Abstract

This study aims: To determine whether there is an effect of the guided inquiry learning model on the heat material science process skills of the fifth grade students of SD Inpres Malengkeri Rank 1, Tamalate District. To find out there is an influence of the guided inquiry learning model on science learning outcomes on heat transfer material for fifth grade students of SD Inpres Malengkeri Rank 1, Tamalate District. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that the guided inquiry model has an influence on science learning outcomes in fifth grade students of SD Inpres Malengkeri Stratified. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method involving 60 samples based on the sample population of class V at SD Inpres Malengkeri Rank 1. Which was divided into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, then pre-test and post-test were carried out in the two classes. the. The results of this study indicate that the application of the guided inquiry learning model descriptively can be argued that the science process skills average score of the experimental class is 96.00 while that of the control class is 77.83. Whereas in the learning outcomes the average value of the experimental class was 85.40, while the control class was 75.60. Based on the results of the analysis of the Multivariate Tests, it shows that in the generative row, the significance value for both Pillai Trace, Wilks' Lambda, Hotteling's Trace and Roy's Lergest Root is 0.000 <0.05 or smaller than the r-table. So thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so the effect of the guided inquiry learning model on science process skills and science learning outcomes on heat transfer material for class V SD Inpres Malengkeri Level 1, Tamalate District.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to find out what the science learning outcomes are before and after being taught using the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model assisted by direct object media as well as the effectiveness of the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model assisted by direct object media on science learning outcomes. The type of research used in this research is pre-experimental and is a quantitative type of research. The sample in this study was 17 students. Data collection techniques were carried out using learning results tests and observation sheets. Data analysis of research results was obtained from descriptive statistical data analysis and inferential data analysis. The research results show that the magnitude of science learning outcomes before being taught through the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model assisted by direct object media is with an average score of 63 and a completion percentage of 43%. The magnitude of science learning outcomes after being taught through the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model assisted by direct object media with an average score of 83 and a completion percentage of 100%. . Results of descriptive and inferential analysis testing with the help of SPSS 23.0 for Windows. the results of testing the research hypothesis using the right-hand collaborative t-test, obtained a t-value of 3.873. The ttable value of α = 0.05 and dk = 17 – 2 = 15 is 2.009, so the result obtained is tcount > ttable, namely 3.873 > 2.009. Based on these results, H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be stated that there was an increase in science learning outcomes for fifth grade students at SDN 57 Sangeran, Enrekang Regency before and after being taught using the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model assisted by direct object media.

Abstract

Science education in elementary schools requires a concrete approach to help students understand abstract concepts such as food chains and webs. This study aims to develop a science diorama media based on rice field, sea, and forest ecosystems as an interesting, interactive, and effective learning tool in improving the learning outcomes of fifth grade students. The methodology used is research and development with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The media was developed through the stages of needs analysis, visual and instructional design, validation by material and media experts, and limited trials on elementary school students. Data were collected through observation, validation questionnaires, pretests and posttests, and teacher and student responses. The validation results showed that the diorama media was very feasible to use with a feasibility score above 95%. The average student score increased significantly from 52 to 83 after using the media. The results of the N-Gain analysis revealed that most students experienced a high increase in learning outcomes. Teacher and student responses to the media were very positive, stating that the media facilitated understanding of concepts and increased student involvement in learning. This media successfully simplifies the concept of ecology into real visualizations that are easily understood by students of concrete operational age. Science dioramas are proven to be effective as an innovative and contextual science learning solution. This finding has positive implications for improving the quality of learning media in elementary schools and is a reference for the development of similar media on other abstract materials.
