Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see the effectiveness of the use of e-learning based media in mathematics learning at the Raudlatuth Thalabah Vocational School. Research methods, namely quantitative research with descriptive research designs where data collection uses the test, observation, and questionnaire methods. Data analysis was performed descriptively quantitatively involving 25 students of class X-A. The results of the research and analysis of the data obtained obtained information that each aspect of the ability to manage the learning process, and student activities during learning, learning outcomes of students and the responses students have after participating in learning are good criteria. It can be concluded that mathematics learning using e-learning based media is significantly effective. Keywords: Effectiveness, E-learning Media, Mathematics Learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan secara jelas tentang proses berpikir refraktif siswa extrovert dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa bertipe kepribadian extrovert dari siswa kelas IX D SMP Negeri 5 Jember.  Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan tes. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis berdasarkan indikator berpikir refraktif dengan menggunakan triangulasi waktu. Penelitian dilakukan dari Oktober 2021 sampai November 2021. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan kepribadian extrovert dapat mengumpulkan informasi, menafsirkan informasi, serta menghubungkan informasi pengetahuan sebelumnya yang telah dimiliki untuk menyelesaikan soal. Pada proses penyelesaian, siswa extrovert dapat mengajukan 2 alternatif solusi penyelesaian, kemudian mengeliminasi alternatif tersebut untuk memperoleh solusi penyelesaian terbaik. Selanjutnya, siswa extrovert dapat menyelesaikan soal berdasarkan strategi yang dipilihnya, menentukan jawaban dengan tepat serta menyimpulkannya dengan valid. Hal ini menunjukkan  siswa extrovert mampu berpikir refraktif sesuai dengan indikator berpikir refraktif.

Abstract

The research aim to describe the types of learning difficulties by students while solving the problems of algebraic factoring in class VIII. This research is a type of qualitative research with an exploratory approach. This study is intended to reveal, analyze and provide an overview of the difficulties experienced by class VIII students while solving algebraic factoring problems with the research subjects being 3 junior high school students who had the lowest scores when working on problems. To ensure the validity of the data obtained, this study uses source triangulation to compare and double-check the degree of trustworthiness of the information obtained. After analyzing the data regarding the difficulties experienced during solving the problemsof algebraic factoring, it was concluded that the difficulties experienced by students were (1) Unable to distinguish coefficients, constants, and terms; (2) The subject has difficulty in performing operations with positive and negative integers; (3) The subject does not know the value of a variable; (4) The subject does not know the next steps when solving the problem; (5)The subject does not know the steps to do after completing the distributive step and (6) The subject cannot find two numbers instead of bx with .  Keywords: learning difficulties, problem solving, algebraic factoring

Abstract

Analysis of new student registration based on data, that new students of FPMIPA IKIP PGRI Jember in many registration forms dropped first choice in biology education study program and second choice in other faculties, based on that matter is an evaluation material that must be done by FPMIPA whether students new students who choose biology education study programs also have good basic math skills with the aim of improving the quality of new student admissions at FPMIPA, so it needs to be analyzed about the basic mathematical abilities possessed by new students who are in FPMIPA Especially new students of biology education study programs. The formulation of the problem in this case, is how to analyze the basic abilities of mathematics to improve the quality of new students of FPMIPA, with the aim is to find out the results of the analysis of the basic mathematical abilities of new students of FPMIPA to improve the quality of FPMIPA new student admissions each year. Descriptive qualitative research design with 6 research subjects, the results of the study that the structure of solving mathematical problems that are owned by new students of biology education study programs, 4 subjects have basic mathematical abilities. The study concludes that new students of FPMIPA who have an interest in choosing biology education study programs also have basic mathematical abilities, which is an effort to improve the quality of new student admissions at FPMIPA.

Abstract

The recitation method is a learning method that is characterized by the work of assignments by students. Analogy ability is the ability of a person (student) in solving problems by drawing conclusions based on the similarity of the process or the data provided. Learning outcomes are abilities possessed by students after students carry out learning activities. This study aims to describe how the process of applying the Recitation method improves students' analogical thinking skills and student learning outcomes. The subjects in this study were students of class VIIIA SMP Satya Dharma Jalan Puger, Balung District, Jember Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out with observation sheets, tests, and documentation. This research uses classroom action research (CAR). The results of the study can be seen from the acquisition of the percentage of teacher and student activities in the first cycle of 94.87% and 87.17% respectively, while in the second cycle the percentage of teacher and student activities is the same, namely 97.43%. Analogy thinking ability and student learning outcomes in the first cycle respectively get an average of 41.26% and 60% while in the second cycle the average Analogy thinking ability and student learning outcomes are 66.98% and 80.47%. So it can be concluded that applying the recitation method can improve students' analytical thinking skills and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The problem of misconceptions about flat building in geometry, especially quadrilateral, has been very frequently reviewed by practitioners and educational researchers. However, this remains an inherent problem to date and results in confusion of the basic concept of quadrilaterals. Therefore in this study a geometry-themed learning media was created, especially quadrilateral in the form of geometric t-shirt design to make it easier for students to understand the definitions and differences between the quadrilateral itself. Based on the results of the study, it was found that geometric T-shirt learning media was declared valid with a score above 3 or in the good category. Whereas for the fulfillment of practical criteria, a value of 3.5 is obtained, which means that the shirt of geometry does not require revision and is practical. The value of effectiveness is effective, where the results obtained that the geometry shirt provides learning outcomes that have a significant effect on the achievement of the defined KKM and the achievement of a positive response of 97.12% by students. So that the geometry T-shirt learning media is declared valid, practical and effective in accordance with the criteria for developing instructional media.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the transformation of Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum values ​​related to students' numerical abilities which were carried out at SMP Islam Terpadu Syarif Hidayatullah Sukorambi. This study used a qualitative descriptive method, where the research subjects were class VIII students, totaling 15 students. Data collection was carried out twice, namely pre-test and post-test during the Kampus Mengajar Program batch 4. Each question consisted of 20 items with 12 indicators. The highest increasing scores of the two are in indicators number 2, 5, and 9. Balanced or equal scores are found in indicators number 1, 4, 6, 7, and 8. There is a decrease in scores in indicators number 3 and 12. These results indicate that there is a significant transformation marked by an increase in score from the pre-test average of 19.42% to the post-test average of 28.33%. Both are in the range of values ​​≤40. From this, it can be concluded that the numeracy skills SMP Islam Terpadu Syarif Hidayatullah students belong to the low category so improvements are needed in improving numeracy skills accompanied by support from the school.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the important subjects in realizing the goals of education in Indonesia. However, in reality there are many students who have different problem solving abilities between one and the other and many students make mistakes when solving problems. The mistakes that are often carried out by students can also be influenced by differences in learning styles possessed. Therefore this article aims to describe differences in errors made by reflective-impulsive students in solving mathematical problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive that involving 2 research subjects with each subject having a different learning style. This research was conducted in class VII Pakusari Jember 1 Junior High School in the academic year of 2018/2019. The results of data analysis showed that differences in mistakes made by junior high school students with reflective-impulsive learning styles in solving mathematical problems were located at the stage of determining mathematical models and at the stage of completing mathematical models that had been made with the percentage of impulsive learning styles when compared to a subject that is reflective learning style.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties of students with special needs (mentally retarded, deaf, and blind children) in understanding mathematical concepts, which will be described by levels. The research uses descriptive method. Data collection technique used observations of students with special needs to see the difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts (dyscalculia), and interviews conducted with mathematics teachers to complement the results of the observations. The research sample is deaf students, blind students, and mentally retarded students in the Jember district. The data analysis technique in this study uses the flow model. The results of this study were that the level of achievement with good assessment categories was dominated by blind students, namely from 10 aspects of the assessment only weak in the section on grouping the shape dimensions, while the deaf achieved good assessments, namely 1) sorting objects based on the length and short size, 2) understanding the number of objects, 3) understanding numbers, and 4) writing and saying numbers. Meanwhile, mentally retarded students only have 1 good assessment aspect, namely understanding the length of objects. The conclusion is that dyscalculia is mostly suffered by mentally retarded children, deaf children suffered moderate level, and the best level of the subject is blind children.

Abstract

Kesulitan belajar adalah fenomena yang seringkali terjadi pada siswa, tidak sedikit siswa yang tidak dapat mengatasi kesulitan tersebut sehingga hal tersebut menyebabkan nilai dan juga prestasi siswa menurun. Kesulitan tersebut dapat diketahui melalui jawaban siswa saat menyelesaikan soal. Kesulitan belajar matematika yang sering terjadi saat siswa menyelesaikan soal adalah kesulitan menghitung, kesulitan menafsirkan simbol, dan kesulitan memahami materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan belajar siswa dan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan siswa kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal fungsi matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 18 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Kalibaru Satu Atap. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes uraian sebanyak 2 butir soal, dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat diperoleh yaitu kesulitan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Kalibaru Satu Atap dalam menyelesaikan soal aljabar fungsi adalah: 1) kesulitan pada operasi hitung positif dan negatif, 2) kesulitan mengingat rumus sehingga terkadang lupa cara mengerjakannya. Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Kalibaru Satu Atap kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal fungsi yaitu : 1) siswa kurang teliti dalam mengerjakan soal, 2) siswa terburu-buru dalam mengerjakan soal, 3) siswa kesulitan menghitung operasi hitung positif dan negatif, 4) siswa kekurangan waktu dalam menyelesaikan soal.
