Abstract

Technological innovations in education have become a global trend aimed at improving student learning outcomes. One such innovation is the development of e-modules, which provide students with effective tools to engage with subject content. Book Creator is an application that facilitates the creation of interactive and dynamic e-modules. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—to develop an e-module on the topic of Earth's shape and surface. The study was conducted in two elementary schools with a sample of 120 fifth-grade students, divided into control and experimental groups. The e-module development was validated by experts in material content, media, and language. Data collection methods included observation, expert appraisal, and pre- and post-test assessments. The validation results demonstrated the feasibility of the e-module for use in enhancing students’ learning motivation, with validation scores of 69% from media experts, 93% from material experts, and 100% from language experts. These findings indicate that the Book Creator-assisted e-module is an effective instructional tool for improving learning motivation, particularly in the context of IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) in elementary education.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of tropical architectural elements in maintaining thermal comfort in the Kobuang Limo House, a traditional Malay dwelling in Riau, Indonesia. Employing an embedded mixed-method approach, the research integrates field measurements and interviews with climate-based simulations. Thermal comfort was evaluated using Effective Temperature (ET), based on SNI 03-6572-2001, incorporating air temperature, humidity, and wind speed. A three-day field measurement in December 2024 showed that the hipped roof, singap ventilation, wall openings, and raised floors contributed to passive cooling, although corrugated zinc roofing increased indoor temperatures during the day. To extend the analysis over an annual cycle, statistical monthly climate data from BMKG were used in combination with deviation-based correction factors to simulate indoor conditions. Results indicate that ET values remained within the optimal to slightly warm comfort categories throughout the year, with peak values observed in bedrooms and kitchens during the dry season. The findings emphasize the adaptive performance of tropical architectural design and suggest improvements in insulation and cross-ventilation strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to develop ‘Les Nombres’ material based on a card game in French for students. This research is a type of research and development (R&D). This study uses Sugiyono’s steps with modifications and five steps used, namely: (1) identification of potentials and problems, a needs analysis was carried out using a questionnaire addressed to class X SMA Swasta Budi Agung, and interviews with teachers. This step was carried out to determine the learning conditions in this school and to determine the need to develop card-tossing games. (2) Data collection and the identification of existing barriers were also carried out. Data was collected from needs analysis questionnaires, interviews with teachers, and documentary studies; (3) Product design, the comic strips are designed using the Canva application; (4) Product validation, the product is a modified comic medium and is validated by experts. The validation process is carried out by two experts, the material experts and the media experts; and (5) product advice, after obtaining expert advice, the product design is validated. The product is revised or improved based on the results of the assessment provided by media and material experts to achieve a decent standard. This study aims to develop media support for the French card-throwing game for pupils. The material used is ‘Nombres’. Data analysis with the percentage of descriptive quantitative approach. The results of the research and development of this card-throwing game were declared feasible from a material point of view with a feasibility level of 80% and from a media point of view with a feasibility level of 90%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the material and the card-throwing games developed can be applied to teaching French numbers to pupils.

Abstract

Konsep pembangunan berkelanjutan yang menjadi amanat dalam agenda pembangunan global SDGs harus diimplementasikan di seluruh aspek termasuk dalam hal pembangunan kota. Prinsip pembangunan berkelanjutan ini dapat diterapkan salah satunya melalui efisiensi pembangunan baik dalam optimalisasi pemanfaatan lahan ataupun efisiensi bangunan. Pada tahun 2022 telah disusun suatu dokumen perencanaan berupa pembangunan Mal Pelayanan Publik (MPP) Kota Sungai Penuh yang akan dibangun pada sebuah aset tanah idle yaitu lahan bekas Pasar Minum Kawo Square Kota Sungai Penuh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelayakan pembangunan MPP Kota Sungai Penuh dilihat dari aspek legal dan fisik, serta merekomendasikan alternatif teknologi untuk optimalisasi MPP Kota Sungai Penuh berdasarkan nilai total asetnya. Kajian kelayakan aspek legal dan fisik mengacu pada metode Analisis Highest And Best Use (HBU). HBU akan memastikan pembangunan telah memperhatikan peruntukan lahan sesuai dengan Rencana Tata Ruang Kota yang ada. Analisis Life Cycle Cost (LCC) dilakukan untuk mengetahui nilai total aset MPP Kota Sungai Penuh sehingga diperoleh rekomendasi teknologi untuk optimalisasinya. Berdasarkan hasil kajian kelayakan, MPP Kota Sungai Penuh layak untuk dibangun di lahan bekas Pasar Minum Kawo Square Sungai Penuh. Analisis LCC menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan teknologi terbarukan berupa PLTS dan PAH akan meningkatkan efisiensi energi MPP Kota Sungai Penuh.

Abstract

Rencana Detail Tata Ruang (RDTR) Kota Sungai Penuh tahun 2021- 2024 menyebutkan bahwa banjir merupakan salah satu isu strategis di Kota Sungai Penuh. Meskipun upaya-upaya telah dilakukan dalam manajemen drainase, belum tersedianya database aset drainase berbasis digital di Kota Sungai Penuh menjadi kendala yang signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan database aset menggunakan Geographic Information System (GIS) di Dinas PUPR Kota Sungai Penuh sehingga pengelolaan aset milik Dinas PUPR Kota Sungai Penuh menjadi lebih optimal dalam pemanfaatan, pengelolaan dan pemeliharaannya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode waterfall untuk perancangan sistem dan analisis pieces untuk mengevaluasi kondisi database aset. Dalam penelitian ini didapatkan hasil bahwa sistem database aset infrasturktur drainase masih belum memuaskan pengguna dari berbagai aspek. Terdapat beberapa aspek yang memerlukan perbaikan dan pengembangan lebih lanjut. Untuk mengoptimalkan database aset dirancang sebuah sistem database yang menggunakan Geographic Information System (GIS). Hasil evaluasi dengan analisis pieces membuktikan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan setelah adanya perancangan database aset dengan GIS.

Abstract

Cette étude a pour but de décrire l'utilisation du matériel d'apprentissage Pop Up Book pour l'amélioration des compétences de compréhension du ecrite des élèves de français de la classe XI IPA 1 à SMA Negeri Medan. Les sujets de recherche étaient 36 étudiants. Cette recherche est une recherche-action en classe (PTK) dont l'objet est la recherche sur les compétences de compréhension de la lecture en français. Cette recherche a été menée en deux cycles courts, du 7 mai 2024 au 24 mai 2024. Chaque cycle comprend les étapes de planification, d'action, d'observation et de réflexion. Dans cette étude, il y a eu deux sessions d'apprentissage d'une durée de 45 minutes chacune. Les données de recherche ont été obtenues à partir de données qualitatives et quantitatives, à savoir l'observation, les entretiens, les questionnaires, les notes de terrain et les résultats des tests. Les résultats ont montré que l'utilisation de supports d'apprentissage peut améliorer les compétences de compréhension de la lecture des étudiants en français de la classe XI IPA 1 à SMA Negeri 11 Medan. Au cours du pré-test, on savait que seuls 6 étudiants avaient obtenu des résultats conformes au critère de complétude minimum (KKM) fixé par l'enseignant, à savoir 80. 30 étudiants ont obtenu des résultats inférieurs au KKM. Le score moyen des élèves était de 68,00. Dans les activités d'apprentissage du cycle I avec les supports d'apprentissage Pop Up Book, la valeur moyenne du cycle I a augmenté, ce qui signifie que 11 élèves ont atteint le KKM, tandis que 25 élèves n'ont pas atteint le KKM. Au cycle II, le score moyen des élèves a continué à augmenter, à savoir que 24 élèves ont obtenu un score conforme au KKM, tandis que 12 élèves ont obtenu un score inférieur au KKM. Par conséquent, on peut conclure que l'utilisation du média d'apprentissage Pop Up Book peut améliorer les compétences en lecture des élèves de la classe XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 11 Medan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas berbagai pendekatan dalam penilaian efektivitas program, termasuk pendekatan eksperimental, berorientasi pada tujuan, berfokus pada keputusan, berorientasi pada pemakai, dan responsif. Selain itu, dijelaskan tentang pembelajaran berbasis web dan platform FluentU yang digunakan untuk belajar bahasa melalui konten video autentik. Penelitian ini juga menyoroti keterampilan menyimak dalam bahasa Prancis dan pentingnya penilaian untuk mengukur kemampuan tersebut. Hipotesis penelitian menyatakan bahwa penggunaan FluentU berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan mendengarkan bahasa Prancis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain pre-test dan post-test pada satu kelompok mahasiswa di Universitas Negeri Medan. Penelitian ini membahas penggunaan website FluentU untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mendengar mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Prancis di Universitas Negeri Medan, dengan dua variabel penelitian yaitu variabel independen (X) yang merupakan penggunaan website FluentU dan variabel dependen (Y) yang adalah peningkatan kemampuan mendengar mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan FluentU terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mendengar bahasa Prancis mahasiswa. Penelitian ini juga menekankan pentingnya motivasi belajar dan pengembangan metode pembelajaran bahasa asing berbasis digital di Indonesia. Saran untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran termasuk integrasi FluentU dalam kurikulum, pengembangan materi yang sesuai, dan pelatihan bagi pengajar.

Abstract

Indoor air quality (IAQ) in educational laboratories is critical for safeguarding occupant health and structural integrity. Elevated CO₂ levels (>1,000 ppm) impair cognitive function and cause drowsiness, while formaldehyde (HCHO) emissions from building materials are carcinogenic (Group 1 IARC) and trigger respiratory inflammation. Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs) induce sick building syndrome through chronic exposure, damaging neurological and hepatic systems. Particulate matter poses multifaceted threats: PM₁₀ deposits in upper airways causing irritation, PM₂.₅ penetrates lung alveoli increasing cardiovascular mortality risk (WHO, 2021), and PM₁.₀ translocates to bloodstream carrying adsorbed toxins. Beyond health impacts, these pollutants degrade building systems—PM accumulation corrodes HVAC components, HCHO embrittles organic materials, and TVOCs form surface films that accelerate wear. This study quantitatively assessed IAQ in ten Poltekkes Riau laboratories against Indonesian Ministry of Health Regulation No. 48/2016 thresholds. Real-time measurements of CO₂, HCHO, TVOC, and particulate fractions (PM₁.₀/PM₂.₅/PM₁₀) were conducted under active/inactive ventilation modes. Results revealed widespread noncompliance: 80% of labs exceeded PM₂.₅/PM₁₀ limits during ventilation downtime, while microbiology and health promotion labs showed hazardous TVOC (max 1,200 µg/m³) and HCHO (max 120 ppb) concentrations. These findings demonstrate systemic IAQ failures, necessitating urgent ventilation upgrades and low-emission material retrofits to mitigate health risks and preserve building functionality.

Abstract

Student motivation in learning IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) subjects remains relatively low. This issue can be attributed to various factors, such as the limited utilization of learning resources and the lack of comprehensive content coverage. The purpose of this study is to create an electronic instructional module with the assistance of Kvisoft Flipbook Maker. The study used research and development (R&D) methodology, explicitly incorporating the ADDIE model. The participants were subject content experts, media experts, language experts, and 96 fifth-grade elementary school students. Data collection methods consist of observations and assessments. Expert evaluations were conducted utilizing questionnaires, whereas students were administered with Pre-test and Post-test assessments. Data analysis was performed using quantitative descriptive techniques. The evaluation results from media experts indicated a 77% feasibility score, while material experts scored 93% and language experts scored 100%, signifying high feasibility. The findings suggest that implementing E-Modules positively impacts student performance, as evidenced by improved evaluation outcomes following integrating of the Kvisoft Flipbook Maker-assisted electronic module. This research underscores the significant role of technology in boosting elementary school students' motivation.

Abstract

In grade IV, students continue to show low learning in learning materials at school, especially in IPAS material. many things that cause one of them is learning media that is still conventional. This study aims to develop a FlipHTML5-assisted electronic module with the aim of improving learning outcomes and motivation. By combining R&D methodology with the ADDIE development concept. With an average result from material validators of 70% which included the “Feasible” category, an average result from media validators of 96%, which included the “Very Feasible” category, and an average result from language validators of 85%, which included the “Very Feasible” category, the findings showed that implementing electronic learning modules with the support of FlipHTML5 was very feasible. By evaluating the effectiveness of FlipHTML5-assisted E-Modules in IPAS subjects and calculating N-Gain and t-test values to determine differences from experimental and control groups, this research has helped in the development of teaching materials and is effectively used in the learning process. The results of the analysis show that the development of electronic modules is feasible, which aims to motivate students to learn.
