Abstract

The purpose of this study is to add new knowledge about the determinants of factors influence the choice of halal food products in Indonesia in X, Y and Z generations. The exiting literature focusses on halal product with all consumers regardless of age. The determining variable uses subjective norms, level of religiosity, halal certificate and health awareness. This study uses the theory of planned behavior to explaining phenomena and relationships between variables. This research is also part of the development of previous research. The research used a sample of 400 respondents from each generation. The research was tested using multiple linear regression analysis and different tests and used the SPSS 25 statistical test tool. The result showed subjective norm variables had an ineffectually on commodity selection behaviour halal on gen X and gen Y. In contrast, in generation Z, subjective norms positively impacted the way of behaving variables chosen by halal products. The religiosity level variable positively impacts the demeanour of choosing halal products in the three generations. The different test results showed that the three generations of X, Y and Z have no differences in determining attitudes towards the selection of halal products, which are influenced by the four independent variables, with the average mean almost the same in each generation on each independent variable. The variable health consciousness positively impacts three generations on the behaviour of choosing halal products. In comparison, the variable halal certificate affects generations X and Y but does not impact generation Z. This research confirms the theory of planned behaviour in the intention to buy halal products. Furthermore, the intention to buy halal products from various generations is strongly influenced by subjective norms, a person's religious level and halal certification. Therefore, business actors whom regulators support need to pay attention to these various aspects.

Abstract

This study analyzes and explores mosque management from the perspective of grassroots social movements within Muhammadiyah. Through observable phenomena, the author elaborates on the theory of social movements within mosques affiliated with Muhammadiyah. This qualitative descriptive research was conducted at Al-Khuzaemah Grand Mosque in Pekalongan Regency. The study involved six informants, including mosque officials, organizational leaders, and Muhammadiyah sympathizers. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using transcendental phenomenological analysis by Van Kaam. The study’s findings indicate that Muhammadiyah members substantially embrace the concept of religious moderation. The social movement within Al-Khuzaemah Mosque begins with a commitment to integrate with the surrounding community, regular religious study gatherings, training for Muhammadiyah cadres, the selection and invitation of external speakers, and consistent adherence to Muhammadiyah’s values in preaching while respecting the religious practices of other groups. As a result, a grassroots social movement emphasizing religious moderation has substantively emerged.

Abstract

This paper discusses the moderation attitude to counter radicalism in Indonesia. Why is this research interesting to discuss? Fundamentalism is dammed by education and understanding of diversity. Therefore, the author offers the thoughts and personality of Ibn Rushd. In historical records, Ibn Rushd is a scholar who never attacks personally and accuses his opponents of infidelity. The moderation attitude showed by Ibn Rushd can be used as a model for character building for Muslims today. In terms of methodology, this article is of library research type. Furthermore, the writer digs up data from Ibn Rushd’s books and uses a philosophical approach with content analysis or hermeneutics. According to Ibn Rushd, a scholar must have several essential moderation personalities. There are three parts: before, in, and after thinking. Before thinking, a scholar must have an open, honest, curious, sceptical, courageous, and patient personality. Scholars’ personality in thinking is speculative, willing to be guided by experience and reason, willing to accept, ready to face mistakes and dare to make decisions. Furthermore, the personality, after thinking, is tolerant and forgiving.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the values of benefit from the perspective of Islamic law regarding the transformation of qurban meat management through the Rendang-Mu program within the Lembaga Amil Zakat Infaq Shadaqah Muhammadiyah (LAZISMU) in the Central Java region, Indonesia. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques involved snowball and purposive sampling, with analysis conducted using the maqasid al-Shariah theory by al-Shatibi. The findings indicate that the Rendang-Mu Program represents a transformation in the pattern of meat management and distribution, implementing a system of qurban meat management through canning and packaging with three essential benefits that facilitate and enhance its utility: (1) prolonged consumption and distribution over an extended period, (2) practical, delicious, and nutritious, (3) more evenly distributed reach, (4) high flexibility in achieving community food security, and (5) compliance with Islamic law.

Abstract

This paper aims to bridge the moral dilemmas that arise from government policies granting mining concessions to religious organisations and the role of refligious organisations as social controls on the policy and practice of mining against the moral of law. Moral dilemmas revolve around the risks of involvement, the formation of new oligarchies, economic equity, economic actor diversification, and increased bargaining power for natural resource access. This exploratory study employs the Islamic legal maxim and maqȃṣid shari'a as ethical references. The data, such as legal acts and government regulations, were obtained from the literature. The findings indicate that the real problems of mining and other natural resource exploitation are mismanagement and environmental degradation. Islamic ethics based on the Islamic legal maxim and maqȃṣid shari'a can be used as guidance for civil society organisations to address natural exploitation. However, biocapacity deficit and mismanagement due to overlapping rules and authorities in Indonesia are major obstacles to applying Islamic ethics. This paper suggests that hifẓ bi'ȃh may act as a benchmark for state resource management policies to guide private rights in natural resource management to promote renewable energy industry capacity and ecosystem balance.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the improvement in the Human Development Index (HDI), which encompasses health, education, and income, between 2021 and 2023. Furthermore, this research analyses the relationship between the human development index and the environmental performance index from the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Shari’ah. Employing a mixed-methods approach, this study integrates qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The quantitative method uses linear regression for data analysis and interpretation with descriptive pattern qualitative analysis. The findings reveal a negative correlation between Indonesia's HDI and its EPI. Individuals with higher levels of education, better health, and increased income tend to exhibit greater awareness of environmental sustainability. This finding supports Maqāṣid al-Shari’ah, which emphasizes the importance of protecting life, education, property and offspring. Improving human welfare and protecting the environment are key to achieving sustainable development. Government policies should simultaneously promote human development and environmental protection. This fostered sustainable prosperity in line with the principles of Maqāṣid al-Shari’ah.

Abstract

This study examines the application of Maqashid Sharia as an innovation framework in corruption prevention. Corruption continues to be a major obstacle to good governance, harming public trust and socio-economic progress. Addressing this issue requires approaches that combine ethical principles with effective tools for monitoring and accountability. The study aims to evaluate the role of Maqashid Sharia in creating clean, transparent, and accountable governance. It also explores the integration of modern technologies, such as blockchain, with Maqashid Sharia to support a more effective monitoring system in the fight against corruption. The research method employed is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. Data was collected through a literature review, including articles, books, and other sources relevant to the concept of Maqashid Sharia and the innovation framework in corruption prevention. The results indicate that the application of Maqashid Sharia can enhance transparency, accountability, and justice in public resource management. Furthermore, the integration of technologies such as blockchain can strengthen efforts in corruption prevention by providing a more open and accountable system. However, challenges related to infrastructure and public understanding of technology must be addressed for the effective implementation of this approach.
