Abstract

Demand of halal medicine in the world is an interesting issue to be discussed, considering that there are still many medicines that are intended to contain impermissible  (haram) ingredients. The halal medicine depends on the active ingredients and additives of medicine, including the production process and storage of medicine. Alcoholic medicine are a polemic in the community, especially about halal medicine. This study aims to identify the alcohol content of syrup preparations in Yakersuda Pharmacy of Bangkalan. An observational study was conducted to observe alcohol content on secondary medicine packaging. The results showed that there were 8 (eight) items of medicine which listed the alcohol content in the secondary packaging, namely: Actifed Plus Dry Cough + Colds with alcohol content (9.9%); Actifed Plus Expektoran (6.93%); Benacol DTM (4%); Benacol Syr (4%); OBH Combi Syr Phlegm (2%); Vicks formula 44 (10%); and Woods Exp Syr (6%). The conclusion is alcohol content in medicine at the Yakersuda Pharmacy more then 1%. Medicines that do not include the composition of alcohol cannot be sure the drug is alcohol free.

Abstract

The survey of the research and development center of Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of Indonesia in 2013 concluded that public awareness to consume halal products was at a high level. Although the government guaranteed halal products for the customer, the implementation is still not fully implemented. “Halal” status of the pharmaceutical product in Indonesia is still in doubt. The indicator is that 90 percent of the pharmaceutical industry's raw materials are imported materials, that have no guaranteed halal system for these products. In particular, pharmacists have an important role in the preparation of halal pharmaceutical products. Therefore, a study conducted to analyze the pharmacists' behavior regarding halal labeling of pharmaceutical products. This study focused on the behavior of pharmacists in Malang City who are members of the Indonesian Pharmacist Association/Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia (IAI) with the survey method. The objective of this study was to obtain an overview of the perception of the pharmacist on halal labeling in pharmaceutical products in Malang City. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Descriptive statistics ware used to analyze data. The results showed that pharmacists in the city of Malang accepted and strongly agree on halal labeling of pharmaceutical products.

Abstract

The halalness of medicines in Indonesia is an interesting case to study, given that the consumption of medicines and halal food is an obligation for the majority of Indonesia's Muslim population. Since the legalization of Law 33 of 2014 about Halal Product Assurance (UU JPH), there are still differences of opinion in several ministries in Republic Indonesia regarding the implementation of medicinal products, especially for medicines that are classified as life-saving. This research was conducted during August 2018 and aims to analyze the attitudes of cough sufferers towards the halalness of cough medicine and their attitude towards medicines containing alcohol. This study uses an observational design, the research variable is the attitude towards halal and alcohol content in drugs, and the drugs received. During one month, 25 respondents obtained in 5 apothecaries; 2 apothecaries in Bangkalan Regency and 3 apothecaries in Pamekasan Regency. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The results showed that 100 percent of patients wanted halal drugs and did not contain alcohol. From the data obtained, showed that 68 percent of patients received cough medicines containing alcohol between 2.50 – 10 percent.

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) has become a global health problem since it was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) as of March 11, 2020. Data from Johns Hopkins University (as of May 30, 2020) states that 5,930,096 cases confirmed in worldwide with a total fatality rate of 6 percent The prevention from COVID-19 transmission is to maintain the immunity. One way to maintain immunity is to maintain mental health by maintaining the religiosity factor. The development of technology and information causes information COVID-19 cases circulate quickly and massively. This condition can indirectly affect mental health and behavior change of affected entities. The student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN Malang) is one of the affected entities of COVID-19. This study aims to determine the religiosity of the Faculty of Pharmacy students in facing COVID-19. The respondents of this study were 117 students of Pharmacy UIN Malang. The method used in this research is descriptive observational, with the aim to determine the religious practice or conditions of worship of students when facing an outbreak of COVID-19. The research instrument used in the form of a questionnaire related to the indicators and dimensions of the student religiosity that has been tested for validity and reliability.

Abstract

The adherence of hypertensive patients to treatment is the key to achieving optimal therapeutic targets. Pharmacists have an important role in supporting patient compliance. This study aims to identify the obstacles faced by pharmacists in supporting patient compliance at the Malang City Health Center. This research is a descriptive study, involving 15 pharmacists. The instrument used is a questionnaire consisting of eight domains of compliance barriers, namely: pharmacist knowledge, patient knowledge, pharmacist care, patient awareness, facilities for assessing compliance, pharmacist ability in pharmaceutical services, drug management, and pharmacist communication with patients. Of the eight domains assessed, three main barriers were found. The biggest barriers are communication with patients (100.00%), limited facilities to assess patient compliance (86.67%) and limited knowledge of patients about the goals and targets of treatment (80.00%). It can be concluded that the obstacles faced by pharmacists in improving compliance are the actual conditions of the working environment of pharmacists at the puskesmas, which are related to the management of health services from external aspects. Therefore, collaboration between pharmacists and health facilities and other stakeholders is needed to overcome these obstacles.Keywords: patient compliance; obstacle; pharmacist; Public health center ABSTRAK Kepatuhan pasien hipertensi terhadap pengobatan menjadi kunci tercapainya target terapi yang optimal. Apoteker memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung kepatuhan pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hambatan yang dialami apoteker dalam mendukung kepatuhan pasien di Puskesmas Kota Malang. Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif, yang melibatkan 15 apoteker. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner yang terdiri dari delapan domain hambatan kepatuhan yaitu: pengetahuan apoteker, pengetahuan pasien, kepedulian apoteker, kesadaran pasien, fasilitas untuk menilai kepatuhan, kemampuan apoteker dalam pelayanan kefarmasian, pengelolaan obat, dan komunikasi apoteker dengan pasien. Dari delapan domain yang dinilai, terdapat tiga hambatan utama yang ditemukan. Hambatan terbesar adalah komunikasi dengan pasien (100,00%), keterbatasan fasilitas untuk menilai kepatuhan pasien (86,67%) dan keterbatasan pengetahuan pasien tentang tujuan dan target pengobatan (80,00%). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa hambatan yang dihadapi apoteker dalam meningkatkan kepatuhan merupakan kondisi aktual dari lingkungan kerja apoteker di puskesmas, yang berkaitan dengan manajemen pelayanan kesehatan dari aspek eksternal. Oleh karena itu diperlukan kolaborasi antara apoteker dengan fasilitas kesehatan maupun pemangku kepentingan lainnya untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut.Kata kunci: kepatuhan pasien; hambatan; apoteker; puskesmas

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a complex disease, a chronic disease which requires continuous medical care. To improve patient clinical outcomes and success in therapy requires an inter professional collaboration. Objective: This study was aimed to analyse the collaboration of physicians and pharmacists in community healthcare centers throughout Surabaya, especially in dealing with diabetes mellitus patients from pharmacist's perspective. Method: This was a cross sectional study that was conducted within 3 months in 63 community healthcare centers in Surabaya with 63 pharmacists as respondents. The instrument used was the “Pharmacists Collaboration Questionnaire” which contained independent variables from Collaborative Working Relationship (CWR) models including exchange characteristics with trust domain, initiation relationship and role specifications. The Dependent variable was collaborative practice. Data analysis used was non-parametric analysis with Rank Spearman Test correlation to determine the relationship between the exchange characteristics variable. Result: The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant relationship (p = 0.000) between each of the three domains and collaborative practice of physician and pharmacist. The initiation relationship pharmacists was a domain that had strongest influence on collaboration practice followed by specification role and trust. Conclusion:  Despite the result that all three domains in CWR had correlation with collaborative practice, further information about the real implementation of collaborative practice.  Keywords: collaboration, diabetes mellitus, intervention, pharmacist and doctor

Abstract

Pharmacists should face challenging situations such as in the pandemic. The main problem is the preparation management of the drugs. Thus, this study aims to find out the effects of the pandemic on the management of pharmaceutical preparations. Articles were searched for using the PubMed and ScienceDirect search engines. PRISMA, or Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes, was utilized in this study. The data selection flow used the PICO (Population, Intervention, Compare, Outcome) method. Based on the discussion conducted, the management of pharmaceutical preparations in pharmacies during the COVID-19 pandemic can still be implemented with imperfect outcomes.

Abstract

Background: Schizophrenia is the most severe mental disorder because its risk of death is to 2-3 times higher. Objective: To determine the average real costs, the difference between real costs and INA-CBG rates of inpatients with schizophrenia, and the factors that affect real costs. Methods: The study was conducted retrospectively from the hospital perspective using the total sampling method from January 2020-December to 2021. The study sample included inpatients patients and the real costs of the hospital. The data obtained were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U-test and multiple linear regression tests. Results: About 112 patients met the inclusion criteria. The average real cost of inpatients with schizophrenia at Tombulilato General Hospital from January 2020 to December 2021 is Rp. 9,895,102 and the average INA-CBG rate of inpatients with schizophrenia was Rp. 14,820,778. There was a difference between the real costs and INA-CBG rates (p = 0.002), with the highest average hospital real cost component in the inpatient room (Rp. 3,397,723 (34.34%). The factor that affected the real costs of inpatients with schizophrenia patients is the length of stay (p = 0.000). Conclusion: The real costs of the hospital were lower (p = 0.002) than those of the INA-CBG. The highest real cost of the hospital was the inpatient room (34.34%), and the factor that affected the real costs was the length of stay (p = 0.000).

Abstract

       Metformin is the first-line therapy for Diabetes Mellitus (DM), which has not been able to control blood glucose in type 2 DM. One of the Dipeptidyl Peptidase IV Inhibitor (DPP4-I) groups, namely vildagliptin, has been included in the National Formulary which is used as a combination for the therapy of DM patients Type 2. Research objectives to know the effectiveness and safety of the combination of metformin-vildagliptin in type 2 DM at RSPAL Dr. Ramelan Surabaya. This research method uses a quantitative method with an observational study design, with retrospective data collection based on the Medical Records of Type 2 DM patients who first received metformin-vildagliptin combination therapy (n = 30) carried out observations, and recorded the results of Fasting Blood Glucose (GDP) examinations, Postprandial 2-hour blood glucose (GD2JPP), and HbA1C at baseline and after 3 months of therapy, and observed the safety of the combination. Results The metformin-vildagliptin combination reduced GDP 33.13 ± 40.73 mg/dL, GD2JPP 34.30 ± 48.81 mg/dL, and HbA1C 0.89 ± 0.86%. Did not show any side effects of hypoglycemia, but 3.33% experienced nausea/vomiting and dyspepsia. It was concluded that the combination of metformin-vildagliptin was able to reduce GDP, GD2JPP, and HbA1C,

Abstract

Penyakit tuberkulosis (TB) adalah penyakit infeksi menular yang menjadi peringkat kedua sebagai penyebab kematian dalam golongan penyakit infeksi setelah penyakit infeksi HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Kabupaten Pamekasan menduduki peringkat kelima di Jatim dalam hal kasus TBC tersebut, setelah Kabupaten Sumenep, Lumajang, Kota Malang, dan Jember. Kondisi yang ada penderita TB tidak patuh menggunakan obat karena merasa tidak nyaman dan takut terhadap efek samping yang ditimbulkan oleh obat TB tersebut. Sementara para pengelola TB tidak dapat memberi jalan keluar atau solusi terhadap permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh penderita. Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Pamekasan berkomitmen untuk meningkatkan  pemahaman pengelola TB di Puskesmas terkait penggunaan obat yang rasional dan cara mengatasi efek samping dari semua obat TB, sehingga mereka dapat membantu para penderita menjalankan pengobatan jangka panjang tanpa merasa takut. Metode kegiatan berupa pelatihan tentang Pengobatan TB pada pengelola TB Puskesmas dan Penglola obat pada Puskesmas di Kabupaten Pamekasan. pelaksanaan kegiatan pada tanggal 16 oktober 2021 bertempat di aula Balai Redjo, di Pamekasan. Peserta sebanyak 53 orang yang terdiri dari perawat, apoteker dan tenaga teknis kefarmasian. Hasil evaluasi terhadap pemahaman peserta  menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pemahaman yaitu dengan nilai rata-rata 65,98 setelah pelatihan dan 45,22 sebelum pelatihan dengan p wikcoxon signed ranks test = 0,000. Kesimpulan Pelatihan berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan pemahaman pengelola TB dan Penglola obat Puskesmas di Kabupaten Pamekasan terkait pengobatan TB dan cara mengatasi efek samping obat TB.
