Abstract

This research was conducted on July 2014, which is held in the Laboratory of fishing Gear Materials, Utilization of Water Resources, The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. The purpose of this study was to know breaking strength of Tetoron yarns which have experienced the preservation of different extracts and drying times. This study used an experimental method by performing the experiments effect of Tetoron yarns which will experienced the preservation by the extracts of papaya leaves, guava leaves and betel leaves that were soaked in the equal concentration. The Breaking strength of yarns that used betel leaves in 10 days of drying times are higher than the yarns with both of the other extracts. It is caused by the tanin degree of betel leaves is higher than the other extracts, that is amount 20% of tanin degree. By the computation of ANAVA test obtained the result Fhit > Ftab, sig < 0,01, it means that there are the differences of Tetoron yarns breaking strength with different extracts soaking and drying times.Keyword : The breaking strength of yarns with different exstract soaking and drying times.

Abstract

ABSTRACTsarah.adriani@gmail.comThe aim of this study was to determine the variability of the concentration of chlorophyll-a and sea surface temperature (SST) as well as its relationship with the catch of yellowstripescad(Selaroides leptolepis) in the waters of the coast of Sumatera. The value of SST and chlorophyll-a concentration  was obtained from MODIS. While the data of yellowstripescad(Selaroides leptolepis) obtained from the PelabuhanPerikananSamudera Belawan. The highest yellowstripescadcaught in the East season and the second transition season with an average catch of 3529kg/year and 3549.4kg/year. In the east season the average chlorophyll-a was 0.76 with a range0.2mg/m3-1.36mg/m3 and an average sea surface temperature of 30.03oC with a range of 28.54oC-30.93oC. In the transitional season II averages of chlorophyll-a 1.15 with a range of 0.61mg/m3-1.99mg/m3 and average sea surface temperature of 28.88oC with a range 27.45oC-29.96oC. The west season is the most dominating of the chlorophyll-a concentration of about 3.93mg/m3. The SST of Malacca Strait is following of the wind pattern that occurred in Indonesian water. On fluctuations in chlorophyll-a and catches in the East season and transition season II explain that the decrease in chlorophyll-a concentration is inversely proportional to the fluctuations in catches, while fluctuations in sea surface temperature and catches in the East season and transition season II have and influence on the rise and fall of sea surface temperature. Correlation r2 between catches with clorophyll-a and sea surface temperature are very weak (r= 0.12) or the contribution of chlorophyll-a and sea surface temperature only 1.4% forward the yellowstripescad catches.Key word :Aqua MODIS, Chlorophyll-a and Sea SurfaceTemperature and Selaroides leptolepis.

Abstract

Abstract This study was conducted on 9-17 june 2018, is located in Carocok Tarusan coastal fishing port west, Sumatera Barat. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of environmental friendliness of fishing gear operating in the Carocok Tarusan coastal fishing port, whether it is in accordance with FAO rules or guided by 9 CCRF criteria (1995). The method used in this study is the survey method, by making direct observations and filling out questioneres by the panelists. The object under study is a boat lift net and palagic danish seine fishing gear.as well as deep interview and questioneresand analyzed using descriptive analysis of the results of the research described in graphic form, and tables. The results showed that the boat lift net and palagic danish seine fishing gear used by fishermen in the Carocok Tarusan coastal fishing port was an ecofriendly boat lift net fishing gear with a score of 27,78 and palagic danish seine fishing gear which was also classified as an ecofriendly fishing gear with a total score of 26,27.Keywords : Carocok Tarusan Coastal Fishing Port, CCRF, Fishing gears

Abstract

For purpose to compare line fishing catches, which its were set close at FAD’s device and without FAD’s. Series fishing ctivities were carried out at fishing ground with FAD’s and without FAD’s during July 3rd -13th, 2013 in Teluk Rhu village, North Rupat district, Bengkalis regency, Indonesia. The result show that the composition and number of line fishing catches was signficatly different from T test to the weight of fish Thit = 5.37> Ttab = 1.833, this means Thit> Ttab, Ho is rejected and Hais accepted.with FAD’s and without FAD’s. The line fishing catches by FAD’s  was caugth 1.3 kg (3 individuals) snapper, 0.9 (3 individuals) groupers and 0.4 kg (1individual) puffer fish. While, the line fishing catches without FAD’s was 8 kg (5 individuals)  groupers, 3.1 kg (4 individuals) snappers, 4.6 kg (3 individuals) stingrays, 2.6 kg (3 individuals) croakers and 6 kg (3 individuals) spines.   Keywords: Fish agregating device(FAD’s), line fishing, Teluk Rhu village

Abstract

ABSTRACT Batam City based on Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2004 concerning Spatial Planning of Batam City in 2004-2014 is located between 00 25' 29” – 10 15' 00” North Latitude and between 1030 34' 35” – 1040 26' 04” East Longitude. The land area of Batam City reaches 1,038.84 km2 and the water area is 2,791.09 km2 (Batam City Statistics Center, 2018).Management of fisheries resources in Indonesia can be done in various ways, one of which is through fishing business. One of the currently developing fishing techniques is the use of purse seines. In its development, fishing purse seinegear continues to experience improvements, not only in form or construction but also from materials to make boats or ships used for fishing business.Productivity in fishing units has increased and decreased every year, it can be said to have fluctuated. This usually happens because each trip from the GT of the ship to the way of operation is sometimes different. The highest productivity of fishing units onfishing purse seinegear was in 2016 with a total of 255815 kg/GT and the highest CPUE was in 2017 with a total of 14,582 kg/Trip. Vessels operating at PSDKP Batam predominantly have a large GT which ranges from 21 – 198 GT.The factors that affect the productivity ofcatches purse seine are ship size (GT), engine power (PK), fuel consumption (L), net length (m), in net (m), number of crew (persons) and number of lamps (units).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the potential fishing ground of tuna(Thunnus sp) by mapping distribution of sea surface temperature satellite imageryof Aquarius and catched in waters of West Sumatra and then plotted estimated offishing ground in form of map. The analysis data was conducted in FishingGround Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences University of Riau,Pekanbaru. This study using Aquarius satelite imagery data level 3, with a 4 kmspatial resolution. In this study sea surface temperature ranging from 27,040C–30,170C. Tuna was catched dominantly temperature in west season is in range27,090C–29,280C, transition season I 27,040C–30,170C, east season 28,690C–29,820C and transition season II 27,320C–29,540C. The catched with CPUEhighest value 7.5963 kg/day in August. The catches of all tuna is category viablecatch. The potential fishing ground were found ground of Siberut and Siporaisland waters. Keywords : Sea Surface Temperature, Satelite Imagery, Aquarius, T. Albacares,T.obesus.
