Abstract

A fast and stable internet connection is the hope of all agencies and companies in their efforts to improve online performance. However, sometimes there are many obstacles to getting the desired connection quality, especially if we expect it from only 1 internet service provider. Adding an ISP in an effort to improve connection quality could be a solution if configured correctly. Load Balancing is a way to combine two network connections into one. The solution that can be taken to overcome this problem is by implementing the Nth method of load balancing and failover techniques which function to divide and balance the traffic load on the two existing connection lines and failover functions to back up if one of the ISPs goes down. The failover method test results showed that Indihome was 1 second and Indosat LTE was 2 seconds, with these results being categorized as very fast. For the Nth method load balancing results, the average Throughput results were 14472 kbps for 360p, 45501 kbps for 480p, and 27678 kbps for 720p. These results can be categorized as very good from the TIPHON standard, for an average delay of 87.25 ms for 360p, 340.6 ms for 480p and 375 ms for 720p from these results can be categorized as sufficient from the TIPHON standard, finally the average packet loss is 0.6% for 360p, 0.4% for 480p and 0.3% for 720p from these results can be categorized as very good by TIPHON standards.

Abstract

Maggot (larva lalat tentara hitam) saat ini banyak dijalankan oleh para pembudidaya. Hal tersebut dikarenakan kemampuan maggot dalam mengurai limbah organik menjadi biomassa larva yang kaya akan protein. Salah satu limbah organik adalah kotoran hewan yaitu kotoran sapi yang ada di sentral penggemukan sapi PT Berkah Salama Jaya (BSJ), Kecamatan Loa Janan, Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah penerapan teknologi yaitu pelatihan budidaya maggot dengan memanfaatkan kotoran sapi untuk menghasilkan maggot yang tinggi protein. Metode yang dilakukan adalah focus group discussion (FGD), persiapan dan pelaksanaan. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah kepada karyawan dan mitra PT BSJ, agar dapat mengetahui dan dapat membudidayakan maggot dari kotoran sapi, sehingga dihasilkan larva maggot. Pengabdian melibatkan karyawan dan mitra PT BSJ sejumlah 30 orang. Pada sesi diskusi peserta menyampaikan beberapa pertanyaan terkait budidaya maggot. Hasil evaluasi pengabdian disampaikan oleh salah seorang peserta melalui wawancara yang dimuat di berita di channel media massa elektronik. Hasil pengabdian secara umum adalah memberikan wawasan baru bagi peternak sapi mitra PT BSJ tentang berbudidaya maggot menggunakan media kotoran sapi. Hasil kegiatan lain adalah, karyawan dan mitra BSJ mampu melakukan budidaya maggot sendiri dan menghasilkan larva lalat tentara hitam. Program pengabdian ini diharapkan juga meningkatkan perekonomian di wilayah Loa Janan Kutai Kartanegara sebagai wilayah penyangga Ibu Kota Negara baru Indonesia

Abstract

Cattle plays an important role in meeting food demand in Indonesia, especially in the livestock sector, where cattle farms must be prepared to provide beef supply to various regions in Indonesia. On the other hand, in East Kalimantan, the demand for beef is also increasing along with the growth of population and economic activity. The role of technology is also quite important in meeting the need for beef. One of them is the use of website information system technology as a recording and reporting application. One of the distributors also involved in cattle farming in East Kalimantan is PT XYZ, which was newly established in 2020. The need for technology includes recording system, reporting system and cattle weight forecasting system. The purpose of this study is to design a web-based application that helps PT XYZ to record, report and predict cattle weight. The application development used Laravel framework to predict the increase in cattle weight using linear regression method. While the methodology used to develop the application was Waterfall method which included the phases of requirement analysis, application design, software development, testing and implementation. The application testing results showed that the application complied with the design that has been implemented and all the functions on the application page worked properly. The cattle weight recording and forecasting information system generated various reports, such as monthly cattle weight progress, monthly cattle sales reports, cattle weight growth forecast analysis, and cattle sales profit reports.

Abstract

This study explores the application of the Round Robin algorithm for scheduling tasks in Internet of Things (IoT) systems designed for environmental monitoring, such as temperature and humidity tracking. Efficient task scheduling is critical to minimize latency and energy consumption in IoT networks. Using a Python-based simulation, this research evaluates the performance of the Round Robin algorithm in managing 10 to 50 virtual IoT devices tasked with environmental data collection, comparing it with Priority with Aging and Genetic Algorithm approaches. The simulation results indicate that Round Robin reduces the average waiting time by 15% compared to random scheduling, while the Genetic Algorithm outperforms Round Robin by approximately 20% in high-density networks. This approach provides valuable insights into IoT scheduling efficiency without requiring physical deployment, making it relevant for large-scale IoT system development.

Abstract

Ketersediaan produksi daging sapi di Kalimantan Timur masih rendah, sehingga pemerintah masih mengimpor daging sapi dari luar daerah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan konsumsi masyarakat yang semakin naik setiap tahunnya. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut pemerintah Kalimantan Timur mendukung program pemerintah pusat, yaitu Pencapaian Swasembada Daging Sapi dan Kerbau (PSDSK) tahun 2014 yang ditetapkan Kementerian Pertanian. Melalui Dinas Peternakan (Disnak). Penggemukan sapi potong tidak hanya dengan diberi pakan bergizi setiap hari, namun ada hal lain yang membuat sapi cepat gemuk yaitu manajemen kandang yang baik. Kandang sapi yang baik dan ideal memiliki tata letak (layout) tinggi kandang 3-4,5 meter, lebar kandang 1 x 1,8 meter atau 1,5 x 2 meter, alas memiliki kemiringan 5-10⁰ memiliki selokan untuk kotoran sapi, dll. IOT dibutuhkan dalam pengecekan suhu sapi dan kelembapan kandang, yang juga membuat manajemen kandang semakin ideal. Kandang sapi di PT. Berkah Salama Jaya, Loa Janan, Kutai Kartanegara memiliki kriteria kandang ideal, namun ada beberapa yang perlu ditambahkan untuk lebih sempurna.

Abstract

Drugs, commonly called narcotics, are dangerous substances that, if consumed excessively, can result in addiction and even death. Drug abuse in Indonesia has reached a concerning stage. In 2017, the National Narcotics Agency detected 46,537 drug-related incidents, including methamphetamine, marijuana, and ecstasy. There are 4 types of substances that can affect drug users, such as hallucinogens, depressants, opioids, and stimulants. A machine learning approach can detect these substances using user symptom data as input. This study uses six different methods in classifying, including decision tree, C.45, K-nearest neighbor (KNN), random forest, and support vector machine (SVM). The dataset comprises 144 data and 21 attributes based on the user's symptoms. The evaluation method in this study uses cross-validation with K-fold values of 5 and 10 and uses three parameters: precision, recall, and accuracy. KNN yields the most optimal results by using K=1 and K-fold 10 in the Euclidean and Minkowski types. The model achieves precision, recall, and accuracy of 91.9%, 91.7%, and 91.67%, respectively.

Abstract

Political ideology classification is crucial for understanding social polarization, monitoring democratic processes, and identifying bias on online platforms. This study compares the performance of long short-term memory (LSTM), gated recurrent unit (GRU), and bidirectional GRU (Bi-GRU) neural network models in classifying liberal and conservative political ideologies from social media text data. The Bi-GRU achieved the best results with 88.75% accuracy and 89.16% F1-score, highlighting its strength in contextual analysis. These findings suggest their applicability in areas such as election monitoring and the analysis of political discourse. This study contributes to the field of political text classification by offering a comparative analysis of deep learning architectures. The dataset utilized covers a wide range of issues, including social, political, economic, religious, and racial topics, demonstrating its comprehensive nature. Visualizations using WordCloud and uniform manifold approximation and projection (UMAP) reveal distinct ideological patterns, validating the dataset’s quality for training models. The findings underscore the importance of utilizing advanced bidirectional architectures for nuanced tasks, such as ideology classification, where contextual understanding is crucial. These insights open avenues for future research, such as the application of Bi-GRU in analyzing multilingual political ideologies or real-time sentiment tracking during election campaigns.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memprediksi kebutuhan listrik di Kabupaten Berau untuk 2025-2027 menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Analisis data 2019-2024 menunjukkan tren pertumbuhan jumlah pelanggan dan daya tersambung yang konsisten. Model regresi memperkirakan kenaikan pelanggan sebesar 464,96 per bulan dan daya tersambung bertambah 1,04 MVA tiap bulan. Validasi menggunakan Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) menunjukkan tingkat kesalahan rendah, yaitu 0,6% untuk pelanggan listrik dan 3,7% untuk daya tersambung. Hasil peramalan memproyeksikan peningkatan pelanggan dari 89.331 pada 2024 menjadi 105.908 pada 2027, serta daya tersambung dari 183,90 MVA menjadi 207,57 MVA. Untuk menghadapi lonjakan permintaan, PT PLN (Persero) perlu meningkatkan infrastruktur serta menyediakan cadangan daya sebesar 13,10 MVA guna menjaga stabilitas pasokan listrik.

Abstract

The industrial engineering department website of Mulawarman University faces challenges in disseminating academic information due to inadequate maintenance. This research utilizes the design thinking method to enhance the website's user interface and user experience (UI/UX) and evaluate its usability against the current version. The decision to use design thinking is grounded in its established effectiveness in improving website UI/UX. The study involves empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing phases. User needs and concerns were identified through interviews, observations, and tools such as affinity diagrams, user personas, and user journey maps. Creative concepts were developed and organized using the priority matrix, sitemap, and user flow. Wireframes and mockups facilitated pre-construction design visualization. The redesigned UI/UX prototype resulted in a significantly improved user experience, as evidenced by the results of the user experience questionnaire and system usability scale. The initial UEQ scores indicated low usability, with attractiveness at 0.85, perspicuity at 1.01, efficiency at 0.71, dependability at 0.76, stimulation at 0.41, and novelty at -0.18. Following the redesign, scores notably increased, attractiveness at 2.06, perspicuity at 1.89, efficiency at 1.94, dependability at 1.79, stimulation at 2.05, and novelty at 1.64. SUS testing revealed an average rise to 76 from 63 points, indicating enhanced user satisfaction, acceptance, and descriptive ratings. The website's grade improved from C to B after the redesign. In conclusion, the UI/UX redesign successfully enhanced website usability and user experience.

Abstract

Penggunaan smartphone yang semakin populer di berbagai kalangan masyarakat dikarenakan perangkat ini menyediakan beragam  fitur yang dapat digunakan kapan dan dimana saja. Akan tetapi, perangkat ini mengalami beberapa keterbatasan termasuk kapasitas penyimpanan dan waktu pakai baterai yang singkat karena pengurasan energi yang meningkat saat menjalankan aplikasi yang memerlukan komputasi intensif pada perangkat seluler. Aplikasi e-commerce atau belanja online merupakan salah satu aplikasi internet yang banyak digunakan. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan studi analisis konsumsi energi aplikasi belanja online yang populer di pasar Indonesia antara lain Shopee, Tokopedia, Lazada, Blibli, dan Bukalapak berbasis smartphone. Pengukuran konsumsi energi menggunakan aplikasi Accubattery. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan konsumsi energi dengan aplikasi belanja online, serta menganalisis konsumsi energi dari aplikasi belanja online. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan konsumsi energi dan aplikasi belanja online dapat dilihat berdasarkan ketiga kondisi yang digunakan, yaitu peningkatan konsumsi energi dipengaruhi oleh pengguna aplikasi belanja online yang melakukan aktivitas dalam aplikasi. Kemudian, jenis akses internet yang digunakan juga mempengaruhi dimana data seluler lebih banyak mengonsumsi energi daripada Wi-Fi. Selain itu, penggunaan pada waktu tertentu juga sedikit berpengaruh pada konsumsi energi, meskipun tidak sebesar pada konsumsi energi berdasarkan kondisi aktivitas dan jenis akses internet. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Blibli memiliki rata-rata konsumsi energi terendah pada keseluruhan kondisi di antara kelima aplikasi belanja online yang diuji dalam penelitian ini, konsumsi terendahnya ketika menggunakan akses internet Wi-Fi pada penggunaan idle sesi 1 sebesar 0,0547 Wh.
