edamame soybean.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction of soil treatment methods and tofu liquid waste fertilizer on the growth and yield of soybean plants and get the best combination of treatments. This research was carried out at the University of Riau's Faculty of Agriculture's Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) for 4 months from April to July 2018. The study was conducted experimentally in a 3 x 4 factorial form arranged according to a completely randomized design (RAL). The first factor is the method of tillage consisting of three levels: no tillage (TOT), minimum tillage and perfect tillage. The second factor is the dose of tofu liquid waste consists of four levels: 0 ml.2m-2, 250ml.2m-2, 500 ml.2m-2 and 750 ml.2m-2. The parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of pods per plant, number of pithy pods per plant, weight of 100 seeds and dry seed production. Soil processing can accelerate flowering age and harvest age, increase the number of pithy pods per plant and dry seed production of soybean plants. Tofu wastewater fertilizer can increase plant height, accelerate flowering age and weight of 100 soybean seeds. Keywords: tillage, tofu liquid waste, soybeans

Abstract

The rice plant (Oryza sativa L.) is a kind of plant that produce rice which is the become main food for majority of Indonesian people. The total of people that rise increasingly must balance with the increasing of  rice production. One of the methods to get the increasing of rice production is applying the System of Rice Intensification (SRI).This research aims to determine the intraction of seeds number and the best fertilizer on the growth and production of lowland rice. The experiment sites in lowland field of Balai Benih Induk Holtikultura, Kaharudin Nasution Street, Padang Marpoyan, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province.Started on March Until July 2012. Research using Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial, the first factor consists of 4 threatments (1 seed/hole,2 seeds/hole, 3 seeds/hole, 4 seeds/hole) and the second factor consists of  3 treatments: Fertilizer Urea, SP-36, KCl,  P1( 60, 30, 30) g,  P2 (90, 60, 60) g and P3 (120, 90, 90) g. The measured parameters were plant height, number of totaltillers, number of productive tillers, harvest, long tassel, tassel amount per branch, 1000 seed grain weight,  weight of dry unhusked rice per plot. Data was analyzed by analysis of variance and further test by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The best treatment was obtained at 3 seeds per planting hole and Urea fertilizer dosage of 120 g/plot + SP-36 60 g/plot + KCl 60 g/plot to increase the production of milled rice per plot. Abstract

The purpose of this studyis to determine the effect of the interaction of solid germination of palm oil and phosphorus fertilizer and get the best dose on the growth and yield of eggplant. The experiment was conducted at Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University in September - December 2017 in the form of 3x3 factorial experiment arranged according to RAL where the first factor of Solid Palm oil dose (17, 34 and 51 ton.ha-1) second factor dose of TSP fertilizer (0, 75 and 150 kg.ha-1). The parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, age of first harvest, number of fruits per plant, fruit length, fruit diameter and fruit weight per plant. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using variance then the results obtained were followed by Duncan's multiple-range test of 5%. The results showed that solid grading of oil palm and TSP fertilizer had significant effect on all parameters except the age of flowering and the number of fruit crops. Giving solid of oil palm have real effect on all parameters except fruit diameter whereas TSP giving no significant effect on all parameters except the age of first harvest and weight of fruit per plant. Solid palm oil 34 ton.ha-1 and TSP 75 kg.ha-1 give the best results on the growth and yield of eggplant. Keywords: eggplant, solid palm oil and TSP fertilizer

Abstract

Onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a horticultural commodity belonging to spice vegetables that have many benefits and high economic value.This study aims to examine the effect of interaction of several types of manure and NPK and to get the best treatment of the growth and onion result (Allium ascalonicum L.). The research was conducted at experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty of University of Riau, Campus of Bina Widya Km 12,5 Simpang Baru, Tampan Pekanbaru.The study was conducted four months from September to December 2016,conducted experimentally using Randomized Complete Design (RCD) Factorial comprises 2 factors. Factor 1 type of manure (P) 10 tonnes/ha (2 kg/ha) comprises 4 levels: without manure, cow manure, chicken manure, goat manure. Factor 2 dose NPK (N) comprises 3 levels: without NPK, NPK dose 37.5 g/line, dose NPK 75 g/line, from both factors obtained 12 combinations with 3 replications there were 36 experimental units. The parameters those observedwere plant height, leaf number, greatest tubers, tubers number, weight fresh tubers, and weight tuber are suitable to store.The results of the variance continued with Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5% level. The results showed the interaction of chicken manure and NPK dose significantly affected  plant height, leaf number, greatest tubers, tubers number, weight fresh tubers, and weight tuber are suitable to store.The best combination is in the treatment of chicken manure 10 tonnes/ha and 75 g/2m2 NPK fertilizer.  Keywords:Manure, NPK Fertilizer, Onion

Abstract

Efforts to obtain the good quality of seedling wos required a proper fertilization that is by giving  horn beetle lava feces (Oryctes rhinoceros). The aim of this research is to know the effect of the interaction of horn beetle lava feces (kolarhino) and NPK fertilizers and to the amount of NPK absorption and to get the best dose on the growth of palm oil seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)in the main nursey.This research has been conducted in Experimental Station  Agriculture Faculty in Riau UniversityPekanbaru.The study was conducted for three months from August to November 2016.Field experiments were conducted using a complete factorial randomized design and three replications. The first factor of giving kolarhino consists of four levels, namely: 0 g per plant, 25 g per plant, 50 g per plant, 75 g per plant.The second factor of NPK compound fertilizer (15:15:15) consists of four levels, namely; 0 g per plant, 2.5 g per plant, 5.0 g per plant, 7.5 g per plant.The result of this research showed that significantly influenced on increase  height  seedlings,  the increase stem diameter root volume, root volume, dry weight of seedlings, N uptake , and  uptake P. While NPK fertilizer has significant effect on leaf number, root volume, dry weight of plant, and P absorption. Giving kolarhino 50 and 75 gr per platn showed better results for the growth of oil palm seedlings.  NPK fertilizer gave significant effect to the number of leaves root volume, dry weight of plants and phosphorus uptake. NPK fertilizer 2.5 gr per plant showed better result for the growth of oil palm seedlinhs. Giving kolarhino 50 and NPK fertilizer 2.5 gr per plant showed the best possible results for the growth of iol palm seedlings. Keywords: Nursery, palm oil, larval feces, NPK compound.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of volcanic ash and get the best treatment to the growth of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) seedlings in main nursery. The research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research was conducted from March to August 2015. The research used Completely Randomized Design consisting of 5 treatments with 3 replicates that contained 15 experimental units. Each unit consist of 2 seeds, so the total crop was 30 plants. Parameters measured were the increase seedling height, the number of leaves increase and the increase hump diameter. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and further tested using Duncan`s New Multiple Range Test at the level of 5%. The results of the research showed that significantly affects the volcanic ash on increase of seedling height and seedling hump diameter. The treatment of ash volcanic 100 g/plant gives the best seedling growth of all observed parameters in main nursery. Keywords: palm oil, growth, volcanic ash

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the influence of giving feces of horned beetle larvae (O. Rhinoceros) towards soil and plants in obtaining exact dose to the growth of Arabica coffee seedling (Coffea Arabica L.). This research  has been conducted in Experimental Station of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Campus Bina Widya km 12,5 Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru City. This study was conducted from March to July 2017. This study was conducted using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD). The treatment was the feces of horned beetles larvae which consists of six dose levels, such as: K0 : 0 g each plant, K1: 25 g each plant, K2: 50 g each plant, K3: 75 g each plant, K4: 100 g each plant, K5: 125 g each plant. Each treatment was repeated three times to make 18 experimental units. Data obtained from the observations were analyzed using variance analysis (Anova). Diversity results are followed by Duncan multiple range test at 5% level. Observed parameter were seedling height, the increase of stem diameter, the increase of leafs number, leafs area, roots volume, shoot root ratio and seedling dry weight. The results show that feces of horned beetles larvae application can increase the chemical properties of the soil such as N-total, P-total, K-total, C-organic, pH and decrease C/N ratio on subsoil Inceptisol. The application of this fertilizer increases the number of leafs, stem diameter, roots volume, seedling height, leafs area,  and dry weight. Applying 100 g feces of horned beetles larvae have shown good growth for vegetative growth of Arabica coffee seedling on subsoil Inceptisol. Keywords: Arabica coffee seedling, feces of horned beetles larvae, subsoil              Inceptisol

Abstract

A research has done on the effect of the combination green manure Azolla pinnata R.Br. with chicken manure toward the growth and production of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in the experiment garden of Agriculture Faculty in University of Riau. The aim of this research is to determine or to know the best combination of Azolla pinnata provision of green manure with chicken manure on the growth and production of lettuce in two planting periods. The research was conducted with two planting periods and experimentally by using completely randomized design with seven treatments that consists of : P0 = no treatment, P1 = 5 tons of Azolla + 10 tons of chicken manure, P2 = 5 tons of Azolla + 15 ton of chicken manure, P3 = 10 tons of Azolla + 10 tons of chicken manure, P4 = 10 tons of Azolla + 15 tons of chicken manure, P5 = 15 tons of Azolla + 10 tons of chicken manure, P6 = 15 tons of Azolla + 15 tons of chicken manure. The result of the research showed combination treatment influential significantly affected all parameters and treatment 15 tons/ha of Azolla with 10 tons/ha of chicken manure give a the best result on the all planting. The result of the research showed a decrease in each parameters on the second planting. Key words : Azolla, chicken manure, lettuce

Abstract

The purpose of research to know about the influence of giving kirinyuh green fertilizer interaction and little doses of NPK fertilizer along best treatment between kirinyuh green fertilizer with NPK fertilizer to palm oil seedling (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) growth on the main nursery. This research have done in the Garden of Agriculture Faculty, Riau University, Jl. Bina Widya KM 12,5 Simpang Baru, Tampan, Pekanbaru for about six months from december 2015 until mei 2016 with using Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial, there are two factors: first, Kirinyuh dose (K) had three levels, they area; K0=kirinyuh green fertilizer with 0 g/plant dose, K1= kirinyuh wet green fertilizer with 60 g/plant, K3= kirinyuh dry green fertilizer with 60 g/plant dose. Second, NPK fertilizer dose, it had three levels, they are; N0= giving NPK fertilizer with 0 g/plant dose N1=giving NPK fertilizer with 6,25 g/plant N2=giving NPK fertilizer with 12,5 g/plant. The parameter which to be subject are plant high, number of leaf, diameter of knot on tree, vast of leaf, wet plant weigh, dry root weigh, crown rasio and root. By statistic of analyse data with using kind exam and to be continue with different experience on level 5%. The result of experience shows that interaction of giving kirinyuh green fertilizer and NPK fertilizer could be influence with plant high,diameter of knot on tree, dry plant weigh amd the crown of root. With Combining on giving wet kirinyuh green fertilizer 60 g/plant doses and NPK fertilizer 12,5 g/plant are the best treatment. Keywords: Kirinyuh green fertilizer, NPK fertilizer, Palm Oil
