Abstract

This study aims to explore the pedagogical dimensions of prenatal education embedded in the superstitious beliefs of the Minangkabau community. Prenatal education is viewed as a fundamental foundation for shaping fetal character and well-being from the earliest stages of pregnancy. A descriptive qualitative approach with an ethnographic design was employed. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observations involving 33 traditional leaders, 13 parents, and 13 pregnant women in Solok Regency. The data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while source triangulation ensured data credibility. The findings reveal that traditional prohibitions, such as avoiding chipped plates, refraining from placing cloth around the neck, and not sitting on doorsteps, function as informal pedagogical practices that regulate maternal behavior to promote physical safety, emotional stability, and social values during pregnancy. These findings highlight the relevance of integrating Minangkabau local wisdom with contemporary parenting education to develop culturally grounded and holistic family education models.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia STKIP YDB Lubuk Alung dalam mengelola referensi ilmiah menggunakan aplikasi Mendeley. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi penyampaian materi, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, dan pendampingan penggunaan Mendeley. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur peningkatan pemahaman peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan kemampuan peserta yang ditunjukkan oleh kenaikan nilai rata-rata dari 36 pada pretest menjadi 90 pada posttest. Sebagian besar peserta mampu menginstal aplikasi, mengelola sumber referensi, melakukan sitasi otomatis, dan menyusun daftar pustaka secara mandiri. Selain itu, peserta juga puas dengan kegiatan pelatihan ini. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan penggunaan Mendeley efektif dalam mendukung penyusunan karya ilmiah yang lebih sistematis serta sesuai dengan standar akademik. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan serupa perlu dilaksanakan secara berkelanjutan dan diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran metodologi penelitian maupun penulisan karya ilmiah

Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of language acquisition and development of students at SDIT Madani Al-Mujahidin and the factors that influence it. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Observations were conducted during learning activities and student interactions within the school environment. Interviews were conducted with the principal, teachers, and several students to obtain more in-depth information regarding students' language abilities. Documentation was used to supplement the research data in the form of photos of activities, notes, and other supporting documents. The results showed that students' language acquisition and development were influenced by their family environment, school environment, peers, digital media, and reading habits. Students who received good language stimulation at home and at school tended to have better speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Teachers play a crucial role in supporting students' language development through the use of active and communicative learning methods, such as discussions, presentations, shared reading, role-playing, and question-and-answer sessions. Furthermore, the use of Indonesian, Arabic, and English within the school environment also provided students with experiences in acquiring more than one language. A supportive school environment and collaboration between teachers and parents are important factors in fostering optimal language development in students.
