Abstract

This research aims to explore the potential for developing Tengkudak village as a tourist village from the perspective of the local community. Data collection through observation, interviews, and literature study using quantitative descriptive analysis. The sample was determined as 100 people through proportional random sampling. Informants were selected from the community who understood the existence of the village through proportional random sampling. The research results show that the local community basically strongly agrees with developing this village as a tourist village, with a score of 4.11 (agreeing to develop it into a tourist village). To be able to maximize the development of the tourist village, it is necessary to involve pentahelic actors (government, academics, tourism actors, the media, and local communities) in the development of the tourist village. The government is only limited to facilitating, and local communities are the main actors in developing tourist villages, so they can better understand natural and cultural phenomena, as a determinant of the quality of tourism products owned by the village. This can certainly foster a common perception of all Pentahelix actors and provide the widest possible space for local communities as the main actors in developing tourist villages.

Abstract

Sibetan Village agrotourism has been open since 2003, but the hope is that tourists coming to Sibetan Village can increase the selling power of salak. In fact, tourists who visit agrotourism are not yet optimal consumers of the salak produced in Sibetan Village, so the salak produced during the main harvest cannot yet be fully marketed. . This condition requires assistance to groups in supporting agrotourism, especially strengthening human resources in Sibetan Village. The service was carried out in Sibetan Village, Banyakdem District, Karangasem Regency. Service is carried out using several methods, namely: Socialization, Training, Mentoring, Evaluation, Follow-up. The service involves 5 groups engaged in the production and marketing of salak fruit in Sibetan Village, these groups include: Dukuh Lestari Group, Kerta Semaya Group, Werdi Guna, Mekar Sari. The total number of group members is 118 people. The service activities showed that there was a change in the knowledge of group members in the field of marketing salak fruit, packaging and hygiene of products marketed in agro-tourism areas. Assistance provided to farmer groups in Sibetan Village shows that there has been a change in the group's skills in marketing products using online media, packaging salak and product hygiene reaching 80%. This is due to several obstacles faced by group members, such as their weak mastery of technology in using Android. There are not many properties for packaging snake fruit in Sibetan Village, and product hygiene is not commonly carried out during the snake fruit harvesting process. So further assistance is needed to overcome the obstacles faced by the group.

Abstract

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Farmers in Badung Regency face uncertainty in rice prices, which affects their welfare. Price instability makes it difficult for farmers to earn a decent and sustainable income. To overcome this problem, constructing a Rice Milling Unit (RMU) is one strategic solution, as it can guarantee the price of rice received by farmers. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of RMU development from three main aspects: rice availability, community rice demand, and financial feasibility. METHODS This descriptive study was conducted in Badung Regency, Bali Province. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and interviews with farmers, business actors, and relevant policymakers. The feasibility analysis of rice availability and rice demand was conducted descriptively. Meanwhile, financial feasibility was analyzed using several investment criteria, namely Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period. FINDINGS The study's results indicate that the construction of an RMU is feasible in Badung Regency. This region has production and consumption potential that supports the project in terms of rice availability and demand. From the financial aspect, the project shows profitable results with an NPV of Rp. 171,931,999.193, Net B/C of 1.2900, IRR of 25.05%, and a Payback Period of 1.44 years. CONCLUSION The construction of a rice milling unit in Badung Regency is an appropriate solution to address the uncertainty farmers face in paddy prices. In addition to ensuring stable paddy prices, this development supports rice availability for the community at stable prices

Abstract

The community service program was carried out in Bunutin Village, Bangli Subdistrict, Bangli Regency, over a period of ten months, involving lecturers, students, and partners, namely local fish farmers and crop farmers. The village has great potential in catfish and tilapia aquaculture as well as in rice and peanut farming. However, it still faces several challenges, including low productivity, limited market access, and a lack of processing knowledge, resulting in production outputs that have not yet achieved optimal added value. The purpose of this activity was to focus on training in the processing of agricultural and aquaculture products as an effort to improve community welfare through the diversification of local products, specifically the production of pepes ikan nila (steamed tilapia in banana leaves). The methods used in this activity included counseling, socialization, demonstration, and direct mentoring, with evaluation conducted through pre-tests, post-tests, observations, and group discussions. Participants were equipped with skills in selecting fresh ingredients, preparing seasonings from local agricultural products, and applying modern processing and packaging techniques, including the use of vacuum and frozen packaging. The evaluation of the counseling and mentoring program on agribusiness analysis was conducted by assessing participants’ understanding through pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The pre-test questionnaire was distributed before the training activity began, while the post-test was administered after the activity was completed. The evaluation results of the training on branding and digital marketing showed an increase in the average level of understanding from 46.16% (less understanding) to 53.8% (understanding). Meanwhile, the evaluation of skills in the agribusiness analysis mentoring showed improvement among participants. The pre-test and post-test results indicated that, on average, 85% of members who were previously rated as “fair” improved to 80% rated as “very good.” In conclusion, this program successfully improved participants’ knowledge and skills in processing agricultural and aquaculture products, while also opening opportunities for sustainable business development.
