Abstract

Abstract

This research discusses the design of risk management strategies in MHP projects in Indonesia. MHP is a type of power plant that uses hydropower to turn turbines for generate an electricity. The MHP project involves a large investment with a long construction period.  The length of the construction time, creates an uncertainty factor that impacts on three aspects of the project objectives. The objective aspects of the project are cost, quality, and time. Several MHP projects in Indonesia have underperformed, such as delays in completion time and cost overruns. The risk management process, which consists of risk identification, risk assessment, risk management formulation and risk control, forms the basis of research work. In this study, 23 risks were identified in the MHP project. Fifteen of them have high impact on two aspects and three have high impact on three aspects of project objectives. The results of this study can be used as a guide for risk management in MHP projects in Indonesia. The results of this study can be used as a guide for risk management in MHP projects in Indonesia. It is hoped that the design of this strategy will also help the project to achieve its goals. Furthermore, the results of this research can be used as learning materials in planning the development of MHP in the future.

Abstract

The purpose of this research about risk management in the supply chain is to identify potential risks that occur and the causes of the risks and to obtain a correlation between the causes of the risks and the risk events in the company. The research method using the HOR method, from the results obtained, there are seven main risks, namely the selection of land and sea transportation. The selection of land and sea transportation is not standard and has many problems (delays), shortages in supply capacity, unclear PR specifications, QA/QC processes are not followed, ship arrival is not on time, the high overturn of employees, and a significant increase in demand. Significant increase in demand. The conclusion obtained 7 (seven) significant preventive measures, including Among them are building Using tracking technology and logistics management to monitor the transportation movement of transportation equipment in real-time, identifying areas or stages of areas or production stages that can be improved to overcome shortcomings, implementing a review process involving review process that involves competent parties, periodic internal audits to evaluate compliance with QA procedures. Periodically to evaluate compliance with QA/QC procedures and insert punctuality clauses in contracts. Timeliness clauses in contracts with shipping companies or logistics service providers consider policies for work-life balance to reduce fatigue and stress and proactively increase production capacity.

Abstract

This study was primarily motivated to investigate the investors participation as it has been observed to be low. The empirical examination was achieved through the variables of capacity building and enabling environment by government as independent variable and investors participation as dependent variable on the Rwanda Stock Exchange. The study included an explanatory and survey design. A total of 188 responses were received from a pool of 219respondents from RSE investors. This study's respondents were identified via purposive sampling, and responses were elicited using a 5-point Likert survey questionnaire. Data were collected through a number of ways, including a structured questionnaire for investors, semi-directed interviews with brokers, and a documentary review. According to the findings, investors' participation in the Rwanda Stock Exchange is primarily determined by their numeracy skills. On the whole, the combinations of these two determinants’ accounts for investor involvement on the stock exchange. The study discovered that both capacity building and enabling environment positively and significantly influenced investor participation in the Rwanda stock exchange. This study helps to make policy by demonstrating that financial education and literacy training (capacity building) should be provided to investors and prospective investors on the Stock Exchange. The government should continue to fine tune its legislation to encourage both local and international investors. The current article contributes to Rwanda stock exchange policy advisory as it has shown the benefit of capacity building and provision of enabling environment by government. The study can be a good library for researcher too.

Abstract

Predictive maintenance contributes to Industry 4.0, as it enables a decrease in maintenance costs and downtime while aiming to increase production and return on investment. Despite the increasing utilization of machine learning techniques in predictive maintenance in industrial systems over the past few years, several challenges remain to be addressed in the implementation of ML, including the quality of the data collected, resource constraints, and equipment heterogeneity. This study proposes an adaptive framework for predictive maintenance in the context of Industry 4.0, specifically in internet of things (IoT) systems, using machine learning (ML) models. In particular, this study introduces PdM-FSA, a new framework based on an ensemble classifier that takes advantage of four widely adopted ML models in the predictive maintenance literature: random forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), and k-nearest neighbors (KNN). The performance evaluation results showed that the PdM-FSA framework can perform well for predictive maintenance according to the severity of equipment malfunctions in a smart factory. The results of this study provide significant knowledge to researchers and practitioners on predictive maintenance in the context of Industry 4.0. and enables the optimization of processes and improves productivity.

Abstract

Multiple choice questions (MCQ) are effective in normative assessment and offline testing is still relevant due to the lack of efficient mass infrastructures and maintenance. For the automatic correction of MCQ paper form and reporting of the grade, it is generally necessary to read and recognize a handwriting digit in a box. This paper focuses on local feature extraction in the frequency domain using Fourier transform. The pre-process begins with the extraction of the fields from the entity map, followed by the application of 2D fast Fourier transform (2DFFT) and the reduction of computed coefficients to obtain the corresponding final local characteristic in the representation. The experimental results of the Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology (MNIST) handwriting digits dataset show that the local characteristics extracted in the frequency domain used as input to a support vector machine (SVM) classifier are efficient in terms of 99.51% accuracy. The proposed system successfully helped in the reporting of all the marks for seven subjects in a class of 98 students during the automatic correction of the MCQ exam papers.
