Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted at the Fish Landing Base, having its address at Jalan Pangkalan Sesai-Dumai, on 02-10 August 2019. The purpose of this research is to Analyze the time in each facility that is passed and Knowing the landing activity of catches While the benefits of this research are as a source of basic information to improve the time process of fishermen's catches so that the time is shorter and the level of freshness is more maintained.  From the results of this study, Analysis of fishermen's catches needs to be known so that catches are more awake and the freshness of fish will be better when it arrives at consumers. The transporting time of fishermen's catches at  Dumai City Fish Landing Base with a span of 72 hours - 120 hours (3-5 days) on sondong boats and on gill nets 96 hours - 120 hours (4-5 days). In addition, the freshness of fish is also supported by the ratio of the use of ice used by fishermen is 1: 2-1: 3 on sondong boats, while gill nets 1: 1 - 1: 4 the ratio of ice used. According to the Director General of  POM, Dep. Kes 1987 Good use of ice can maintain the freshness of fish for 3-5 days. Keywords:Time Analysis, Gill Net and Sondong, Dirjen POM,Dep.Kes1987

Abstract

AbstractThis research has been carried out in July 2019 until August 2019, in Alah Air Village, Tebing Tinggi District, Meranti Islands. The purpose of this study is to determine the general construction of the kurau net fishing gear, know the productivity of the kurau net fishing gear, determine the catch season index, describe the number of catches and target species (main target), analyze the length of the caught fish. The method used during this research is a survey method bydescribing directlythe work process of the kurau net fishing gear and participating in the operation process of thekurau net fishing gear.Based on the results of the production of Kurau nets for 5 years shows that efforts to catch kurau fish and the production of kurau fish experience fluctuations every year. In the period starting from 2015-2019, 2017 was the year of the highest production of kurau nets with the number of catches of kurau nets with a total of 7205 kg / year, and the highest catch occurred in March, which was 867.7 kg while the lowest catch occurred in July that is 166.6 kg. Based on the calculation of the Catching Season Index, it is known in October to April that the catches are abundant. In those months fishing is best done and the peak season is in January. In May to September the fish catch is very small, this month is a bad time for fishing. Keywords: Kurau Net, Productivity, Fluctuation, Catching Season Index

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to identify and determine environmentally friendly tuna fishing gear and the priority for developing fishing gear at PPI Kuala Langsa. The method used in this research is a survey method. Moreover, purposive sampling was chosen as a sampling technique in selecting respondents as the sample. The data obtained were processed using the scoring and analytical hierarchical processes (AHP) methods. Based on the eco-friendly level, the longline scored 82.71%, the surface gill net scored 79.38%, the bottom gill net scored 76.04%, and the purse seine scored 74.79%. Based on the results of the AHP analysis, the fishing gears that became the main priority were longline with a value of 0.311, purse seine with a value of 0.293, surface gill nets with a value of 0.220, and bottom gill net with a value of 0.176. The government must reoptimise the catch of tuna based on environmentally friendly criteria. Also, it is necessary to conduct further research related to environmentally friendly fishing gear for other types of fish, and it is necessary to apply regulations regarding environmentally friendly fishing gear

Abstract

Fish resources have limits; therefore, it is necessary to carry out appropriate management so that resource utilization is sufficient for a long time. Areas used as fishing businesses need to know how the level of utilization. For this reason, clear information is needed on the potential and level of utilization of marine fisheries resources to support the management policy of tuna resources for optimal management and utilization and to prevent the reduction of fish stocks in the future. This research was conducted for three weeks in July 2023 at Bungus Ocean Fishing Port (PPS), Padang City, West Sumatra Province. The method used in this research is a survey method or direct review of the field. The maximum sustainable potential value was obtained at 572.36 tons with an optimum utilization effort value of 330 trips. The allowable catch of longtail tuna is 457.89 tons, with an average utilization rate of 97.41%. Based on the average value of the utilization rate obtained from 2018 to 2019, the number of allowable catches, and the MSY value, it is concluded that the longtail tuna caught by bagan boats and Tonda fishing rods at PPS Bungus has experienced overfishing. There is a need for more action and monitoring of the amount of catch obtained each year, as well as limiting the amount of catch allowed for each fisherman so that the utilization rate of longtail tuna can return to optimal catch and prevent overfishing and maintain fish stocks for the future
