Abstract

Characteristics of students who are diverse, such as different learning styles will also lead to the possibility of differences in students' ability to understand the learning material and every problem given, especially at the stage of understanding the problem given, because this stage is the most important step to determine the next problem-solving step. Therefore this study aims to reveal and illustrate how different characteristics of visual, audio and kinesthetic students in understanding problems. Data retrieval was done in class VIII of Arjasa 1 Junior High School with test methods, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed through stages of data reduction, analysis, and decision making. Furthermore, based on the data analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that there are differences in the characteristics of understanding problems for visual, auditory and kinesthetic students in terms of completeness and regularity of information writing, quantity of repetition of reading questions, marking important information and activity/movement habits done during the process of understanding the problem.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran merupakan suatu hal yangpenting untuk menunjang keberhasilan suatu pembelajaran. Kesulitan siswa dalam memahami materi dan membedakan bentuk-bentuk bangun datar merupakan permasalahan yangsering dihadapi guru. Oleh karena itu, maka sangat perlu dilakukan pengembangan dengan jalan modifikasi kartu UNO sebagai media pembelajaran bangun datar yang valid, praktis dan efektif sehingga mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama bulan Januari hingga November 2018 dengan melibatkan 58 siswa SMP Negeri 1 Arjasa dan MTs Nurul Jadid Bondowos sebagai subjek peneltian dalam uji coba pelaksanaannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang menggunakan perangkat berupa lembar validasi, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan media pembelajaran, lembar soal tes hasil belajar dan lembar angket siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah berupa hasil modifikasi kartu UNO menjadi suatu bentuk kartu GEO yang telah valid, praktis dan efektif dalam menngkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap bangun datar segiempat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education untuk pembelajaran bangun ruang sisi lengkung yang dilaksanakan di kelas IX di MTs Baitur Rohmah yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil pengembangan modul ditinjau dari aspek kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Pada penelitian ini dihasilkan pula instrumen penelitian yaitu lembar validasi, lembar observasi, tes, dan angket. Modul diuji kevalidannya oleh ahli materi dan media. Dari uji coba lapangan, didapat penilaian kepraktisan modul yang dinilai dari hasil angket respon siswa dan respon guru. Sedangkan untuk penilaian keefektifan modul dinilai dari tes hasil belajar siswa, aktivitas guru, dan aktivitas siswa. Hasilnya yaitu tersusunnya modul berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education untuk pembelajaran bangun ruang sisi lengkung yang valid, praktis, dan efektif

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesadaran dan pengaturan berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada soal PISA. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian kualitatif. Dipilih 2 siswa kelas XI SMA Nurul Islam Jember sebagai subjek penelitian, 1 siswa untuk kategori siswa yang memiliki nilai paling tinggi dan 1 siswa untuk kategori siswa yang memiliki nilai paling rendah. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan wawancara. Dilakukan analisis terhadap kesadaran penuh dan pengaturan berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal permasalahan berjenis PISA pada mata pelajaran matematika. Komponen kesadaran dan pengaturan berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada soal PISA yaitu attention, recall of knowledge, planning, monitoring dan evaluation. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh bahwa kesadaran dan pengaturan berpikir siswa berkemampuan tinggi dan siswa berkemampuan rendah berbeda serta bergerak secara tidak linear. Siswa berkemampuan tinggi dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada materi kecepatan yaitu melalui komponen attention, recall of knowledge, planning, planning, monitoring, evaluation, attention, attention, monitoring, recall of knowledge, planning, monitoring, recall of knowledge, planning, monitoring kemudian evaluation. Sedangkan kesadaran dan pengaturan berpikir siswa berkemampuan rendah dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada materi kecepatan yaitu melalui komponen attention, recall of knowledge, planning, planning, monitoring, evaluation, attention, attention, monitoring, recall of knowledge, planning, monitoring, recall of knowledge, planning, monitoring kemudian evaluation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see the effectiveness of the use of e-learning based media in mathematics learning at the Raudlatuth Thalabah Vocational School. Research methods, namely quantitative research with descriptive research designs where data collection uses the test, observation, and questionnaire methods. Data analysis was performed descriptively quantitatively involving 25 students of class X-A. The results of the research and analysis of the data obtained obtained information that each aspect of the ability to manage the learning process, and student activities during learning, learning outcomes of students and the responses students have after participating in learning are good criteria. It can be concluded that mathematics learning using e-learning based media is significantly effective. Keywords: Effectiveness, E-learning Media, Mathematics Learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan secara jelas tentang proses berpikir refraktif siswa extrovert dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa bertipe kepribadian extrovert dari siswa kelas IX D SMP Negeri 5 Jember.  Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan tes. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis berdasarkan indikator berpikir refraktif dengan menggunakan triangulasi waktu. Penelitian dilakukan dari Oktober 2021 sampai November 2021. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan kepribadian extrovert dapat mengumpulkan informasi, menafsirkan informasi, serta menghubungkan informasi pengetahuan sebelumnya yang telah dimiliki untuk menyelesaikan soal. Pada proses penyelesaian, siswa extrovert dapat mengajukan 2 alternatif solusi penyelesaian, kemudian mengeliminasi alternatif tersebut untuk memperoleh solusi penyelesaian terbaik. Selanjutnya, siswa extrovert dapat menyelesaikan soal berdasarkan strategi yang dipilihnya, menentukan jawaban dengan tepat serta menyimpulkannya dengan valid. Hal ini menunjukkan  siswa extrovert mampu berpikir refraktif sesuai dengan indikator berpikir refraktif.

Abstract

The research aim to describe the types of learning difficulties by students while solving the problems of algebraic factoring in class VIII. This research is a type of qualitative research with an exploratory approach. This study is intended to reveal, analyze and provide an overview of the difficulties experienced by class VIII students while solving algebraic factoring problems with the research subjects being 3 junior high school students who had the lowest scores when working on problems. To ensure the validity of the data obtained, this study uses source triangulation to compare and double-check the degree of trustworthiness of the information obtained. After analyzing the data regarding the difficulties experienced during solving the problemsof algebraic factoring, it was concluded that the difficulties experienced by students were (1) Unable to distinguish coefficients, constants, and terms; (2) The subject has difficulty in performing operations with positive and negative integers; (3) The subject does not know the value of a variable; (4) The subject does not know the next steps when solving the problem; (5)The subject does not know the steps to do after completing the distributive step and (6) The subject cannot find two numbers instead of bx with .  Keywords: learning difficulties, problem solving, algebraic factoring

Abstract

Analysis of new student registration based on data, that new students of FPMIPA IKIP PGRI Jember in many registration forms dropped first choice in biology education study program and second choice in other faculties, based on that matter is an evaluation material that must be done by FPMIPA whether students new students who choose biology education study programs also have good basic math skills with the aim of improving the quality of new student admissions at FPMIPA, so it needs to be analyzed about the basic mathematical abilities possessed by new students who are in FPMIPA Especially new students of biology education study programs. The formulation of the problem in this case, is how to analyze the basic abilities of mathematics to improve the quality of new students of FPMIPA, with the aim is to find out the results of the analysis of the basic mathematical abilities of new students of FPMIPA to improve the quality of FPMIPA new student admissions each year. Descriptive qualitative research design with 6 research subjects, the results of the study that the structure of solving mathematical problems that are owned by new students of biology education study programs, 4 subjects have basic mathematical abilities. The study concludes that new students of FPMIPA who have an interest in choosing biology education study programs also have basic mathematical abilities, which is an effort to improve the quality of new student admissions at FPMIPA.

Abstract

The recitation method is a learning method that is characterized by the work of assignments by students. Analogy ability is the ability of a person (student) in solving problems by drawing conclusions based on the similarity of the process or the data provided. Learning outcomes are abilities possessed by students after students carry out learning activities. This study aims to describe how the process of applying the Recitation method improves students' analogical thinking skills and student learning outcomes. The subjects in this study were students of class VIIIA SMP Satya Dharma Jalan Puger, Balung District, Jember Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out with observation sheets, tests, and documentation. This research uses classroom action research (CAR). The results of the study can be seen from the acquisition of the percentage of teacher and student activities in the first cycle of 94.87% and 87.17% respectively, while in the second cycle the percentage of teacher and student activities is the same, namely 97.43%. Analogy thinking ability and student learning outcomes in the first cycle respectively get an average of 41.26% and 60% while in the second cycle the average Analogy thinking ability and student learning outcomes are 66.98% and 80.47%. So it can be concluded that applying the recitation method can improve students' analytical thinking skills and student learning outcomes.
