Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder which is a serious problem for the health of the people of Indonesia and the world, so the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) set November 14 as World Diabetes Day. The aim of the research is to increase public knowledge about Diabetes Mellitus, to behave and behave as they should in their daily lives, starting with lifestyle and patterns of food and drink intake. Counseling is carried out to PKK cadres as the spearhead who continue to the community members. The study design was a lecture accompanied by cross sectional pre and post test data collection. The results of the knowledge aspects of the study showed that there was a very significant difference between the pre and post test results (p = 0,000). The attitude aspect showed that there was no significant difference between the pre and post test results (p = 0.257), but overall the cadre's attitude regarding a healthy lifestyle to prevent Diabetes Mellitus was good enough. Behavioral aspects indicate that there are respondents who behave well, a maximum value of 3, but some are not good, a minimum value of 0. The results of blood sugar tests when showing as many as 69.57% of participants are not certain to have DM, while the rest are not DM. The conclusion is that there is a very significant increase in PKK cadre knowledge, but there has not been a significant change in attitude after attending counseling.

Abstract

Currently, the process of washing clothes is a commonly process that carried out in a household. To save human energy and washing time, a washing machine is used. There are a lot of washing machine models on the market, but in general the existing washing machine have standard functions, use electrical energy, quite expensive, and use materials that are less environmentally friendly. Based on these various shortcomings, it is necessary to design an innovative washing machine. The method used in this research is the concept of product design starting from seeing the needs to develop the desired product concept until making a product prototype. The washing machine designed in this study can be used to wash all types of clothes weighing 3 kilograms and is equipped with clothes drying device with a capacity of 20 clothes that rotates during the washing process, so it will speed up the drying process. In addition, the materials used come from secondhand goods, so the price is economic. This washing machine is not designed use electrical energy but kinetic energy, so it is environmentally friendly and can be also used as an exercise tool that can the user's body keep healthy and ergonomic when used.

Abstract

Fulfillment customer demand is main factor that have to be considered by company to win competitive competition. Right strategy is needed to meet this objective and create minimum total inventory costs. During COVID-19 pandemic, hygiene products become products that have skyrocketing demand, thus encouraging emergence of new stores selling it. One of them is Store X that sells hygiene products. The problem is discrepancy between demand from consumers with quantity of coming products. Store X warehouse also has products that are not well organized, causing difficulties in retrieval and storage products. Currently, Store X used Optional Method to control inventory based on store policy, resulting in high holding costs. This research proposed 2 inventory control strategies, where in each strategies considering Q, P, and Optional Method, as well as selected the best method based on minimum inventory total costs. First strategy, store order all of products to supplier, if there is shortage will produce 50 jerrycans. Second strategy, store always produces 4 types of products using EPQ method, while the other will be order to supplier. Based on selected strategy, warehouse layout is proposed using Class-Based Dedicated Storage Policy. From the results, second strategy with Q method is selected, that results savings in holding costs and production costs, although increase in ordering costs and shortage costs. Total cost savings per 6 months IDR 3.716.543,35 or 60,79%. Application of proposed warehouse layout, all of products are well and neatly organized, so that could increase effectivity and efficiency in retrieval and allocation.

Abstract

Sharon Plastic adalah sebuah Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) yang bergerak di bidang produksi alat-alat plastik. Adapun produk yang dihasilkan adalah gulungan benang, keran catok, kaki ranjang, dan mainan berbentuk terompet. Masalah yang dihadapi adalah sebagian besar permintaan gulungan tidak terpenuhi sehingga profit yang diperoleh tidak maksimal. Hal ini dikarenakan kurang tepatnya strategi produksi saat ini, dimana perusahaan hanya menerapkan 1 shift waktu kerja reguler.Dalam penelitian ini, diusulkan 2 alternatif strategi produksi, yaitu menerapkan waktu kerja reguler dan lembur dengan tambahan 1 mesin baru sebagai strategi 1 dan menerapkan 2 shift waktu kerja reguler dengan investasi 1 cetakan gulungan benang baru sebagai strategi 2. Kedua alternatif strategi usulan tersebut diformulasikan sebagai permasalahan pemrograman linier dengan tujuan meminimasi total biaya. Berdasarkan pengolahan data, strategi saat ini menghasilkan total biaya rata-rata sebesar Rp 93.979.065,-/tahun. Sementara strategi yang diusulkan adalah strategi 2 dengan total biaya terkecil yaitu rata-rata sebesar Rp 222.477.751,-/tahun dan payback period alat investasi sebesar 4 bulan. Dengan menerapkan strategi 2, seluruh permintaan gulungan benang terpenuhi dan terjadi peningkatan profit rata-rata sebesar Rp 67.960.212,-/tahun atau 141%. Kata Kunci:  minimasi biaya, pemrograman linier, peningkatan profit, periode pengembalian, strategi produksi

Abstract

Simulasi Monte Carlo dan Metode P(t, E) banyak digunakan dalam penelitian pengendalian persediaan, namun belum membahas pengaruh pola data permintaan terhadap biaya pengendalian persediaan. Objek penelitian ini adalah Mr. Kitchen. Penelitian sebelumnya mengkaji dua metode tersebut dan terpilih Metode Simulasi Monte Carlo. Namun penelitian tersebut memiliki kelemahan dimana data permintaan yang digunakan jumlahnya terlalu sedikit dan periodenya dalam satuan bulan, sehingga kurang mencerminkan pola data permintaan yang sesungguhnya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini akan dilakukan pengkajian pengaruh pola permintaan terhadap metode pengendalian persediaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan metode pengendalian persediaan yang terbaik untuk pola permintaan konstan, trend dan seasonal adalah Metode Simulasi Monte Carlo. Hal tersebut dikarenakan menghasilkan total biaya pengendalian persediaan yang lebih kecil dibandingkan metode P(t, E) Multi-Item. Selisih total biaya pengendalian untuk pola permintaan konstan adalah Rp 33.599.585,34 atau 32,39%; pola permintaan trend adalah Rp 57.813.023,82 atau 21,32% dan untuk pola permintaan seasonal adalah Rp 54.480.804,55 atau 19,65%.

Abstract

Kelurahan Sukawarna is one of the public facilities provided by the government to deliver service to the community within Kecamatan Sukajadi. To provide good service, one good way that can be done is to improve the knowledge and skills of ASN and LKK at Kelurahan Sukawarna. Currently, they use Microsoft PowerPoint, but some of them have only a low level of mastery, so the use of Microsoft PowerPoint in supporting their work is not optimal. Therefore, lecturers from the OSI expertise group and students carried out community service activities in training on the use of Basic Microsoft PowerPoint for ASN and LKK at Kelurahan Sukawarna. Considering the current Covid-19 pandemic, the training was conducted online using the Zoom Cloud Meetings application. The training was held for two days. On the first day, participants were given training material about using Microsoft PowerPoint, namely the File, Home, Insert, Design, Transitions, and Animations features. On the second day, training evaluation was carried out by giving assignments to the participants. Based on the assessment results of assignments, it can be seen that the participants made assignments well. The features taught in training had been used well in the assignments. The training benefits ASN and LKK at Kelurahan Sukawarna in improving their knowledge and skills in using Basic Microsoft PowerPoint. With this improvement, it is hoped that they can deliver better service to the community, e.g., socializing the prevention of Covid-19 and so on.

Abstract

During the pandemic period, many people work from home, so work facilities are needed that could support the implementation of their work. However, the body also needs to be kept healthy to stay in shape, for that exercise is needed. The technique used in design development is the Design Thinking method focusing on the integration of user needs. The use of this technique is done by collecting some input obtained from users who are still working from home during the pandemic. Work and exercise that is done in a house that has a limited area that becomes an obstacle. Therefore, it is necessary to design a work facility that also functions as a sports tool, so that it does not require a large room space in the house. The results of the research are in the form of a proposed work facility consisting of a table, chair that can be adjusted in height, and sports equipment which includes a stationary bicycle, arm swivel device, jogging plate, and stepper. the design of the work facilities is made considering the ease of installation and convenience to be carried everywhere (portable) and comfortable when used.

Abstract

The relayout of the production facilities needs to be carried out by a manufacturer if there is a new product produced that has a different material flow from the existing product. If the layout of the initial facility is maintained, the material flow will become irregular and lead to long material transfer distances and substantial material handling costs. One method that can be used for relayout production facilities is the fractal method. This method is suitable for job shop system because it could provide a high level of flexibility and low total material handling costs. The case study used in this research, which is a spare part manufacturer that initially applied the by-process layout. The initial layout is less flexible in line with the current manufacturing conditions where there are additional variations in the types of products produced. The distance between machines with different types becomes far apart. By relayout of the production facilities using the fractal method, the material handling cost savings of IDR 157,868.64/week or 60.75%/week and the total savings in moving distance is 186,365 meters/week or 38.93%/week. Fractal method is proven to be used to design the layout of production facilities and reduce material handling costs and material transfer distances.

Abstract

Dapur rumah tangga merupakan salah satu penghasil sampah organik terbesar dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Sampah organik ini akan menjadi busuk dan menimbulkan bau busuk yang mencemari lingkungan, Permasalahan inilah yang akan dipecahkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan oleh Ikatan Kekeluargaan Perempuan Maranatha(IKPM), yaitu berupa pelatihan pembuatan eco enzyme secara daring melalui aplikasi zoom kepada komunitas pendidik di kota Bandung sebanyak 29 orang. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan menggunakan metoda participant action research, dan untuk mengetahui pemahaman peserta mengenai eco enzyme digunakan metode angket yang diisi oleh peserta sebagai responden dengan menggunakan skala likert. Secara umum, hasil dari kegiatan ini meningkatkan pemahaman peserta tentang eco enzyme secara mendalam  sebesar 74%, peningkatan pengetahuan cara pembuatan eco enzyme sebesar 71,3% dan peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai berbagai manfaat dari eco enzyme rata-rata sebesar 22,05%. Sebanyak 51,72% peserta ingin segera membuat eco enzyme. Kegiatan ini direkomendasikan agar dapat dipraktikkan di dalam komunitas-komunitas lainnya, sehingga masyarakat dapat bergerak menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat.

Abstract

Stroke could cause paralysis and reduced body function. In an effort to self-mobilize, a stroke patient needs a wheelchair. Even though the existing wheelchairs have undergone significant development, both in terms of design and technology, the function of these wheelchairs is still limited, to assist users in carrying out their daily activities and there is no wheelchair that functions as a wheelchair. therapy tool. One way to recover from a stroke and help prevent further disability is therapy, both medical therapy and alternative therapy. Therefore, in this study a wheelchair was designed to function as a therapeutic tool by making circular movements carried out by the arms, hands and legs as well as movements away from and towards the chest carried by the arms and hands so that the muscles could be strengthened, thus helping the recovery process from stroke, especially those that attack the hands and feet of stroke sufferers. The method used in the design is design thinking that focuses on humans, knowing user needs, and innovating according to user needs. The design thinking process consists of 5 stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. In its design, wheelchairs are also made to consider ease of installation and use.
