The study is aimed to find out the correlation between vocabulary mastery and studentâs English interest toward studentâs English achievement of the second grade students of SMPN 3 Sukoharjo; both partially and simultaneously. This study used a test, a questionnaire, and a documentation to collect the data. The population of the study is all of the second grade students while the sample is 50 students taken by cluster random sampling technique. The techniques used to analyze the data are simple and multiple correlation and regression by using SPSS 17. The results of the study show that there is a positive correlation between vocabulary mastery and studentâs English interest toward studentâs English achievement, both partially and simultaneously. The positive correlation indicates that vocabulary mastery and studentâs English interest tend to go up or to go down together with studentâs English achievement.

This article refers to an experimental research about the effectiveness of Practice Rehearsal Pairs Method to teach speaking at TOEFL Training Class of Language Laboratory in STKIP Muhammadiyah Bangka Belitung. The population of this research is the university students who took TOEFL Training Class of Language Laboratory in STKIP Muhammadiyah Bangka Belitung. The sample of this research consists of two classes; class A was used as the experimental group treated by using Practice Rehearsal Pairs, and class B as the control group treated by using lecture method, each class consists of 30 students, so the total sample is 60 students. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The instruments used to collect the data are students? motivation questionnaire and speaking skill test. The data were analyzed by using multifactor analysis of variance (ANOVA 2X2) and Tukey test. Based on the results of the analysis, the findings of this research are: (1) Practice Rehearsal Pairs is more effective than lecture method to teach speaking; (2) the students with high level of motivation have better speaking skill than those with low level of motivation; and (3) there is an interaction between teaching methods and students? level of motivation to teach speaking. Based on the above findings, it can be concluded that Practice Rehearsal Pairs is an effective method to teach speaking for the university students who took TOEFL Training Class of Language Laboratory in STKIP Muhammadiyah Bangka Belitung?. The effectiveness of the method is influenced by the students? level of motivation.

The purpose of conducting this study is based on problem identification asking whether there are correlations among English speaking learning habits and self-confidence toward English speaking skills in promoting local tourism and culture of Bangka Belitung. The first-grade students of SMKN 3 Pangkalpinang in the academic year of 2018/2019 majoring in Tourism Travel Business Agent became the population in this study, and it took 50 students as the sample using a purposive random sampling technique. This correlational study used questionnaires and oral tests in collecting the data. The oral test was used to obtain English speaking skill data, while the questionnaires were used to obtain English speaking learning habits and students’ self-confidence data. The data were then analyzed using Simple and Multiple Correlation and Regression. The results of this study revealed that (1) there was a relationship between English speaking learning habit and English speaking skill, (2) there was a correlation between students’ self-confidence and English speaking skill, and (3) English speaking learning habit, confidence, and English speaking skill was simultaneously and positively correlated. In short, this study leads to a recommendation to the teachers and students to be aware of having good English speaking learning habits and high self-confidence to enhance English speaking skills.

Pelatihan Tour Guide ini dilakukan untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan masyarakat desa wisata Kurau Barat dalam berbahasa Inggris untuk mempromosikan kekuatan wisata yang ada di Desa Kurau Barat. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, perlu dilakukan pelatihan Tour Guide berbahasa Inggris untuk masyarakat desa wisata Kurau Barat. Program ini dilakukan di Desa Kurau Barat, Kabupaten Bangka Tengah dengan peserta berjumlah 15 orang selama 8 minggu. Pengurus Desa Kurau Barat sangat mendukung dengan adanya pelatihan ini. Tujuan dari kegiatan yaitu peserta menerapkan praktik Tour Guide untuk mempromosikan wisata di Desa Kurau Barat. Keberhasilan peserta pada pelatihan ini dilihat dan diukur dari hasil praktik dalam mempromosikan wisata dengan menjadi Tour Guide serta mampu meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan keberanian dalam mempromosikan wisata desa. Hasil akhir dan saran sesuai dengan evaluasi peserta merasa puas dan bersedia mengikuti kegiatan apabila diselenggarakan pelatihan ataupun kegiatan pengabdian lainnya selama itu bisa memberikan manfaat untuk masyarakat.

This paper describes the results of need analysis of the eighth-grade students of Islamic Schools in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung province, pointed on the development of English E-Module (electronic module) integrated to Islamic value which aims to acknowledge the needs of English E-Module integrated with Islamic value development for junior high schools students. The data were collected using a questionnaire with four aspects: 1) Interest in Learning English integrated in Islamic value, 2) Media to support students’ learning, 3) Pedagogy, textbooks, and learning media, 4) Media-based independent learning. This study was conducted on the 44 students of Islamic junior high schools in Kota Pangkalpinang. Based on the analysis, it reveals that 1) 64.40% of students are interested in learning English, 2) 59.09% of students need media to support their learning, 3) 81.82% of students need pedagogy, textbooks, and learning media, 4) 55.30% students need media-based independent learning. These findings must offer as a framework for the development of the English E-Module integrated to Islamic value for the Eighth-grade students of Islamic schools in Kota Pangkalpinang.

This research investigates the understanding of digital literacy in the online learning process during covid-19 for students in the Higher Education students in Indonesia. The objectives of this study are to describe the aspects of digital literacy in the concepts of Bawden, they are basic skill of digital literacy, attitudes and perspectives, background knowledge of the information, technology and iinformation skills, and attitudes and perspectives. This study employ qualitative with the subjects are 117 students; these students were determined using purposive sampling technique with the criteria who were joining the learning classroom actively. The collecting data technique was using 20 questions in the questionnaire and it was analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques. The results in this study reveal that all of the respondents indicate have good criteria in digital literacy. They have good characteristics in basic skill of digital literacy; have good criteria in background knowledge of the information; have good skill in technology and information; as well as good attitude and perspective of digital literacy. The conclusion is the higher education students have a good digital literacy in the aspect of basic skill of digital literacy, they have a good digital literacy in the aspect of background knowledge of information, and they have a good digital literacy in the term of technology and information skills as well as strong attitude and perspective on digital information.

Masa pandemi menjadi permasalahan global termasuk di Indonesia. Pandemi ini berdampak bagi aspek ekonomi, pendidikan, pariwisata, kesehatan dan lainnya. Untuk lebih menguatkan masyarakat dan menyiapkan anak muda agar mampu menghadapi segala permasalahan, berani menyelesaikan masalah secara mandiri dan kreatif maka penting penguatan dan peningkatan kecakapan hidup. Berdasarkan hal ini, perlu dilakukan program pengabdian masyarakat dengan tema peningkatan kualitas kecakapan hidup melalui program pelatihan kreativitas untuk melatih kemandirian ekonomi anak panti asuhan. Program ini dilaksanakan di Panti Asuhan Aisyiah Kota Pangkalpinang yang diikuti oleh 22 remaja putri penghuni panti. Dilaksanakan selama dua kali pertemuan dengan pembekalan materi dan diakhiri dengan praktik serta evaluasi. Kegiatan ini mendapat dukungan penuh dari pengurus panti. Pada akhir kegiatan remaja putri ini telah mampu membuat bros yang layak untuk diperjual belikan. Selanjutnya dilakukan pembinaan dan pemberian bantuan berupa alat-alat untuk pembuatan bros. Dari kegiatan ini dapat disimpulkan kegiatan pelatihan ini bisa dikatakan berhasil diukur dari produk bros yang dibuat telah layak diperjual belikan dan pelatihan ini mampu memberikan kecakapan hidup bagi remaja. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi peserta mengaku puas dan akan mengikuti kembali jika dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian.

Remaja harus siap bersaing tingkat global terutama pada masa industri 4.0 sekarang ini. Remaja perlu menjadi orang yang fleksibel dan serba bisa dalam segala hal. Dengan memahami adanya potensi diri remaja sejak awal ini mampu menciptakan dan menumbuhkan jiwa kreativitas. Mengajak remaja agar mempunyai jiwa kreatif dan lebih produktif dalam menciptakan lapangan kerja yaitu dengan mengenalkan konsep berhasil berwirausaha. Untuk mendukung kegiatan ini perlu diadakan pelatihan kreativitas dan memupuk jiwa kewirausahaan melalui hal sederhana yaitu pembuatan produk rumah tangga. Pelatihan ini dilakukan pada 20 peserta remaja yang tergabung dalam komunitas PIKR (Pusat Informasi Konseling Remaja) Mentari di Keluraha Ketapang, Kota Pangkalpinang. Kegiatan dilakukan selama 2 hari dengan tahap pemberian materi dan praktik pembuatan sabun cuci piring sederhana. Pada tahap akhir kegiatan ini dilakukan evaluasi dengan hasil peserta mampu membuat sabun cuci piring sederhana dan dapat membuat desain merk pribadi. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini yaitu remaja PIKR-Mentari mendapatkan materi dan pemahaman pengetahuan tentang jiwa kewirausahaan serta jiwa kreativitas, kemudian juga mendapat pemahaman tentang peluang produk rumah tangga sebagai alternatif wirausaha baru, dan berikutnya mereka mampu membuat desain kreativitas, selama kegiatan berlangsung, peserta merasa puas dan bangga pada hasil karya mereka.
